I'm not entirely sure where to put this, but I think it could make for a good discussion if I'm right and it's not jus some kind of offer but this is the second time Ive noticed this now
Has VAT been reduced to 15%?
Is this a desperate attempt by the government to get us out of this recession? Will it even work? Now Im not complaining, less tax is always a good thing, but if this is a desperate attempt to get us spending again, will it go up and exceed 17.5% say next year, the year after?
I suppose on the other hand though, if we are not spending, then the governemt arent getting that money in the first place to put on their houses and holidays, I mean NHS & schools >_>
I'm hoping it wasn't a rash decision that could turn around and bite us in the arse at some point, maybe it will work wonderfully - I hope it does, my phone bill has gone down ...not by much but still
Will it even make any diffrence? 2.5% to an individual isn't exactly alot. If I go out and spend say £100 then they add £15.00....(my maths fails so if Im wrong oops) that's a saving of £2.50? Hardly makes a difference. I think they should think about tackling the bloody fuel prices (as in gas/electric) THAT is where the real problems lie
Also, I fail so bad at debating, it's just a thought rather than me wanting to actually debate myself
