The Tale of the Forgotten - RP

Felldoh's mind raced. He was completely unconscious, but there was always a light that he could see.

In the light, he heard voices. They sounded like Vex, Zeria, and other people. However, there were two voices that stood out greater than the others: that of Brome and the old man.

As soon as the thought of Brome crossed Felldoh's mind, the light blazed and an image of the young mouse came unbidden to mind. The apparition spoke to Felldoh.

"Remember, matey, where you go, I go..." Felldoh's mind flashed back to when he and Brome had finally escaped that treacherous sea, and met up with the Rambling Rosehip Players. Just before the encounter with Rowanoak and the other Players, Brome had said that very same thing to Felldoh. "Where you go, I go matey..."

And then, the image of the old man spoke. "Remember, you are the Chosen One. You wield the Blade of Light, you must not allow the Dark Gem to overthrow us! Stop Lord Taharka from conquest. The world depends on you."

Felldoh wanted to scream, but he was unconscious. He wanted to yell out after the figures, he wanted to go to Brome, he wanted to do so much, but his body wouldn't do a thing.

And so, Felldoh lay there in a pool of blood, unaware that he had been bandaged, and suffering to a degree which non could ever understand.

Julius started to laugh maniacally as he heard Vex's threat. For the man clad in iron, these whole challenges and heroic talk was quite amusing. From within his helm one could still hear his laughter echoing, even after he had ended laughing. Then there was silence, Julius noticed Felldoh lying unconscious on a puddle of his own blood. Yet the knight remained motionless, unaffected by the tide of situations that rose by the second. Julius nodded his head with disgust, he was disappointed of seeing all his enemies gathering so easily before him. Julius then rose his left hand and pointed his finger to Arthvader's blade. "Arth, sheath your blade, for you to stain your hands with their blood. Soon you will satiate your sword's blood thirst." He said with an arrogant tone as he lowered his hand and then turned to face Vex, Zeria and the old man. As he snapped the fingers of his right hand, a full battalion of soldiers already prepared for the current situation and that were previously given the order to stand near the lord's room in case of emergency, stormed through the doors and formed lines behind Julius, they were like 6 to 10 fully armed soldiers, members of the elite with skills only surpassed by those of Julius, Taharka or Arthvader. The soldiers quickly drew their swords and spears, aiming them to the intruders. One of the soldiers, seeing Sir Felldoh lying helpless and wounded, proceeded to approach him to treat his wounds. As he witnessed all his plans giving fine results, Julius was pleased to have gained the upper hand, after all they were in his playground. "So you are Zeria, unfortunately for you we meet again. I would like to ask you to put down your hasty swords for you have no right or reason to fight against this man. In any case, you shouldn't be hear in the first place seeing that you are an official member of the rebel army, an an enemy of the Empire. Leave or I'll cast your life to the dungeons." Defiantly, he set his eyes on Vex as he slowly headed towards the center of the room, between his personal unit and the intruders.

"You obviously don't know where you stand, Vex. Haven't you realized that you are completely surrounded? It appears not, for you insist on defying my will and my authority.Yet in justice's enlightenment, I find the mercy to give you a second chance. Should you surrender and I would intercede in your favor before the Emperor and get you a fair deal, for all of you. You may leave for now, for I shall not stain this noble place with your blood as well. Sir Vex, take this old man with you, and together cast yourselves to the darkness of the night, disappearing in its gentle embrace. The sun had already set, the moon is watchful once more. Leave in peace, or die in conflict. Speak and give your answers man."

Zeria snapped and shot this man a death glare.

"And who are you to tell me what to do?! I take orders from one man and one man only! So don't think I'm going to just bow down and do anything you say, you stupid bastard!"

She crossed her blades in front of her, preparing for an attack.

"I don't care how many have surrounded me......I'm not giving up. I may not know Felldoh very well, but I do know when someone's been hurt for no reason...and I can't stand to see that anymore"

Every muscle in her body tensed up as her eyes glinted the dangerous viper yellow.

"Now get out of my way! CROSS SLASH!"

The "X" shaped energy flew like a bullet as she ripped the blades across each other, and it was sent straight for Julius...

