FFX's emotional vocal track scene vs. X-2's emotional vocal track scene.

Which scene did you think was more powerful ie. more emotional to you and why?

They're both quite emotional, but I'd have to say that X-2's concert scene is much more powerful because it actually shows how the lovers were betrayed and killed. I think watching them die by the hands of Yevon has much more of an impact than watching the fated Tidus and Yuna make out under the water. :P Romantic as it was, Lenne and Shuyin's was just much more emotional, IMO. I can remember tearing up a bit the first time I played X-2 while watching that concert scene. I have to say that if I were to pick which scene I liked best, it'd be the spring scene. However since your question is which is more emotional, it'd be the concert scene.

Wow, the FFX-2 scene is sad! D=

But I still prefer the spring scene. I haven't yet played FFX-2 so maybe I would like the concert scene more if I had. I don't know, the spring scene is just beautiful ='D

I would have to go with The Spring. The scene was beautiful, raw and emotional. These characters and their relationship have grown throughout the story, and at this point they are expressing a love that looks to be doomed. It's the ultimate Tidus/Yuna moment if you like the couple, and Suteki Da Ne was a wonderful song IMO. The concert in X2 was not that emotional for me. Shuyin and Lenne came off as plot device Tidus/Yuna clones, it sucked that they died like that, but I wasn't attached to them. Apart from that I was never comfortable with Yuna singing, it felt unnatural for her character and I didn't like the song, the piano version of 1000 words is good though.

i think the spring scene was better, because you felt a connection with tidus and yuna and you follow their story and all that, but you didnt really know much about those two that looks like tidus and yuna in final fantasy X-2.

i really liked the concert too. it felt a bit weird because it didnt seem to fit in, but the best about that scene is when they show when those men shoot the couple.

but ive never ever seen people kiss like that in a video game before! :O

The Concert. I loved that spring cutscene movie, but the Concert was about lovers that was going to be killed, really dramatic story

For me its the spring scene. That was the moment we were waiting for the whole game, then it finally happened. I never really felt for shuyin and Lenne at all sadly, i just couldnt get emotional for them. Also on another note i have a big dislike for all the scenes where Yuna sings, it makes me cringe=/ which pretty much destroys any little hope of me giving any sympathy for them.

I agree with pretty much all that. It seems awkward when Yuna sings, and on top of that, I didn't give two shits about Shuyin and Lenne. They're two characters who I barely knew about, and Shuyin has been bitching for 10,000 years. I don't know. I loved that Spring Scene, and I don't know if any video game scene could compare, but on top of that, I really didn't even care for that Concert Scene in the first place, or the plot it entailed.

They were both very good and emotional scenes, but I prefer The Spring FMV. It's my favorite FMV in FFX. It's one that alot of the fans really hoped would come. It was very romantic and showed the love that Tidus and Yuna had for each other. It was more of a happy romantic scene while The Concert was more of a sad romantic scene.

I'm pretty much with most of the posters above. To me the concert scene is definitely not as emotional for me. Using the concert and song to bring out the Lenne/Shuyin plot is okay, the song is great, but somehow throughout the game I just have no connection with Lenne nor Shuyin. Of course, that's understandable as well since we don't really see them apart from cut-scenes or just recollections.

Now for the Spring scene. That one is definitely emotional. I mean how can you not feel for it somehow? Suteki Da Ne is just such a poignant statement, and also the sweet melancholy when Tidus and Yuan embrace, an itimacy that's just temporary(Till X-2 came along). Spring scene hands down.

I'm not sure which scene was better. They're both good and it's hard to choose which one I liked more.

I like poking a little fun at the Spring one because people refer to it as a kiss scene when it's actually a full blown make out session xD

It's choreographed very beautifully and I think it definitely shows the feelings Tidus and Yuna have for one another. They way they looked at eachother and such (that it was initiated by Tidus who just suddenly kissed Yuna while she was crying kind of bugs me a little; make it looks like he's an oportunist, but meh *shrugs*)

The Concert one also gets to me as well. Although Yuna is singing, it's Lenne's song and her feelings being put on the spot. Her feelings for Shuyin, the lengths Shuyin himself went to protect the woman he loves and their tragic death. It's not beautiful like the Spring, but it still tugs at the heart strings >__<

I personally felt Tidus was just comforting her, not jumping on the opportunity.

Also, the Spring scene was a little weird. I didn't quite get what was going on. Were they underwater? Were they floating?

I'm more confused about why Yuna sobbing over her inevitable death made Tidus smile and want to kiss her.

To me, Yuna only sang it because of lenne y'know? It was the songstress dressphere and i feel it was more lenne and shuyin's song. idunno, i just didn't really feel as attached to it then Yuna and Tidu's moment. Don't get me wrong, i liked the song but i felt the the Spring was much more emotional and connected. I felt they're emotions as they we're kissing. I Think it was the right time and place to do it :) Very emotional and romantic ;))

The Concert didn't really get me as emotional as The Spring scene did. I was sad of course during the Concert. I did get a bit teary-eyed.

However, I felt like I knew Tidus and Yuna more. The love that was shown during The Spring scene truly touched me. I cried during that scene and I still do whenever I play the game. >_<

It definitely is the more powerful scene emotionally for me. It's truly lovely.

The concert, by far. That really hit a chord with me. I've played X-2 twice now, both times I got goosebumps. Second run-through of X, the spring scene was touching, but it got old. I like the idea, though.
Just watching the video of the concert, again, I got goosebumps and even slightly bit emotional. I like the idea of how tragic the concert is, with the death of both of them, plus the lyrics really mean something.
(not to say Suteki Da Ne's lyrics are bad, just they weren't as tragic or... emotional, as 1000 Words)
I like a good tragic romance story, not saying FFX wasn't, but I found FFX-2's romance more tragic and I just love how they died in eachothers arms, it's really touching. Plus, how the aim of the concert was to bring everyone together, you think back to how Lenne must've wanted to sing that song to stop the fighting between Bevelle and Zanarkand. I find it has more meaning.

Both were really great however, The Spring was more romantic we were waiting for him to make his move on Yuna ;) XD 1000 words is great but the spring i felt more into because I know them as characters and whatnot better just seemed to fit better IMO.

This bothers me in shows and movies all the time, to be honest. I guess it's because when I'm upset, I'd like a hug or something, but one of the last things I want is to be kissed. (Feels less like comfort and more like distraction.) That's just me, though.

Having said that, I still like The Spring more! I think it has more to do with the fact that I like Suteki Da Ne more than 1000 Words than not liking the concert. I actually like the concert a lot, but the spring felt more genuine to me, probably because of the connection with the characters.

I voted The Spring, but I'm slightly conflicted about it.

I like the song better in X-2, and it is a very powerful scene. But... the circumstances it takes place in are so ridiculous. It's essentially like a concert for world peace actually bringing about world peace in the real world. Ummm, no guys. It's a nice gesture, but it's not that simple.

Whereas the scene in X is very well placed, very pretty, and the lyrics to "Suteki Da Ne" are so very understated, about all these very simple desires that Yuna probably never even thought about having until then. Very heartrending if you read the lyrics and like the characters. X is tied for my favorite game ever, so I'm rather biased.

Well, in any case, I think X-2's only real contribution to the world was two great music videos.

Both are awesome scenes, but the concert scene is my favorite. It always gets to me when I see the part where Shuyin and Lenne are looking at each other right before they get killed. The spring scene made me smile more so than cry. The concert scene had a much bigger impact on me.
