Who is going to play FFXIV 2.0?

I've been playing it again here and there. Just a few hours during a night when I have some downtime from school work. Been pretty excited about 2.0 though. I'm running out of things to do besides leveling another job that I don't really care for.

It's different in my case I'd say that. In the Besaid server, everyone knew who Eliza Joran was (my hot Miqo'te avatar. But I'm a straight male in real-life.). Behests and levequests are much more exciting when you have a hyperactive kitty yelling all the time.

It never gets old...

'ello everyone! For anyone interested in getting the PS3 version, check out my thread on the new updates that Square Enix has in store for us!

I'm quite excited about it! Here are the highlights:
-> New GUI/interface for commands and the menu
-> More cameos from classic and awesome FF bosses and summons (Odin && Leviathan anyone?)
-> More complex dungeons/areas for players leveled 40+
-> && my favorite -- chocobos can now learn skills, such as healing magic or physical attack skills! (Plus, there are cute outfits to match their skills~) :chocochan:

So yeah, check out the thread if you want more in-depth info && screenshots! :3

I'm really not an MMO guy, though I do enjoy them from time to time. But since this is FF, and this time around I have a better rig, I will probably pick this one up! I don't know how long will I last till I stop tho. Usually 2 weeks is around where I'm like "ok I'm done here". haha! :P

I will probably try it out, but only because I've never played an MMORPG before and just bought a PS3. The only thing I'm worried about is how other players will play the game, like how much role playing will be involved, and how competitive it will be. i hope it will be a good intro into MMO's

@Hyunickel - Oh jeez, two weeks is your limit?? I would hope not, lol. I'm sure you can get the first month for free, but I don't think you'll wanna pay like $40~60 on the game just for 2 weeks worth, hehe. If you end up buying it, I hope it captures your interest && you become a long-term player! :3

@Deakin -
First off, I'm basing my answer off of my experience with FFXI, but I'm sure the crowd of players is pretty similar! :3 I don't think the players go overboard with role-playing, so if hardcore role-playing isn't your thing, then you don't have to worry! :p Buuut if you ARE interested in the role-playing aspect, then there should be a few groups/linkshells (whatever they're called now in FFXIV) that support/encourage that sorta thing.

Also, I don't think the players are very competitive. I suppose if there are a lot of players on one server at a given time, then some areas may be pretty crowded, but for the most part, FFXIV didn't seem to have that problem when I played it a few months ago... Then again, I'm sure there's gonna be quite an influx of new players once the PS3 version releases - yay~! x3 Most players are pretty helpful from what I've seen~ I really hope you give it a try and that this game becomes a great MMO experience for you! ^^

HolyDragoon - I tagged you 'cause maybe you can help answer Deakin's question on how FFXIV players are! I mostly played alone since my game was so laggy, so hopefully you can shed some more light on the game for us! :3

I'm sure just because it's FF that I will be more hooked on it. It looks brilliant so far!

I'm seriously thinking about picking up the game when it reboots next year, I love final fantasy, so it a mmo I might be able to get into, also, I got quite a few friends that I can play this mmo with :D also, the trailers make me want to get it even more :hmph: I hope at least a few members from here play the game

I played v1.0 from start to finish, and 2.0 is looking like a huge improvement. By the looks of the Alpha videos so far, I will be playing this game for a long time.

You know what.. I saw the trailer on youtube which I think Greeny posted recently and it's actually looking really good. Obviously the subscription + time demands means I might just give it a pass but it's looking much better than the first XIV did that one looked like a piece of shit.

oh no it wasnt greeny it was C i d

I probably wont unless someone here can convince me otherwise...I was really put off by the launch + I'm really enjohing PvP in WoW right now so yea...probably not gonna happen.

FF XIV: A Realm Reborn

Is anyone interested in this/planning on getting it? I just visited their website and they came out with a new video showing ARR:

It looks pretty interesting to me. I'm glad to see that Gridania isn't a maze of winding paths where you only have 10 feet seperating you from a wall to either side throughout the whole zone.
