Would Jesus Approve of the FF series?

Im just wondering, if he was still alive...do ya think Jesus would approve of the Final Fantasy series...It promotes violence, and at times promotes rebellion and nosiness....now that I think about it, alot of FF characters didn't have good manners at all!!!

Oh sure, especially FFX. Where they all worship Yevon, and wait for Sin to come, because they can't atone for their sins. And In FF9 people being all animal like, and chocobos (Things that aren't gods creation.) I'm sure he'd love it :D! Just kidding. I think he would take it as just another story.
 
Well I kinda think Jesus was a guy from the future with a time machine...thats why they never found his and his moms bodies! they fast forwarded to the apocalypse and crap...

FF is pretty rude

1. you barge into peoples homes uninvited and go through their stuff
2. you kill innocent animals just so you can reach another level
3. you summon espers into battle without even considering if it's a good time for the esper to be summoned. The reason their attacks are so brutal is because they are pissed from being interupted!!!
4. there is always some villain trying to destroy a world...geeze, just leave the world out of it for once!
5. you always have to be fighting some type of soldier....Think of that soldeirs children the next time you cast flare on his ass...

So you see? The world of FF is a fun but sinful one...Maybe Jesus would see that it was only for intertainment...if he came back!

He sure wouldnt. In the commandments, it says that we should not have other gods before him and in X there is Yevon. Ahh...Praise be to Yevon :ryan:
 
Yevon isn't looked upon as a God though. They never classify him as a God. I suppose he IS like a God to the Yevonites, but yeah. This topic is really kinda silly tbh :wacky:
 
Thats why Jess moved it to FF Fun. And another commandment says thou shalt not kill, and Sin has killed a whole bunch of people. X is just one big sin :wacky:
 
You're asking about a man who was (supposedly) nailed to a wooden cross and prodded with a spear. I think if he was about these days he'd have more important things to worry about.

Maybe, if any FF world, FFX's world he might find sympathy with... It being about the
sacrifice
of the summoners for the sins of humanity, and
overturning a shameful and false
religion. That is assuming that if Jesus would approve of the game, he is approving the message behind the main characters that you would follow, that being Yuna, and eventually the party wanting to
overturn the Yevon cult to break the cycle
.


But mostly he'll probably see the worlds of FF and their pagan gods (though interestingly religion is little mentioned in most FF games, with most gods being the villains declaring themselves as such, unless we are to assume that Summons are the spirits of gods as well) and he'll probably be pissed off that there are no lovers of God in the games.
 
The Game Series God would really be mad about is Xenosaga and Xenogears. He might destroy the world if he played it. With its reanimating dead people and evil practices. People praying to a voice (Desecration of the First commandment).
 
LOL There are a lot of games and anime with stuff like that in it. The reanimating dead people and bringing them back to life and all that shit reminds me of Inuyasha, but I doubt he'd take them seriously. Just another fiction story.
 
Quite a few Biblical demons appear as enemies in the FF series, so perhaps he might agree with that....

However a lot of pagan gods appear as summons aiding the heroes....

But I'm pretty sure Jesus would hate people in general in our era, including those that love him, so it's all good.

Yeah, thats true. Not only do we play games with 'biblical demons' but people are comercialzing the crap out of christmas. And as Jimmeh said, he probably has more to worry about.

I thought this thread presented a pretty good question. Weird (and hilarious), but interesting.
 
If Jesus is/was real, I'm sure he'd have much more important things to worry about than a video game. Even if he was worried about Video Games, he'd probably start with Grand Theft Auto. FF doesn't have prositutes, does it?

The Honeybee Inn in the Wall Market area of Midgar in FFVII has a bee-themed brothel, so yeah there are prostitutes in FFVII.
