Many people have complained that the romance between Tidus and Yuna was too forced and rushed.

do you agree?

i dont  i think tidus fell in love at first sight, and yuna began to fall for Tidus' carefree atitutde - which was a rarity in spira. and when yuna was going through all that stuff with Seymour it was tidus who cared the most, and when he discovered that yuna was going to die you could see tidus' heart breaking

Forced by themselves, time restraints, or other characters? If anything it was forced by the quicness they had to complete their journey in. Sure Tidus took an instant infatuation with Yuna, but I don't think he really started falling for her until they found themselves outside of Mushroom Rock Road at Sunset on teh shore talking to each other. Then once they hit Macalania it heats up with the 'Spring Scene' and it becomes even deeper.

Sure they both knew that they had a primary objective to complete the pilgrimage, but I think Tidus and Yuna were forcing it at all. Tidus had no idea what was in-store for them at the end, and Yuna stayed stable because she knew her mission. Time though...sped up their actions and their relationship.

Hmm, I never thought that it was forced or rushed. It was developed in a very steady pace, and clearly, both love each other. Tidus did have the feelings first (love at first sight?) and Yuna gradually came to have feelings for him as well as they journeyed throughout Spira.

In the end, you could almost feel the characters as Tidus was about to leave and disappear. The way he hugged Yuna from behind was just...wow! And then he passed through her - suggesting that they were "one" for a second there - and jumped. You could truly see and feel their love.

Y'know, now that you mention it... I can kinda see where people are comming from when they say that this was rushed... I mean, I haven't played the game recently, but if I remember correctly, Tidus really did slightly force his love for her... Not so much Yuna, though.

Probably because Tidus was a bit of a playa in Zanarkand, with the ladies and such. I don't know how to explain, but I also kinda think it was forced, but not to the point where people need to complain about it.

nah no way it was forced. I think it was a proper love, they fell for each other over time. and if it wernt for that love yuna would prob have sacraficed herself for the final aeon and sin wud never truly have been defeated, and the fayth wud still be dreaming.

when people say the love was to rushed i think they mean the game was to short so you didn't have time to get into the love story
i don't think it was rushed i think the love story opened up acording to the paces of the story
tidus loved yuna right from the start but he fort he could open up to her after she defeated sin but when he found out she would die if she defeated sin that's when the story gets rushed
-one tidus wants to show yuna his feeling before the end
-and by that stage they were close to zanarkand
actully i think when the group got to the calm lands
you start to see less of the love story until they get to zanarkand
dose anyone else agree with me?

Well there are a number of things that contribute to this
Yuna's respect for Jecht - Tidus's father
The begining and Tidus's urge to save and help her - besaid temple, find another way to defeat sin etc
Tidus's relation with Zanarkand etc
Yuna's belief in both Jecht and Tidus
and finally Tidus's own stupidity and unknowing of whats going to happen which makes Yuna more comfortable about the death thing and i quote

Yuna: So Wakka and Lulu told you everything
Tidus: Well yeah, i mean you defeating sin, bringing the calm its all great isn't it?
Yuna: i can't remember her reply

But i don't think it was forced, Tidus cared about Yuna from the begining, i don't think love at first sight, just cared, but just over time developed into love, well if you spend enough time with anyone, that will probably happen.

To me, I felt like it just... happened. I didn't really see any build-up to it like in other games, so I was left a bit confounded by it all. I think it was mainly a mutual physical attraction at first, then followed late on by a mutual understanding of each other's 'story.'

Being forced through challenging times together can bring anyone close, in all realism. I think they just wanted someone who understood where they were coming from.

I think auron maniplulated them to make a relationship, since he oversaw the relationship with tidus and yuna form and didnt raise an eyebrow. Remember he was there watching when yuna was talking to tidus at the highroad. When yuna was being dragged of by trommel (seymores goon) auron advised tidus on what to say to yuna.
Then when seymore asked yuna to marry him it was auron that confronted seymour about it.
Generally auron manipulated all of the main charactors in the game to do what he wanted and defeat sin.

romance forced?

As far as i could see, all the guardians were telling Tidus to not fall in love with her, saying it was a bad idea. It seemed only natural to Tidus (and probs most men in the world) that when Yuna broke down and was questioning herself and her future that he should kiss her right then and there...i dont see it as being forced, only really more natural.

i still say it wasn't forced... Yuna fell in love with Tidus in the end,

Tidus: Yuna i have to go, i'm sorry that i couldn't show you Zanarkand, well good bye
Yuna runs after tidus, falls through her, stands up
Yuna: i love you...

Also when Yuna wants to go save Kimarhi from Seymour

Tidus: where ever you go i will follow
Yuna: So you will go where every i go?
Tidus: mmmhmmm
Yuna & Tidus: Then lets go...

Also in Kilika near the beginning of the game

Yuna: I want you to become one of my guardian's
Wakka: i don't if that is such a good idea, i know that he is a blitz star, but comes to fighting... he is just a newbie
Yuna: Then not a guardian, i just want him close by

Yuna started to fall for Tidus after he went to the temple and defied Yevon's teachings to save her, Tidus would have started fallen for her, ever since Wakka sad not to

I never thought it was rushed. There were only a few real romantic scenes between them in the game. And Yuna especially didn't want to rush into it because of her pilgrimage even after the kiss scene in the lake.

I dont think their love was rushed tho i dont think they had enough time together.I only had one thing to say.. I cried at the end but that was before i found out there was a FFX2 so..I felt rele bad for Yuna at the end if i were her i woulda jumped of after him but then there couldnt have been a sequel.

It was something you didn't really notice. Until they were alone. They just seemed to fall in love out of nowhere.

I felt like it wasnt open enough, they didnt really have time to develope it at all, minus that one kiss. Which was pretty gaystraight.

I dont think it was rushed. It was....encouraged. Auron was all, "Go to Yuna. Protect Yuna." But they didnt do anything the didnt want. As the saying goes, "You can't rape the willing," Not trying to be sick but you know what i mean.