(Ok Agent Smith, I am going to fix a little mistake I made with this post)

Julius new that taking advantage of Lord Taharka's absence to gain more power and technically self promote himself without permission from higher authorities would bring some issues upon him. Yet he did what he must to ensure the safety of both the town and the manor, even if it meant risking his newly obtained position. Seeing Zeria performing a technique of apparent significant power, Julius was forced to unsheathe his blade. Due to his high reflexes, the time seemed to have slowed down for him, giving him enough time to prepare an adequate counter attack. All this was possible due to Zeria's reckless attacks. Out of the sudden, Julius readied his sword, placed it to the left taking a defensive stance. He soon mastered the power that gathered within his blade and with a powerful upward swing, he released a devastating attack that cut through Zeria's Cross Slash, the clash of energies canceled each others' attacks. "Foolish girl. Your bravery is easily mistaken with stupidity. You actually don't know when you are defeated and the odds are against you, do you? It's better to leave now live to fight another day...."

Julius then sighed, sheathing his blade, and then he set his eyes on Zeria who seemed to be quite stubborn. Suddenly he remembered her mentioning someone called "Julius", just like him, and according to some of his soldiers' reports, this man was a special someone to her. Perhaps he could use this information as his triumph card. Like pulling a card from under his sleeve, Julius used what little he knew about Zeria to, manipulate her.

"And I suppose you speak of this "Julius". Interesting, who knows, I remember seeing a man fitting his characteristics that was sent to Fort Helencia. Sorry, but for an instant I thought that I would be forced to use "him" against you." If you want to see him alive again, you will leave this place."

Of course, Julius was lying, for he was the man she was looking for. Perhaps the one sent to Fort Helencia could be someone else, maybe his "twin". Could this man be Lucius?

Zeria itched to take off and go find him...but stayed for a moment. How did this man know Julius? And what the hell did he mean 'use him against her'? She sheathed both blades and stood back in a defensive stance, pulling out a kunai from her belt and a piece of paper. Then, she made a small cut on her finger and wrote down her name and a message.

"Keep hold of this, because I'm coming back for you, knight. And so help me, if you've lied, I'll sheathe my swords in your guts next time!"

Now...the question was, how was she going to get out now that she was surrounded with Vex. She began to formulate a plan, and threw the kunai with the paper attached to Julius' feet. It read ~If you have lied, you might as well consider yourself dead. Zeria Iiyasei, SeeD Class S~

"Ah, guards! Let them go, for now. I am tired and I don't want to see their blood spilled around staining the furniture of the lord's room." Julius turned his back on Zeria and began to leave the room, but moments before reaching the exit, Julius ordered his unit to stand besides Felldoh and to protect him at all cost. Julius then brought his attention to Arthvader, who was clearly restored of all his wounds.

"Arthvader, we have work to do. We will get news from Lord Taharka soon which will include the details of our next assignment. I expect you to be a fine warrior for the empire. Do a great work and I assure you'll go through the ranks with ease. Fail and you'll remain a simple soldier. I am sure you want to make your own legend. Don't disappoint me..."

Zeria bolted out of the building as fast as she could make it as soon as the guards had moved. In doing so, she didn't realize that she'd lost her ID card that she carried around to show who she was and what her rank in the SeeD Academy was. It would now lie on the floor of the throne room...

"He said that Julius was last seen in Fort Helencia...all I have to do is get there. Someone should be able to point me in the right direction. Maybe a guard at the entrance can point me in the correct way..."

He noticed how the woman left with much haste, and by doing so she carelessly dropped a small card on the floor. Julius walked towards the item lying on the floor, knelt to pick it up and then rose. He stared at the card held by his right hand for a few moments.
Zeria Iiyasei
Rank: SeeD S
Balamb Garden Military Academy

The card also had a photograph, in it she looked more peaceful, innocent and even full of dreams and joy. The glint in her eyes showed that she did spent some happy moments, whether if they were in this academy or not were unknown to Julius. Suddenly Julius had a flashback, memories flowed like an uncontrollable river. In his memories he saw a place called "Balamb Garden", and he was in the lobby of a very futuristic facility. Where was this place located? He didn't knew. The memories were quite vivid, and more came up by the second. There was a man standing next to a desk in a huge office, the large window showed the whole courtyard of Balamb Garden. This man was shockingly familiar, it was him. Somehow this ID Card seemed to have triggered some of Julius' memories. The images kept flashing, soon he was brought to a very important even. He was standing next to a mysterious woman, and he was surrounded by several soldiers.

