What did you dislike about the game?

personally I hated the whole GF, Draw, limit gauges and enemies leveling up as you did. They all annoyed me to hell :(

FF8 is the best ff game ive played in the series and these elements are what made the game great, i cant think of any thing i disliked about the game

I f*cking hated that Rinoa was taken from the party so often, it pissed me off. I also hated that you can't have Seifer. Hmm.. What else? I'm level 100 and Malboros can still own me. The Blue light in the undersea research lab. That Gilgamesh always appears to kill my prey so I don't get any items, Ap, XP, or anything. I think you should've just had gauges and used them to summon Gilgamesh or Odin.

I really wish that the other characters had more to do with the story. Selphie, Irvine, Quistis, and Zell were so over shadowed by Squall and Rinoa. They didn't even get to be in the ending FMV. Only in the credits.

I also got annoyed at how many times Rinoa needed to be rescued. It was like every third mission was Rescue Rinoa! They made her a bit too much into a damsel.

I agree, i think its better if the other chars have greater part,, but anyway, ff8 is still great as a whole.

FF8 was a great game but only thing i disliked was the junction system it just took long and made you focus more on changing your things. Overall its a great game and is my second favorite.

Gosh, I really love this game. Can't really think of any dislikes...but give me a second...um...

Ahh, the GF boost. You know, when you summon a GF, you can boost their attacks by pressing (I kinda forgot) square and start or select...? Well anyway, when I press rapidly on the square button WHILE the icon that indicates "don't press", the whole thing starts over...and that ticks me off. -_-

But overall, I genuinely love this game.

My only beef with the game are the Draw and Junction system. The game eventually makes it so you have to Junction your spells to your stats to raise them up, and the idea of spells being generally weaker than normal physical attacks quickly turns the game into a button mash-athon. These may be silly reasons, but these are the two reasons why I hardly play this game (and why I cheat when I do).

The story and the scenery, the music and the action...the characters...
There's so much to love about this game...but call me an old-fashioned guy, but I love casting magic, and this game makes it a chore to collect and cast spells.

I think the drawing system detracted alot from the game. I spent waaaaay too much time using draw over and over on enemies so I can junction it accordingly. It's a shame that they followed up the materia system (IMO the best system to date) with this.

FFVIII was my least favorite of the series, but I still Love the game. It's just not as high on my favoites list as the many others.

My main complaint was the lack of character connection between myself and the main ones in the game. I jsut kinda played through it, waiting to get to the end as soon as I could, because there was no attachment to the characters emotional-wise.

I did love the whole GF system and how they learned abilites though. That definitely was a major plus in the game.

It was holding down select, while bashing square. I found the boost system quite good. Although at first it hurt like hell and pissed me off when I accidentally press the button when it told me not to, but now not so much and I can do it more. The boosting system has helped train my thumb to withstand a lot. There have been game that I have played that you need to press some buttons very fast and thanks to ff8, my thumbs don't hurt for a long time. (One of the down sides of me doing the button bashing, is that I look like a bloke wanking lol)

I Agree with you 100 percent there - apart from where you said it was a good game - those annoying little glitches spoiled the hell outta FF8 for me.

Ah now that I think about it, the whole connection between the real world and Lunatic Pandora and back and forth really confused the hell outta me at first too. I think a better explanation in the game would have done quite nicely. I mean I understand a lot of it now, but when I first played through it, it was a major "WTF?" moment for me.
