What's up with YouTube commenters?

Actually the whole "Like" "Dislike" was bad idea from the start for youtube. At least with the 5 star rating system it was much more anonymous and comments didn't focus so much on the people who didn't like it, but thanks to the "Like" and "Dislike" we get to look at stupid youtube comments like this:

*Watches Weird Al: Constipated."
"54 people are constipated."

*Watches How to Fix a Nintendo Wii."
"15 people are too retarded to fix their Wii."

*Watches Let's Play Super Mario Bros. 3 part 1*
"22 people have no childhood."

It's getting old and annoying as all hell.

I also can't understand how every single video seems to have some sort of rage-filled, F-bomb-filled religious or ethical debate going on in the comments either, even if the video's not remotely about that o_O I mean you can be watching a clip from a cooking show, and then at the bottom people will be like, "God sure gave us lots of good recipes," and then another one, "God had nothing to do with this, they made up their own recipes" and then a series of alternating scientific and biblical references ensues for like, 50 comments back and forth, all the while with the people involved taking unnecessary potshots at each other as well :ffs: I guess I could understand if the video was about that, but it's usually not.

I was watching a Vinnie Moore guitar solo video and their were people arguing over religion. How the fuck does religion come into the mind of anyone watching this video? Does Vinnie Moore's awesomeness just create doubt because God can't be as amazing has Vinnie?

But yeah in all seriousness I wouldn't let the YouTube comments get to you all that much. It's quite clear that YouTube is one of the places on the Internet where intelligence goes to die as far as the comment pages are concerned. This is mainly why I have it set where people who aren't on my friend list have to be approved before their comments come through on my videos. It's how I weave out all the idiots.

People who dislike things on youtube are sad, lonely people with a massive inferiority complex. They are so insecure about what they actually like that they constantly feel the need to lash out at others and nag about stuff they don't like in the vain hope that others will think they are "cool" or "elitist".

Except for people who dislike Nightwish's cover of Over the Hills and Far Away. They are absolutely 100 correct. That shit should be killed with fire.
