Overdrives, Limit Breaks, Trances, etc...

Out of all the Final Fantasy games you've played, what is the coolest Overdrive, Limit Break, Trance, etc..., you've seen?

Mine personally is Ifrit's from FFX; Hellfire. I saw his first move and my jaw dropped, I was like "Whoa! Awesome move!" But then he wasn't even done! He still had to do about 2 more things in his sequence before his Overdrive was complete!

Ifrit's Hellfire kicked ass!

What's your favorite?

Eh another favorite thread... I actually thought of making one about all of Bahamut's overdrives the other day since he has one for almost every game.

I'm going to have to go with Cloud Stife's Omnislash. Nothing can beat it. It's a true unleash of power and fury. Each strike was so epic it really felt like you were in the action, watching your foe approach death with every grand swing of his mighty blade. It was truly amazing and yet incredibly simple. Cloud didn't ride a dragon down from a kingdom in the sky, summersault off at an altitude of 10,000 feet, and breath holy fire from his mouth... it was just a simple barrage of swings and yet it was so incredibly moving and powerful. I loved it.

wooh plenty threads :monster:

Uhmmmm hmm may sound lame but i always liked Clouds braver, i just thought it actually looked legitimate. It was an attack that most people could perform in real life(as long as their sword was a normal size of course)
IN terms of fancy-ness il say Ifrits attack in FFVIII, it looked pretty decent the way he just thrashed the big meteor into the opponent.

I personally prefer Squall's Lionheart: It does epic amounts of damage and you can never be entirely sure that it will be the one selected. Adds a degree of randomness to the process

ahh imagine

I'm tossed so I state both. Ifrit from Crisis Core was very well done. It made me like it more ten other powerful attacks. It was just perfect to me. Also I'm a big fan of omnislash also. Every other multi hitting like lion heart and tidus' were just mimics to me. I remember I grabed a broom and was thrashing it around when I was young and my sister and her boy friend walked in on me. I stopped with the cloud attack nd started sweeping the floor. They continued to laugh about it for years.

The Magus Sister's overdrive. It was ridiculously long, ridiculously powerful, and ridiculously colorful, but it was one hell of an epic attack, and I think it's the most memorable limit break from the visual point of view.

I have to agree ^_^ The Magus Sisters first of all took an insane amount of time to get. Then to get all 3 of their overdrive gauges full. JESUS! One kept dying or some other problem would arise. By the time I did first see the Overdrive the lust was enough to make it great. But my first 99,999 was just epic.

In terms of just looking cool, one of Auron's featured Auron taking a swig from his jug of moonshine or what ever ,and then proceeding to kick ass. That to me just screams awesome.

Gonna go with the Bahamut Fury DMW from CC. I'm a big fan of dragons. I just like how they look in general for the most part.

Anima to me definitely had the sweetest overdrive. He drags em under and who would have thought he had another body and head underneath him! He then just rapidly punches the enemy doing pretty good damage.

I also liked Cloud's limits, especially Omnislash, and Vincents limit breakers because they were really unique from everyone elses. He would just turn into a big monster. Only bad part is that he wasn't controllable.

I'm going to go for...all of the Summons in Crisis Core. I don't think anyone can deny how much better it was to see every summon sequence in full CGI. Bahamut and Phoenix were particularly stunning, I think.

Other than that, there's something great about the way Shiva's always so casual in her actions. She never seems to "burst" her energy out, it's always a really calm swish of the wrists. X's a great example of this - she just holds her hand out and clicks her fingers after floating down from the sky. VIII's the only one where she looks like she's putting in any effort.

^ whem I first saw the Crisis Core summons my jaw dropped, I was like omg. they looked AMAZING. Best looking limits I have EVER seen

Oblivion, Anima. Never ever get bored of that one ever. The way you sink into the floor and start slapping the enemy is epic

Also, Lionheart. That just looked aamzing, love it. I always do a silent squee when I get it, it only pips omnislash, because you know tyou are getting it when you select it, Lionheart is random, so IMO makes it better when you get it

OH attack reels. Epic overdrive of win right there

I Liked Shiva's one in X. Diamond Dust. The way she clicks her fingers to break the ice is just awesome.
Another one that I love is Anima's. Thats just mega powerful.
Tifa's Limit was awesome too. The way you had all seven reels going was great.

OHHHH WHICH TO CHOOSE

Basches Flame purge in XII.... I just love how hes so calm and serene, then he goes HAH. and you have a bunch of flaming swords impaling your enemys.

I also loved barretts Last limit break The one where he uses the big ass laser.
