It's a great pic, and you wouldn't think it. It looks more like an ox tongue with blisters.

Being honest, I traced the pic's source. :wacky:

I've seen similar pictures of Martian dunes before though, but this picture looks odder.
 
I was too curious. I had to figure it out / find out there and then. :sad2:

I wish I had played along, but you could guarantee that it wouldn't be long until someone else did the same thing.

I might have guessed it soon enough, after suggesting a diseased ox tongue and microscopic organisms.
