Which is the REAL trilogy?

There can only be one trilogy. Is it Lord of the Rings or Star Wars?

Oh and I'm talking the original Star Wars trilogy, not the faggy new one, everyone knows that sucks.

Star Wars. Definitely. Lord of the Rings is complete crap. Randall sums my feelings on LotR up pretty well on Clerks II. Lots of walking, lots of talking, and lots of sleeping on my end.

Since I didn't bother to watch lotr any further than the first movie, and actually saw the majority of the Star Wars trilogy in middle school and liked it, I'll say Star Wars.

But yar, lotr was shit. I fell asleep while i was watching it in the theatre, actually. bored the shit out of me tbh

The first movie could knock anyone clear out. I was happy for sleep, though. Spared me the boredom.

The second movie wasn't abyssmal (at least there's a fight at the end). Nothing that compares to Star Wars, but not horrible.

I don't much care for Luke Skywalker, but Han Solo and Chewbacca as trusty sidekicks is far superior to Elijah Wood and his merry little troupe of gay hobbit friends.

The LotR books are amazingly epic and definitely pwn Star Wars. I was fortunate to read all three of them on a 5 week cross-country trip with my parents before the first movie came out. Buuuut thanks to the movies, I can't ever read them again. I tried a few years ago...and those damn movies had burned Elijah Wood and Orlando Bloom into my brain, so I saw them every time Frodo or Legolas came up. I suppose it would be nice if I was some tasteless fangirl, but I'm not and I hate those two.

Star Wars is better than LoTR, even the new three films are better. I like all the SW films, and I can remember lots of them...The only thing I can remember from LoTR is the Gandalf and Saruman battle, and Gollum

Although I completely bum both SW [if we're regarding the first three as the only films] and LOTR trilogies, SW... does take the upper hand. I don't think it's fair to say LOTR sucked comparatively - no such kinds of film are similar, and should be evaluated appropriately. Having said that, I have to say I'd sooner pick up Return of the Jedi before Return of the King.

Though Saruman is clearly a superior villain.

LotR has The Hobbit (by far better than LotR or single SW movie)...but I guess if you're just talking about the movies...

Quite true. As a matter of fact, the copy of LotR I own is all three in one massive 1000+ page book.

I don't discount the actual events of the first three Star Wars movies...but I do try to forget there were actual movies made about that time period. They would have been infinitely better too if only they'd picked a different actor than that twat Hayden Christensen.

As for Star Trek...well, it bores me. But I do quite like Captain Picard.

Gay hobbits bouncing up and down in Frodo's room was a shit ending. I know they're not actually gay, but ffs, it LOOKS about as gay as you could possibly get.

And actually, I think that Ewok thing was an entire TV series... *shudders* The Two Towers was actually a pretty decent LotoR game too, it was fun to pump Orcs full of arrows and watch them run around like porcupines. Some of the later levels were pretty epic too, only problem was that it was too short.
