I've just recently decided to join an FF forum after being a fan since I was six years old and loving the games. I own most of them and certainly 7-13 and although they rank among my favourite series I haven't had the time to do a complete playthrough in a long time. I find myself starting a new file and then having a seminar called at my university or something and I bcome swamped with work and don't get back to my file for sevral weeks to months and then I just forget what I was doing. Well I have two weeks off and I was hoping to do at least one complete playthrough of one my choice of number 7. I love to level grind and be strongerthan necessary for certain areas and I like doing side quests. So I was wondering from someone who knows alot about FF, how long might that take me?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance :)

I couldn't even get through disc two in two weeks, although I also like to do everything and get stronger than I need to, so you'll probably take upwards of three or four weeks for a thourough play through.

On average I can be done with an FF game in 4 days tops if I focus on it, with grinding and sidequests I still think you could beat the game in 2 weeks, certainly seems to be possible in my eyes :hmmm:

For final fantasy seven? It really aint that long if you remember most of it. Even with side quest, and if you really focus on the game. 30-40 hours max, the only real problems are the Weapon's obviously. trying to kill them takes the most time to me.

See that's totally opposite of me. I'll take like 3 or 4 months to beat an Final Fantasy game. Not because their hard or I'm stuck on a spot, but because I'll play a bit here, pick it up 2 days later, play a bit, pick it up 4 days later, etc...

I mean I want to put in a good amount of time going through the game and beating it in a reasonable time, but so much comes at me in real life, even back to my high school days, and I always leave the game hangin' for a while which sucks.

I'm pretty much the same. If you really stick to it and not miss out on any days and play solidly, then 1 week should be more than enough, but then again it does depend on how long you plan on playing each day.

I grinded all my charachters got every limit including Aeris got the Alexander materia and killed all weapons at level 70 or so. Took about 2 weeks minimum i'd say. My advice is 2 equip chochobo lure from the start and youll be ready to get KOTR in about 1-2 hours max for the weapons.

For me that play 2-hours a week, it takes me 3 months, but you should make it in 40-50 hours of gameplay, which may mean one or two weeks if you have plenty of time to play.

It all really depends on how much time you have to devote to playing the game each day.

I figure a thorough playthrough takes about 60-70 hours, so in theory you could finish it in a week. Being in university, though, for all practical purposes you can expect to finish it in two...maybe even three weeks. Perhaps a good weekend marathon session is in order. :monster:

I remember the first time playing the game, it was actually pretty hard because you wanted to know more about the story. You can probably end the game in the low to mid level 60s though.

I'm also a level-grinder, though I don't do the sidequests much. Still, I think if you're planning on level-grinding, it's going to be hard to do in two weeks unless you're spending pretty much all your day levelling up. Still, I my usual game-time total is aroun 80 hours or so once I'm completed, and that's minus the sidequests, and Cloud is usually around level 99 by then (the others somewhere between 70-90). I'd say ploughing through FF8 would be a more realistic choice due to its easier levelling system.
