yay i have a pic! thanks edenseed

The murals sent my imagination flowing countless times, whenever I looked at them. The careful orchestration of the storyline is truly outstanding.

And like everything else, the story they tell comes full-circle eventually. Remarkable stuff.

By the way, I finally bought Soul Reaver 1 yesterday. :monster:

Ah good choice, have you seen Raziel's brothers in action yet? They are quite scary, if Raziel didn't have his wits they prob would have won.

They aren't really mentioned much in future games though. Apart from Turel, i was glad when i could finally exact some vengeance on him. Very satisfying :)

Unfortunately, I didn't have my memory card with me, so I couldn't record up to where I was. Though I'd already faced Dumah's offspring and that of Melchiah's. Easy wins, easy souls. :monster:

Though I was a bit stuck as I recall. I managed to move a bunch of boxes around to open two gates which... lead into the same area. I'm probably missing something, but it annoyed me... greatly.

You will get there. There are a lot of secrets in it. There is a part of the game where you see the remains of Nupraptors retreat, you find a glyph spell there but because of the fog effect it looks really spooky.

Melchiah look pretty good compared to his offspring. The good bit comes when you meet Kain, the music still gives me goose bumps :D

Well I am actually replaying every single LOK game I have:

Blood Omen- Must buy new copy + Memory Card for PS1
Blood Omen 2- Done
Soul Reaver 1- must get PS1 Memory Card
Soul Reaver 2- Done
Legacy of Kain: Defiance- Done (yesterday)

After replaying LOK Defiance for the fourth time I admit I really sure enjoy when Kain encounters Moebius in the Vampire Citadel.

Moebius: "At long last, Kain is dead."

Kain: "You are a bit premature"

Moebius: "Kain?!"

Kain: "Is there a crack in your omniscience?"

Moebius: *tries to use the staff against Kain but it but it was useless*

Kain: "First your omniscience, now your powers...you are slipping badly." :monster:

So after about ten minutes of bashing, wondering why my attacks weren't hurting, and attempting drain some loose souls to re-coop my health... I finally worked out how to beat Melchiah. Pity I needed to only do three things to kill him... Also, he looked pretty shit. I almost felt sorry for the guy. xD

I'm in the Sanctuary of the Guilds now... or whatever it's called. Got bored and decided to play Defiance for a bit. I'm not looking forward to that whole sequence through Vorador's mansion all over again... it takes so long. :(

And welcome back, Julius. :monster:

I am playing through Defiance at the moment too. I did notice that some of the chambers in Vorador's mansion contained Raziel's symbol, you know the one from the material around his neck. Coincidence?

Is Defiance the one where you meet Turel?

Melchiah? Yeah poor thing, you should see his older brothers :p

Also was Kain supposed to be the Hylden champion that fought the Vampire champion (Raziel)?

I... never noticed that before. =O

Yes. He was replaced by Morlock... or something, in Soul Reaver 1. I liked the fact they left him out though. Had I played SR1 upon its release, I'd have eagerly awaited such a confrontation.

I have. :monster: Though he still looks shit. Only got half a body for crying out loud.

...... wtfffffffffffff? The entire game gave evidence to the contrary. xD The main points being:

1.
The Champion of the Hylden race, as depicted throughout Defiance, bore a flaming sword. Raziel's Soul Reaver, anyone?

2.
The theory that Raziel was the hero of the vampire race was concluded in Soul Reaver 2, when Janos learns that he misread the signs.

Pretty obvious, I'd say. :P

But Raziel carried all versions of the Soul Reaver at some point. And he was more to do with the Reaver than Kain was.

It doesn't explain why Raziel had wings though and Kain didn't.

EDIT: Or was it a plot twist do you mean?

"But" nothing. xD The flaming sword is a representation of the Reaver which Raziel carries. Nothing else to it.

Raziel having wings hasn't got anything to do with the plot though. It just... happened. All Kain's children eventually metamorphesized and gained something Kain didn't... means nothing.

The thing about Raziel being the Vampire's savior was disproved, as I said before, in SR2. We steadily come to understand that Kain is the Vampire hero, whilst Raziel is supposedly the champion of the Hylden... which isn't necessarily true. However, the murals depict that they do fight, and that's what matters, there's the big bang to the plot.

Mmm, yes.

It does mention all that in Defiance, i can't believe i forgot all of the dialogue near the end of it!

Although it doesn't explain that Raziel was in actual fact very much indeed a vampire, he was sired by Kain and fed off the blood of men. Not sure how he became the Hylden's Champion. As Mobius himself said, it mattered not which side Raziel thought he was on, it didn't matter as long as he killed Kain, Raziel could have chosen to be its saviour. So much for Prophecy, Raziel was the the only one who had free will but he had a destiny that he couldn't escape from in the end, ironic.
