Crisis Core was a pretty awesome game overall. I liked the plot and the characters, but what do you think could have been done better? I think that the battle system should have had more thought into it, rather than have random limit breaks here and there. It seemed kind of messy.

The battle system was the only thing that I found really hateful in that game like leveling up, limit breaks and anything else decent to use in battle appeared at random. I remember when I played the game first I leveled up 5 levels in an hour and the next level up I got after that was three days later so they could have just made the battle system a bit better or at least not so random other than that it was a good game

I rather enjoyed the battle system, I found it to be a nice change to the usual in Final Fantasy but I do agree that it seemed a bit random. A little more thought towards it and it could have been even more exciting to jump into battle mode. ^__^

Yeah, the battle system could have been a lot better. The battle were just: press X a bunch of times. Dodge. Press X a bunch of times. Dodge. If they added another attack button, they could have mixed up the combos a bit. That probably would have made the combat more like Devil May Cry, though.

+ Missions. There's practically around a few hundred missions of similar, samey things with a limited palette of backdrops and the same objectives of killing something in battle and taking an item off it as a reward. They should have just cut the number of missions down and attempt to put a bit more thought into them so that they're more interesting to accomplish. This game does an incredible job of mindless quantity-over-quality missions that I hardly bothered with them most of the time.

+ The levelling and Limit Break system being based on "luck" (with some hidden mechanic that does "increase" luck helping you out at times) was just not enjoyable for me. I'd rather they keep the traditional EXP system or something yet balance it out so Limit Breaks and summons can't be spammed a lot of the time.

+ The game felt awfully short to me despite how long it took in development - not to mention how it was horribly linear. It would have nice for a bit more exploration woven in somehow as the main storyline gameplay just felt so restrictive to me.

+ Monsters show up in that little opened up section. Happens every time. You practically know when you are launched into battle and I'm not too sure why that was the case when they were making it. Having fully visible monsters on the field could have been an alternative, or just widen out some of the areas and have a full random battle system? This isn't a criticism per se, I just found it curiously odd.

Yeah exactly what i didn't like about crisis core... the short length. The game could have been much better if it was longer. The game is also not challenging at all. When you hit the missions it gets pretty challenging however. More story would have been nice to have more flow. The game was pretty much a huge straight line as well. Overall it needs more story, a better battle system that is free and not just "activating combat mode". It was a great game but it could have had much more potential to be very honest.

I loved the battle system, but seemed like every battle wasn't random, just placed in a certain spot. And the missions could've been much better, didn't even want to try finish most of them.

I agree with Ahluk. The "random" encounters were not random at all. I found that during missions I could just walk along the perimeter and not experience any random encounters whatsoever but during the actual storyline if you walked on a certain spot multiple times, there was a high chance of experiencing a random encounter.

Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core was really a game that only captured one audience, and those are the people who've been following the ridiculous amount of plot holes in the compilation.

this game made more plot holes, and was really just a shitty revision of the Kingdom Hearts Combat System. It didn't really carry a lot with it, other than Zack's story - which was pretty much the only decent thing about it.

it raised more questions than it answered. It would have been better without the addition of Genesis for a start. It had so much more potential and they ended up throwing alsorts of random shit in. Hollander, project angeals mother... gillian? cant remember her name...

Places that were completely new, people that were completely new

Sure they had to pad it out, seeing as it was only the nibelheim part that was the main plot point they were going back on. It just could have been so much better
