Alright... Since the Shoutbox's update, (or ever since I woke up this morning) all the Internet browsers have the same problem for me.

It says: Invalid response from server. It will just keep saying 'Loading'.

Thank god you can turn the icons off in the SB, personal preference so I'll keep that opinion to myself, it's just a shame updates break shit.

So can anyone tell me what this problem is? Please don't say it's my internet, as I've had the same problem, at a different place, with a different internet connection.

What's the primary browser you mainly use Kira?

I think it may have to do with the preferences in the browser's options.

Or, if you use FireFox, I don't have any problems with the forum, except for a few minor -expanded top poster lists and stuff like that, nothing a refresh can't fix.

But, some people have been having problems too, like Kelly.

I actually had the same problem for a while after the update. I had to leave the house so I closed my laptop and when I got back and refreshed, it was working. I'm not sure what's causing it.

Did you try rebooting or clearing your browser history?

how do you turn off the avatars in the shoutbox...... i hate them with a passion

You see the word "Shoutbox" with a yellow arrow on the side? Top left above the SB.

Click that and go to options, scroll down until you see "Hide avatars"

I've tried it on different browsers, Raul. So it's not that, I highly doubt it.

Tia, it clears automatically for me when I log out... I got back home from work today, and it's still doing it, has been since this morning. So... (shrugs)

Got it. I've called the tech admins attention to the thread so maybe they'll have some advice on how to fix it.

are the SB lines really necessary...?

Top X Stats can be fixed by changing the dropdowns then changing them back to what you want.

so basically, we've all just changed back to the old way of the shoutbox, and tbf, the sb lines was a bit of an obscure one to change - it would have been nice to actually make us aware of how to change shit back rather than expecting us to figure it out for ourselves, i well wouldnt have expected the alternating colours to refer to the lines, i have no idea what half the sb options are on about anyway

however, sb is now as it should be, happy times

p.s. whats with the double shouts and the invalid shout messages some of us keep getting

Belazor, Kinda unneeded. We don't really know when things change.

And, tbqh, I can't find anywhere to turn the light grey/dark grey lines off on the grey skin for the forum. So... =/