Inexplicably the memories stopped, the dark stone noticed the sudden recovery of Julius' memory. With its dark power, the stone leeched Julius of his memories and temporarily blocked most of them. Julius felt a slight headache and decided to put the card in one of his pockets. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't tell who was the woman that he saw during that flashback. Anyhow, he opted for staying in the room until he had any news of Felldoh's condition. The medic had already stopped the hemorrhage and applied some bandages to Felldoh's wounded shoulder.

"Believe me, Julius. I'll never fail you." Arthvader said as he sheathed his sword. As they wait for Lord Taharka to make his return, he went ahead and asked Julius a question. "Hey, tell you what, how about we have a sparring match while we wait for Lord Taharka to arrive. Ever since that fight I had with Kaos, I feel as if I need to improve myself before I go into any other battles. So, What do you say?"As he awaits for Julius's answer, he waits on the condition of Felldoh. 'Man, I hope he's okay.'

(Let's wait for LS, and Hera)
"Very well, we shall battle tomorrow at first hour. Meet me at the courtyard once you have a good breakfast. Right now I want you to be here to make sure they leave."

Julius left the room, and several of his soldiers left as well. The other half however, stayed watching over Vex and the old man, making sure they didn't gain access to deeper into the manor.

It had been a day since Vex had passed him on the road. He had not stopped to rest since that moment. To his surprise he did not seem to tire as he ran along. His worry for his allies kept him moving. He soon reached a maner of sorts. There were guards outside to keep anyone from entering, but before he had a chance to ask them any questions, Zeria ran out. She seemed to be troubled over something.

"Zeria! Are you okay? I've been trying to catch up with you for a couple days now. I had to make sure no harm came to you."

Felldoh groaned and stirred slightly. His shoulder burned, and he gasped as a fresh wave of pain took him. "Hah!" he inhaled quickly. It caused him to open his eyes. The first thing he noticed was that his shoulder was bandaged, and there was a man standing over him, robed in white.

Felldoh tried to push himself up with both arms, but his left hung limp. He compensated, and pushed hard with his right arm, lmost making himself jump up. Those seasons spent in the quarry worked wonders on the young squirrel's muscles.

As he rose, Felldoh noticed that he was surrounded by soldiers, and the white-robed man was staring at him, a kindly expression on his face. "Ah, you're awake, sir! Excellent, you've only been unconscious for half an hour. Amazing!"

Felldoh noticed the blood that the white-robed man was wiping off on his robe. "What's all that blood from?" Felldoh asked suspiciously.

Still wiping, the man said, "Why, from your shoulder of course! I just finished putting a fresh set of bandages on it. That was quite a wound that you had, the arrow shaft had gone all the way through your shoulder. If I hadn't extracted it, you might have lost the use of your arm permanently!"

Felldoh didn't believe it. He remembered being shot, and seeing the arrow, but he could still use his arm after that. The only reason it hung limp at his side now was because of how much it ached and burned to move it.

"I'm a medic," the man continued kindly. "I had to pull the arrow out from each end. Luckily, it snapped when you'd hit the floor. I didn't have to break anything. I cleaned your wound of wood and all that nonsense, and then I bandaged it, twice! You've lost a lot of blood, master Felldoh."

Felldoh knew this was true. He felt dizzy and light-headed. He wasn't going to falter, however, and he looked around. There were Vex and the old sage, standing surrounded by soldiers. The soldiers didn't seem to be attacking, though, only guarding the entrance tothe caste.

Felldoh thanked the medic, and walked over to where Vex and the old man stood. Leaning close to Vex's ear he whispered, "Look, get out of here with the old man. I'll join you soon, but not until I find out more about this Taharka, and help Julius out a little bit. I have to figure out a way to destroy that gem of his, or he could mess all of us up. But for now, e need you to get out of here, please."

Felldoh walked back to where he'd lain in a pool of blood, and grabbed his sword where it had clattered to the ground. Felldoh noted with astonishment how the Sword had not been garnered or defaced by any of his blood.

