Random topic I was thinking about earlier... but do you believe in luck? And if so how far do you go, do you have 'lucky' objects or are you superstitious?

Personally, I don't really believe in luck.... as in I don't think that objects can bring luck or anything. And with superstition I'm 50/50.. I'm not superstitious in that I don't walk under ladders etc, but sometimes I get paranoid about jinxing situations and knock on wood.


Anyhow, I want opinions! .....please >_>
 
Personally I don't really believe in it BUT...

I've broken so much mirrors and what not and I seem to be having a huge amount of bad luck constantly in my life. I've also seem to have survived many life threating incidence's which to be honest I really shouldn't have :wacky:

Somethings going wrong somewhere along the line....
 
I believe that you make your own luck. Some people just appear to be more "lucky" than others. That is, better things seem to happen to some people than others. But at the end of the day, you only get what you work for.
 
I swear I have the worst luck ever. I'm always breaking mirrors aswel it's really annoying :wacky: If something can go wrong, it usually WILL go wrong. I should try to be more optimistic about things really instead of always expecting things to go bad....that might have something to do with it

Altho after the year Iv had I swear some swine has a voodoo doll or something..... >_<
 
Ooh I know what you mean. I always expect things to go wrong in situations.. and it seems that they always do. I wouldn't say it's down to luck though.. I mean, I wish people good luck before exams and stuff as an instinct, but in cases like that luck isn't really an issue because how your exam goes is all down to how much you know. I think most of it is just subconscious, particularly with lucky objects.
 
I don't know if I believe in luck or not. I'd like to believe in it, but it just seems that luck is something that happens. I don't think objects or the sort are lucky, or that people in general are lucky. I think luck is just a word to describe the consecutive good events, or bad events that happen
 
Yeah I don't really have any objects that I consider to be lucky....well, unless you count certain undergarments but I won't go into that :wacky:

I think Im feeling the bad luck fairy has it in for me, as I seem to always be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I mean, how much shite can possibly go wrong for one person o_O

I guess things can only get better, and it's me that's choosing to change things in my life not luck, so hopefully my run of BAD luck will end :monster:

My mate always seems to get free things when she goes shopping, they never seem to scan and the caashier just never notices. lucky cow.....
 
Hmm, I'm not sure. As far as I can tell, it's so easy to say and believe that things happen in a "lucky" manner. Luck has a good connotation or ring to things that happens positively in our lives, but I don't think I'd seriously go as far as saying, "that was pure luck!"

For instance, when good things happen to people, it is most likely that they deserved it because they worked for it. I wouldn't view it as "luck" because often times, we must go through trials first in order to achieve our pot of gold.

I don't believe in any object either. I mean, sure it's fun to play around with them and toy with the idea that this one object brings charm and luck in your life. But that's as far as I would go.
