we should all be a little bit afraid

Issok :inlove: I can make out the little words if I squint :ari: good enough for me.

Oh so you just went out with a survivor of your own initiative, I see

Mhm indeed. Granted, he did possess some very admirable survivalist skills but it was true love and a will to survive that bound us together.
The Meddler: And okay bby, you shouldn't have had to squint though.
But I'm glad it's okay. :inlove:

I didn't think it was. :hmmm: But I know nothing about LSD. :hmmm:

Yar, you're right, I looked it up and it's false; it doesn't change your DNA structure.
It merely affects chemical balances in your brain like most other drugs.

That said ... just in case a zombie apocalypse does break out, I should totally buy a zombie survivalist guide. :monster:
You can never be too prepared.

Fusing with DNA is just insane, it'd be like saying drinking vodka turns all of your bodily fluid into alcohol

Ha! Could you imagine though?
I think my ex was on something when he told me that. :jtc:
But I do think there was truth to the being able to relapse years later from one bad trip.

Well yeah probably, all drugs can mess with the chemical balance in your brain. Lithium is the big one if I remember correctly. Also I have heard as little as 10 milligrams of thc (the psychoactive element in weed) could potentially flick your mind out through your ears

If something like this has an outbreak in our local city, we can just find our police station with statue puzzles and secret passageways that will bring us to a train to escape on.

Mmm true. Mmmhm, yeah, I've heard some pretty wacky things about THC effects on certain neurotransmitters in the brain. My knowledge of it is brief in terms of psychoactive effects, but I think it messes around specifically with the action of DAT (dopamine action transporter). There's some speculation that long term usage could supposedly fry your brain cells basically but that makes me dubious.

And here I thought if LSD could fuse with your DNA then that means spiderman is real. :okay:

That would actually freak me out more than impress me.
I don't want some web-slinging dude to be alive--that would mean that Doctor Octopus and Venom would have to exist. *shudders*

Genes switch on and off during a person's lifetime. Like say if a swordfish is mating. Certain genes will switch on and off in real time--its been measured empirically.

Substances, chemicals and other assorted things a person comes into contact with can also affect genes in terms of being dominant or recessive. So, yeh, it is possible for a substance like LSD to affect someone genetically. Cigarette smoke has actually been shown to affect people on a genetic level.

Its not so much a construct of traditional nor classical genetics, but has more to do with the new and emerging field of epigenetic research. Blah, blah.

If you get bored, watch a documentary about epigenetics, it can be interesting if you like that kind of nerdly geekly stuff. :ohshit:

That was the exact thing going through my head, particularlly the bit in the first film where something looking suspiciously spider shaped fuses with his dna

Well in the comic books, originally, didn't Peter Parker's DNA fuse with that of a spider that bit him?
My knowledge is rusty so forgive me if I'm incorrect.