Picking it up, Felldoh sheathed his blade and looked at Vex and the old man. "Get out of here, I don't want them to hurt you."

The sun arose faintly upon the face of Taharka as morning approached ever slowly, almost reluctantly. The night had been long - or seemed that way due to the clouds bellowing subtly from Avernus' allied cities and foundries.

Captain of the assassins -Crossel- stood watch for most of the night with his High General, but awoke the men soon as dawn arrived despite having little sleep himself. Having feasted slightly on bread, cheese and water, all felt ready to continue their journey. However, it was not a direct path to the Water Shrine...

SeeD Headquarters lay in wait upon their path. The secondary mission would soon come into play.

Julius had a bad night of sleep, he couldn't rest thinking that his reckless actions would surely lead to a demotion. His thirst for power and position won for him many rewards, and his cold heart and deadly swordplay earned him the tittle of "Death's Messenger". It was 6:45 AM, Julius was already clad in his usual armor suit, his trusty sword at hand's reach for any possible attack. Ever since yesterday's intrusion, Julius had ordered all the troops of Avernus to double the security, Code Red. After having his breakfast in the room, Julius awaited patiently on the balcony, staring at the horizon. While going downstairs, Julius heard that a new messenger from Willendorf, the Kingdom of King Ottmar, an allied to his Highness, the Emperor. The report was regarding the advancing armies of the rebels approaching the imperial frontier, and that they were requesting support. Julius knew that he couldn't order a full scale support for Ottmar, so he opted to wait for Lord Taharka. He thanked the messenger for bringing this report, and ordered him to deliver a copy to Lord Taharka, a report including the necessity of increasing the manor's defenses, the event regarding last night's intrusion in the manor, Arthvader's recruitment under Captain Argexis' command, and the collected information about the Gems of Shadow and Light. The messenger set off to meet the Lord at his base.

Vex still stood in defiance as he was suronded, not giving an inch. His face was etched in determination to protect the old man. It was only when Felldoh came and spoke to him saying, "Look, get out of here with the old man. I'll join you soon, but not until I find out more about this Taharka, and help Julius out a little bit. I have to figure out a way to destroy that gem of his, or he could mess all of us up. But for now, I need you to get out of here, please." Just giving a nod to Felldoh he sheathed his sword and picked up the old man and hurled him onto his shoulder. "Very well then but do make sure that you keep yourself safe."

With that being said Vex turned around and slowly walked out, but not before turning around to Julius and saying, "Beware this is not the last of our encounters, we shall cross paths and then blades sometime soon. I only leave now since you present a chance for this old man to live."

Vex continued his walk out of the manor, his mind still replaying the scenes that happened. His concern lay mostly on Felldoh's safety in that place and then, the gem Julius had. From what little he recalled he knew that was not the true Gem of Darkness, or shadows as the one man seemed to call it. He also left with a great upset, somehow Arthvader betrayed the group. Just as he was begining to trust this group and let some of history know to them, he decided to show his true colors.

Finally he reached the gate of the manor, and whom he saw was quite a suprise. It was Sylar and Zeria running away to where who knows. So he quickly yelled to her, "Wait where are you going Zeria, and Sylar good to see you again after so long. Zeria please stop running if we have anychance to figure out what is now going on we must stick together."

That voice. Damian turned around to see his friend approach from inside the building.

"Vex! I've been trying to catch up to you ever since you passed me on the road. You seemed to be in such a rush I had to find you all before anything bad happened."

Damian looked around expecting one more to come running up, but no one else but the guards were in sight.

"Where is Arthvader? I thought he might have made it here before me."

As the morning approached, Arthvader went ahead and a good meal at the hall. After eating his meal, he headed towards the courtyard. There, he sat by a corner, awaiting for Julius to make his appearance so they could start their sparring match. 'I only hope that this is what i need the most. I mean really, after Kaos almost killed me back there, I really need to improve myself for the next time that we might be crossing swords.'

As he passed through the corridors he wondered how much time would pass before the messenger could deliver the message to Lord Taharka. While he thought about that, Julius had passed through the west wing hall and the main lobby, finally arriving to the doorway leading to the courtyard.

