Fullscreen.

Widescreen = crap. It bugs the hell out of me seeing to massive black bars bordering my movie.

I can't believe that this many people actually PREFER fullscreen...

You're basically saying "I'm not really interested in seeing the whole picture, just the parts that fit into my nice little box that I've invested in".

I just hope that you all don't take this sort of attitude towards life. The only difference between widescreen and fullscreen, with the exception of widescreen being a little less square, is the fact that fullscreen is missing pieces. I can understand not minding missing pieces, because, in fact, most, if not all, of what you are missing is generally not needed. But to prefer fullscreen, is nothing but stubborn mindedness and/or an unwillingness to change.

UNLESS (there's always an exception to the rule) you have a tiny ass TV/Monitor, in which case widescreen can become a little annoying by making your already tiny picture, that much smaller... well, not smaller... but smaller in the sense of scale. Yes.

NO NO! You have it all wrong! Widescreen is for people who want to confine themselves to the standards of society. What do you think those black bars on both the upper and lower parts of the television represent? Think about it....black bars are used to censor people....You see, I prefer full screen because I don't allow myself to be confined by any metaphorical "black bars." I believe everyone has the right to take up the "full screen" of their life and live free of constriction! BLACK BARS CANNOT HOLD US DOWN! Viva la full screen revolución!

I go with full screen to preserve the films in their entirety, not what society dictates to me is okay by commiting partial screen abortion! PRO-full screen!

Fullscreen.

Then... buy a widescreen TV/Monitor and uhmm... problem solved.

So, does this mean that you tore the four plastic black bars off of your TV set?

I don't even HAVE a television; I use a projecter! That way, I'm not confined by anything! I can project onto everything and anything I desire! THE WORLD IS MY UNBARRED OYSTER!

Pfft, screw that. If you truly want to be nonconformist and free, then scrawling your own movie reels on walls with chalk is where it's at!

I prefer Widescreen over fullscreen when playing video games and watching movies...

With movies, I prefer to view them as the director had intended the audience to see the film. With fullscreen, a lot of information is cut out of the left a right sides leaving out a lot of lost background activity and information.

However, with that said, I can't stand watching a widescreen movie on a small ass TV! I'll only watch it on a Widescreen or large TV.

I hate freaking black bars... If my peripheral vision of the movie is skewed, so-freaking-be-it... Nothing's THAT important if it's that far on the side of the screen.

The bars annoy me to heck, and should only be used on ginormo screens and in theaters...

I really don't care when playing games but when I'm watching movies, I prefer widescreen. Fullscreen just bugs me because the picture doesn't look right.

I prefer playing games on full screen, but I like watching movies on widescreen.
Every game in PAL format is in widescreen format which pisses me off since everything is squashed - even on a wide screen TV.

I dont really care. After the first 5-10 minutes I don't notice what I am looking at, at least in what format it is in.

I only notice whats going on in the little window where stuff moves.

Movies have to be widescreen because that is the format movies are made. Full screen is pan and scan, which means a lot of the picture is lost. If the game or show is made in square format, which fewer and fewer videos are made, than full screen is ok.

Widescreen for movies. I got irked when people's names were cut off when I was watching "The Importance of Being Ernest."

However, I'd rather play video games in fullscreen, though.

I knew this thread still exists somewhere. xD

Doesn't really matter for me, seeing as the anime I watch is usually widescreen, but movies I watch are fullscreen. I'm always watching them both; so it hardly makes a difference to me.

All that matters is if what I'm watching is shite or not. :monster:
