The Paths of Tragedy

Zeria finally decided that she needed to talk with these people, because they knew about many things, so she left the man's shadow and rose up from the floor. How would the men react?

"Please excuse the intrusion, gentlemen, but I must ask some things of you. I am Zeria Iiyasei of the Balamb Garden Military Academy. Pleased to meet you"

She gave an informal bow and smiled...

Wylliam picked up his spear and started after Jake, delighting in the intelligence portrayed in the young man. It wasn't often he met someone quite so well read, but it wasn't often he met aliens for that matter.

"You mustn't misunderstand me," he said, leaping to Jake's side, "I'm certainly no war monger. I rather liked the setup I had before the war erupted, taking contracts from anyone in need, having no encumbering ties to particular powers." Wylliam laughed and continued, "Actually, that's why I left my District Order of Dragoons. I simply couldn't ignore the corruption inherent in the systemized empowerment of people simply for being strong."

Wylliam lapsed into momentary silence as he reflected on his years spent in the order. "Aldabra is actually my land of origin," he said suddenly, his eyes looking ahead but his focus revolving around his reflections, "I met my best friend their, another lad who shared my ideals. He was highly skilled. Not as skilled as I, of course, but easily the best swordsman there. I would like to think that he, too, has left Aldabra, but I can't be sure."

Wylliam turned his smile to Jake. "Actually, you remind me a lot of him. Yep, a bit longer hair and a snore coming from your mouth and I'd be traveling with Skaol again."

"Skaol? That's a...different name." Jake sighed. "So, this Aldabra...sounds like a great place. Absolutely amazing." His smile was wide, and his voice was rich with sarcasm.

Jake had taken notice of the man's weapon. It was a rather odd spear, and it reminded Jake of something; he just couldn't remember for all the world what it was.

Jake leapt to the left, jumping on another rooftop. "So," he called, ignoring the straw that flew in his face, "Where di you get that spear? That thing looks wicked."

OOC: So Zeria, You popped up behind us?
I hope I got that right, if not, this post will be in wain.
-----------------------

"Please, call me Jonad, I'm no knight" Jonad stated as his food came.

The barkeep placed it in front of Jonad. And stretched out his hand to collect payment.
Jonad fumbled in the money pouch, and payed the amount needed.

He started eating, followed by drinking his ale.

It was a rather funny view actually, Jonad, a healer and doctor. On top of that, a medicine maker. Drinking alcohol at every given time. Though not much, but still, ideas can form

Jonad took a quick break in eating ,and faced Cairn "You have planned everything I guess" he smiled, as he resumed eating.

"Please excuse the intrusion, gentlemen, but I must ask some things of you. I am Zeria Iiyasei of the Balamb Garden Military Academy. Pleased to meet you"

Was suddenly heard from behind.
Jonad didn't remember hearing footsteps, but dismissed it on him being tired.

He had heard nothing about any of the things she mentioned. Not her name, nor the placed she mentioned.
She had to be a friend, or acquaintance of the others.

At least she didn't look to be one that planned to attack.

"Well, If you insist, Cairn. Waiter, Get me a glass of water."

"One glass of water, coming right up." The bartender said as he cleans a glass to fill it up with some cold water.

"Here you go."

"Thanks for the water." As he begun to drink his water, a mysterious figure has appeared from his shadow.

"Please excuse the intrusion, gentlemen, but I must ask some things of you. I am Zeria Iiyasei of the Balamb Garden Military Academy. Pleased to meet you"

'That voice. It can't be? It has to be...' He thought as he turned around, noticing Zeria behind him and the others. "Well, it seems it has been a long time, Zeria. What brings you to this place? If you want, you can join us, here, take a seat. So, what have you been up to lately?"

Zeria smiled at Arthvader, glad to have someone who did recognize her.

"Arthvader, you're right. It has been a long time. Since I left the academy after Julius..."

She stopped for a moment, letting sorrow fill her eyes. It was a painful memory she'd rather leave between them for now.

"Anyways, I am here to gain information, per usual. Have you had any news of Julius? Or what about Hejaloki?"

She bowed to the other gentlemen at the table and sat next to Arthvader with a sigh.

"Thank you for allowing me to sit, I'm very weary after my long journeys...and I'm sorry if I've startled anyone by popping up from the shadows. My deepest apologies"

Raven, holding the iron longsword in his right hand prepared for the demon that was to attack, in seconds his opponent arrived, it seemed to have picked up his presence. As Raven readied his sword he saw that the demon had a much stronger weapon, knowing he could not beat it in his human form he raised his left hand in front of his foe and clicked his fingers, then in two seconds his body was engulfed by blue light and then a small blue light. When he returned to the floor he was in his demonic form, his opponent stepped back slightly but then grinned menacingly and flew toward his enemy and charged at Raven. Knowing what to do Raven unsheathed his twin demon blades and defended the blow in an X shape. Then, before the demon could knock him back Raven charged ice energy into his swords and forced the demon back. Then as the demon recoiled he let loose an ice laser. The laser, though it found its target only hit its left foot, the remainder of the attack headed towards the town walls. As Cain rose above the laser he unleashed his stored gravity energy and flung it like a ball at Raven's torso, sending him into a nearby house, smashing the wall's foundations.

In the inn, Damian's body temperature was beginning to return to normal, thanks to all the hot water and the heat of the sun, he still was not quite warm enough however. Raven wouldn't be able to hold off Cain Delvo for long...

Wylliam opened his mouth to respond, but accidently inhaled the straw kicked up from Jake's leap. Coughing, he struggled to keep his balance, and finally managed to find his voice.

