Fan Fiction The SeeDs

A challenge is fighting players who follow a similar path then you...in my case battlemages, which is the best path in my opinion.

Mages are good but as soon as they run out of MP they become kittens.

Warriors can take lots of damage but use a few magic attacks which cause permanent damage and they will lose fast too.

Plus the fact that the RPG mods said that you need to be both a warrior and a mage to do well in the RPG proves that being a battlemage is the way to go.:)

But with potions a warrior can come out on top against a mage. Mages have lower hp on average which is where a warrior has supremacy. with a few 100% healing potions a warrior can beat down a mage. A mage does have good spells, granted, but these have a limit.

Just like there are potions for warriors, mages can also use potions to restore MP, plus there are magic spells which take much more damage then a simple strike.

Knights can dual weild, place enchantments on their weapon(s) and also just boost their MDEF and strength.

Well mages can do that as well...believe me and a pure fighter vs a pure mage battle the mage will most likely win.

Just my opinion. I'm not a mage so^_^

If a mage did choose to boost his/her magic defence wouldn't that put them at a disadvantage? If a knight was to make him/her desperately weak and the knight was still too powerful to be beaten in a hit wouldn't the mage most likely be beaten? A cura spell wouldn't get through the defence enough to make an adequate heal.

Mages would have to heal at some point, they just don't have the physical defence to stand up to many sword blows.

But if a mage doesn't boost his/her MDEF how are they expected to beat a mage enemy? They would end up taking loads of damage from magic attacks and end up as a poor excuse for a hybrid.

...someone is in denial.

A warrior no matter what streght or potions he uses will never become as good as a mage, a spell like bio, curse, giga flare, and so on...would be enough to beat a standard warrior.

You should know that by now since you played the old RPG.

Plus what would a warrior do if there comes a point in the RPG where enemies can only be hurt by using magic? He/she would get stuck forever.

You have to be both to survive.

Not really, a knight could use standard spells. And if that did happen you would just adapt or request a mage character to help you beat the boss if possible.

Personally... I prefer the warrior approach... I never really liked relying on magic in any game because it makes me feel as though using magic just means my character alone is not fit to defeat the enemy. Frankly, my character will be an anti-mage by level 36.

Yeah, the only spells I really focus on are status boosting spells like haste or berserk. I rarely use attack based spells unless there is no real alternative. Which is quite rare. My attack power alone surpasses most spell power (I can hit 200 strength with my stance and I only have 40 base strength)

The more the merrier! You just need to write a quick bio. Just your name, weapons, personality etc.

lol okay, I saw that in the first page, but didn't know if you guys were still accepting.
Btw, this character is based off an FFT sim I play where he's a bard, but in FFF he's going to be a mage so... there might be a couple inconsistencies. :P

Name: Landon McAllister
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Weapon of Choice: Poleaxe for now, but eventually it'll be a staff.
Personality: Aloof, sarcastic, apathetic, debonair.

Quick Bio:

Landon McAllister was born into a musical family, with his father playing the piano and his mother a singer. From a young age, he showed great signs of intelligence, but it seemed to be misplaced as all he wanted to do is go out and cause trouble with his friends. In school, he was the class clown and simultaneously the handsome and flirtacious male vixen, but his mere personality was enough to put people off. Crude, sarcastic, and witty, he was able to turn anything said about him and throw it back at his naysayers with class. Such is the reason why Landon fell into the wrong crowd, and resorted to drinking and vandalism throughout his pre-teen years.

Although he had (and still has) an impentrable exterior, there is indeed a softer side to this young McAllister. Writing and music are his passions, though he hides these things to prevent himself from appearing to be the "sensitive metrosexual freak". It was his birthright to become an artistic man, but he was not proud of this fickle lineage, instead wanting to be the clean-cut leather jacket wearing social alleycat that no one would pick on or push around. That wasn't the life for him.

At age 16, disaster reared its ugly head as it somehow conveniently does no matter what the circumstances. One day, Landon decided to come home and visit for a bit, having gone through exams at the Academy and already quite stressed. When he entered the threshold to his humble abode, he would find his mother dead on the couch, a bottle of whisky in the now limp hand that barely grazed the floor. It was at this point where Landon's life completely changed, his last source of inspiration and motivation gone since his father was in the military, and was seemingly stuck there for life.

Landon changed. Instead of being the suave and critical class clown, he refined himself into a more mature man, even though he was still a teenager. With a life plagued by deception, greed, and misfortune, he threw away his past, changed his attitude, and changed his outlook on the world. So much time had been wasted, Landon did not know if he could make anything out of his life anymore; his peers were already focusing on their expertises, while he had no talent to describe thanks to his churlish antics for the past many years. Although he did not want to, Landon knew that he would have to dive into his studies and work to become a decorated cadet at his Academy not only because he needed to graduated, but in honor of the woman who gave him a place to call home.

Now, only a year since his mother's death, Landon exists as a questionable entity, not quite finding his place in the world, and now having no social clique to rely on to carry him through life. Now, he was on his own. Now, he had to make his own path to follow, without holding anyone's hand along the way.

We are always opened:D

Welcome to the number one club in this forum!!!!!!

Although sometimes we are a bit random...

Damn, I didn't have to do all that... I just PM'd Julius with 'Hey, can I join the SeeDs' and he was like 'You're in!' Boom. Just like that.

We did say a quick bio for a reason.
What you shoulda said is: Oi, lemme join ya?

Oh and Ffguy, if you were to keep boosting stats, won't they be rather ineffective by the time you reach a decent level?
