Versus 13 or FF 13?

Which one Intrigues you More?

As of right now I am more interested in XIII than in Versus. This is mostly because I really don't know much about Versus. I don't know much about XIII either, but more than I do for Versus. Also, I think its weird that XIII is going multiplat but Versus is going to stay as a PS3 exclusive (for now).

Also, I hope that the PS3 release for XIII doesn't get pushed back so they can release it at the same time as the 360 version. There is a lot of talk that it will be released in Japan for the PS3, then get ported over to the 360, then get released in NA and EU for the PS3 and 360 together. And they won't even start on the 360 until they are done with the PS3. So it could be a while before NA and EU get XIII.
 
Im not particularily interested in either. I know I will probably get them both, but Im not all that fussed, after XII I'm just not that excited anymore and Im not holding my breath. I hope I will be proven wrong, but well.....

Overall I agree with that statement. If I had to pick one of the two I'd pick 13 but overall I'm not to hyped of either. I'm not sure if it is because of XII's story being a let down, or because of the marketing they are doing.

With FFX I was EXTREMELY hyped, I actually think X was the most hyped game of the series for me. But now, they aren't marketing it enough to make me excited.
 
Versus for sure.. it's a much more darker intresting storyline and the Prince reminds me of cloud.. I was never a fan of playing a girl as my main character. dont ask why.
 
I will have to say Versus. Versus looks like a dark natured game, which is very rare because usually they try to keep games mostly upbeat for the depresent teens. So hopefully Noctis will show us who our daddy is.
 
I'm looking forward to both, I'm going to get both. but Versus looks wicked as ol' hell.
 
I'm fine with a one off FF game being set in a realistic setting. It's a deviation, it still looks beautiful'ish... So long as it doesn't look too much like a GTA game instead of an FF game I'll be happy.
But I don't want it to be a depressing game. When I play games I want to relax, despite how depressed I may be, I want crazy things, good characters, humour, enjoyable atmospheres, not 100+ reasons to top yourself. Sadly this seems to be the way things *may* be going with these games now.

Black *can* be a very beautiful colour, if used well. Seeing it on Noctis in contrast to the white of the girl looks great. I'm not too keen on some of the other costumes though, and it just seems like they gave up and shoved anything on them. Yes I did hear that they were getting a fashion brand to do the clothes for the game... But still I don't like that, I'd rather they invent something that looks good. But bah...

Bah anyway, for this reason I don't know what to pick.... I'd say FF13 but I don't know much about this either. Again, somethign scares me about this in that the summons are Transformer-style vehicle cyborgs... But I'm willing to accept deviation if they apply it in an artistic style that looks brilliant and unique. The character design for the two females we've seen look ok, I'm not too sure about Snow, but he looks ok I guess... I just think his name is rather lol worthy.

At the end of the day story and gameplay and music are the 3 most crucial factors, so nearer the time I will be able to decide on this.

So.. I'm undecided. A little bit worried about both, but still waiting on information on both of them.
 
I honestly have no idea what the difference is between both of them. COuld someone explain to me please since you know Square Enix is all fort knox about the newest installment
 
I guess I'm more intrigued by Final Fantasy XIII. Apparently, it seems to be somewhat like VII, about some resistance against a group..

Like Avalanche against Shinra.. This one invovles' Lightning's group against (Apparently) the government of Cocoon.... I'd like to find out what happened exactly though.

Not that Versus is bad. I only know that Noctis is some sort of prince, probably defending his kingdom for some reason, but I'm just more interested in XIII.
 
blantantly versus XIII!!! XIII seems lykit will b a `normal' type of Final fantasy game but versus has thatedge to it that makes it different and seem more appealing
 
I'm not entirely hyped up by them yet, but I'm more interested in FFXIII for now; the landscapes they've shown in the trailers are beautiful.

Compared to Versus' heavy emphasis on dark colors that manage to shine, which just sort of makes me laugh inside. And Nightlight looks very much like Sasuke. That who I thought he was when I first saw the trailer.

I'm totally judging on graphics alone.

i cant wait for both but more vs13 cuz its gunna be so much different and im jus curious to see how good its gunna be
 
The main character in FF Versus XIII looks soooooooooooo much more KICKASS than the main character in FFXIII. The way SE have made him looks so intersting, and especially when you see the video of him fighting on YouTube makes it so much more interesting to play him than her.
 
Final Fantasy Versus XIII

The more and more I think about the up coming Square Enix games that are to come out this year and possibly next, I can't help but think that not only will Final Fantasy XIII will be good.

But I do think that Versus will bury XIII. Yes they are the same name except for one word, but everytime I watch the video or any video for Versus I get overly excited.

And I think the reason is that, you actually play as a guy and not a girl.

No I am not a sexist but I would rather play the guy character because I love to have power, and in the videos that I have seen of both games, the girl isn't that powerful and another thing if you are going to fight a battle fight with a sword.

Why? Because when you fight with guns your a pussy unless your Vincent Valentine. But to see how much of a man or woman you really are you should duel someone with swords or fist to show who is the strongest.

That is why I like Versus better than the other.

But then again you can be a powerful gunslinger if you are a good sniper. If not then you suck at life and shouldn't be on the planet.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII, it's story, from what we have been told is going to be more *Human* and it's theme is *Pain* not physical pain, but rather, *True Pain*, and they are focusing more on the human element, more so than previous FF's.

FFXIII is going to be an awesome game, however, they are trying to make it, what FFVII was, when they should be focusing on it as it's own game, and not trying to repeat FFVII. FFVXIII Nomura is showing what he thinks FF should be, or something FF could be, it's a whole other direction, FFVXIII, showing what FF could be, and FFXIII improving on the past.

Both of these games will be awesome, however, i already know what FFXIII will have in store for us, they have said that it will be more of a *traditional FF* and from what we have seen, this holds true, while this is a good thing, this also means that FFXIII is not a mystery. FFVXIII however will show us a different side of FF, a darker, more realistic and human side of Final Fantasy
 
And that is what I love about it.

It shows that humans are capable of being dark and strong, I like that it will have more reality than fantasy

I mean everyone fantasis about being like one or more of the character's from the ff series.

But this one will make it worth while.
 
I'll have to go with Final Fantasy XIII. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any game franchise where a spin-off has ever been better than the original game, and I doubt that Versus is going to change that. Besides, I was never all that impressed by Nomura's skills as a director (yup I hate Kingdom Hearts)