As expected, Arthvader was awaiting for him. Julius approached the center of the courtyard to prepare himself for the sparring match. As he unsheathed his sword, the iron knight bowed formally to the opponent standing before him. "We shall only use our weapons, no spells, just the swords, understood?" Julius said with a calmed voice, he knew that Arthvader needed to improve his skills if they wanted him to assist the Empire on the quest for finally stopping the rebel armies.

Zeria sighed and stopped with a growl.

"That Knight told me that Julius was in Fort Helencia...a guard told me it was that way, so that's where I'm going. If there's any chance that I can find Julius, I'm taking it...and besides, the academy is right on the way, so I figure that I'll be there by nightfall, and I can rest up there. My room should still be intact, if nobody messed with it...you're free to come if you wish, but if not, I really must be going..."

She had that look in her eyes again...the one that reflected the pain, the agony, and the sorrow she felt....but there was also a spark of determination. It seemed that this Knight really had her getting stronger and more tolerant of things...

When Vex and the old man had left (Felldoh's sharp ears had picked up a great deal of muttering from the old one), Felldoh left to find Julius. However, the medic absolutely insisted that Felldoh go lay down in the infirmary.

He did as he was told; the healer was a healer for a reason. He lay down in the bed, restless as the medic closed the door.

There Felldoh lay for the night, tossing and turning in his bed. He was plagued by nightmares. Badrang would run after him, always chasing him with the sword that had belonged to Martin, one of Felldoh's friends. Felldoh turned to find the sword bearing down upon him, and woke in a cold sweat as the sword plunged for his heart.

Felldoh stared around blankly, nothing but fear and loathing clenching his heart. Why had he run? He would never run from Badrang, or any tyrant for that matter.

Felldoh climbed out of his bed and put on his shirt. He opened the infirmary window, and was delighted to see that he was on ground level. Grabbing his swords and strapping them on, Felldoh jumped out of the window and crossed to town. The guards recognized him from the night before (he WAS the only giant squirrel around, after all), and allowed him to pass into the town.

Daylight had not yet broken, and yet Felldoh could see a blacksmith's shop lit up. It had the tell-tale ring of hammer and tongs. Felldoh had heard it many times from when Badrang's horde would repair their weapons.

He steppd inside the shop. There was a gruff man hammering a spear-head onto a wicked looking shaft. The spearhead itself was small, but the barbs that stuck out of the spear were wicked and deadly. Felldoh was amazed when he saw a small barb on the end.

"What's that for?" Felldoh asked, tapping the barb on one of the other spears in what seemed to be a set.

The man turned and looked at him. "Ah, you'll be the squirrel that the Captain brought in, eh? Big one, aren't'ya?" When Felldoh didn't answer, and only looked fascinatedly at the spear, the man continued. "That barb down there is for the launcher to grip." At this, the man grabbed a curved stick and placed one of his spears on it. With a powerful movement of his arm, the man launched the spear, holing onto the stick, and burying it in the wall, right in the middle of a target.

"Not bad," Felldoh muttered. He looked at the man. "Is there any way I can work for one of these sets of spears? I'd buy one but I don't have any money..."

The man let out a long, refreshing laugh. When he stopped, he wiped a tear from his eye and spoke to Felldoh. "Pay? You're part of the Captain's army, why would you have to pay?"

Felldoh frowned. "Well, I have to do something to earn it, don't I?"

The man was actually aghast. When he'd managed to recompose himself, he said to Felldoh, "You mean, you actually intend to work for it?"

"Of course."

The man thought considerably. "Look mate, if you manage to kill some of these rebels with these, I'll give them to you for free. And, just between you and me..." He looked around and then whispered confidentially to Felldoh, "Make sure you keep Vex and the others alive... We need them to stop Taharka." Moving backwards he cleared his throat and said, "Got that mate? Bring me a few hides, and you can keep them. Here's your set." With a wink, the blacksmith handed Felldoh a bundle of spears and two casters.

Felldoh shook the man's hand and left, returning to the courtyard. At least now he knew that there really was something wrong with Lord Taharka.

Felldoh walked into the courtyrd and saw Arth sitting there. He was about to talk when Julius approached. The two were going to have a battle, from the looks of it. Felldoh lay his new spears down and sat alongside them.

This'll be fun to watch, Felldoh thought with a smile.