"My spear?" he asked, holding it a little in front of him, "The craftsmanship is nothing too special, though I am glad I found a smith that could fashion a head of mithril for it. Absolutely invaluable for heavy duty piercing."

Gazing absently at the spear, his eyes found the familiar piece of cloth fluttering behind the head.

"This cloth is a corner from Skaol's cape," Wylliam continued, "it is that which makes this spear unlike any other. As long as I fight with it, I not only carry on my ideals, but his as well."

Wylliam laughed again. "Of course, I'm sure this all sounds ridiculously sentimental, but that's the way it is."

He looked over at Jake. "What about that ungodly large sword? Any special signifigance there?"

Jake grinned from ear to ear. "No, I found it, actually. It's a cool sword; it's huge, but it feels as light as a feather to me. I dunno, it seems to suit me. I hate to fight people unfairly, and it looks like the sword works like that; I can't break anybody's weapons with it, no matter how hard I hit with it."

"I found it about a year or so ago, when I was on another planet. I had to go through a crapload of trials and tests and junk just to get it. The great thing is, though, I'm the only one that can wield the sword. If anybody else tries to use it, it burns them. Only those who defeat the former wielder can wield it, and they must be pure of heart." He smiled reminiscently. "Guess I really ain't all that evil."

"You don't sound sentimental," Jake said. "There's nothing wrong with having a memory or person that you treasure." In a small voice, he said, "I know what it's like to have to give up what I love..." He shook his head as he shot along the rooftops. "Ack, looks like I got some sentimentality stuck in my throat."

"Anyway, what about you? Where do you come from?" They were almost to the inn, and Jake wanted to find out as much as he could from this potential ally.

"A sword only you can use, huh? Sounds pretty handy. No chance of theft, and succession is determined through a battle between two pure souls..."

Wylliam chuckled. "Good luck finding even five totally pure souls on this world. Though Skaol has got to be somewhere in that number."

He inhaled deeply the night air and allowed his mind to once again return to the past. "For the first eighteen years of my life, I lived in an out-of-the-way district of Aldabra. I was born into a noble family, so one might say I was raised with the proverbial silver spoon in my mouth."

"When I was eight, my parents, in an attempt to gain even more political favor, hired a tutor to train me in combat. He was the one that introduced me to the concept of morality."

"I grew weary of my existential parents, so I finished my training in the district's Apprentice Order. That's where I met Skaol."

Wylliam grinned even wider as he continued. "Never has there been two brothers that could boast of a stronger bond than the one he and I shared. That's what made the day we were divided into the different Orders so difficult. Thus, the exchange of cape cloth. I'd like to think, wherever he is now, he still has that corner tied to his rapier."

"The day before graduation from my Order, I stumbled across evidence of corruption that implicated several higher ranking officers of the District. Disgusted, I left and tracked down my old tutor, staying with him for three years. And now," he said, gesturing to himself, "here I am. A mercenary with an ever listening ear, waiting for any news of Skaol to cross my path."

Wylliam squinted into the dark. "If I'm not mistaken, we should be coming up on the inn at any moment."

------------------------------------

((OOC)): Hope no one minds, but I'm unfreezing Skaol.

((IC)):Skaol shook his head and picked up the unconscious man, placing him on his bed. "You should be fine 'til... *yawn*... morning." He then made his way back to his room, dropping into his bed and falling asleep immeadiately.

The following morning, Skaol left the inn and started the long road back to Aldabra. He was not looking forward to reporting his failure to trace the deserter, but there were greater losses in life. While on the road, he was intercepted by an undercover Aldabran messenger. Taking the missive from him, he unfurled it, scanned the contents, and rolled it back up with a sigh.

"Very well. Please relay to His Majesty that I shall do my best, though he ought to know that stealth is not my specialty..."

With that, Skaol turned around and began riding back to Vaid, a journey that would be punctuated with frequent naps.

(((Let's speed things up)))

"Well we must leave as soon as possible...." Cairn finished his breakfast and then stepped up to leave the bar. As he opened the door that would lead him outside, Cairn's face was slightly illuminated by the first rays of the morning sun that entered through the doorway. His eyes reflected a deepening sorrow, for he was a fallen knight, dishonorable discharged, deceived and used by those he once considered as friends. As he walked, he could hear the whisper of the wind foretelling of his ill fate, one full of death, sorrow and betrayal. Cairn's heart felt shattered by these tormenting thoughts, not noticing that he already arrived the entrance of the town and that Gade had already prepared the horses for the journey.

"I see you have our transportation ready. Good, now we wait."

Gade agreed to what Cairn commented as Gade got on horseback and awaited for the rest of the group. As soon as they arrived, they would leave to meet the king at the City of Palacious.

Jonad had completed his meal, and his ale.
As he was enjoying himself. Cairn broke out "Well we must leave as soon as possible...." as he walked, and opened the door.

He said a few words, most likely to Gade, as he exited.
Jonad where to follow.
He git out of the chair, and nodded to the barkeep.

He walked towards the open door. The sun shining brightly inside.
As Jonad exited the door, the painful rays if the sun, sting him as needles in the eyes.
He immediately took up the hood, and followed Cairn.
"I hate this" he mumbled to himself, regarding the insanely strong sun.

"Sorry that I can't stay any longer, Zeria, but I have to go now. May we see each other later on."

Those were his words as he left the Inn. As he stepped out of the Inn, the sun was shining very brightly. Despite the fact that he got partially blinded from the sudden light of the sun as he stepped out, Arthvader followed Cairn to the front of the town. As he arrived at the front. Arthvader noticed the horses that the group will be using as their mode of transportation.

"Ah, I see. I guess these horses would be our ride then, huh, Cairn?"

"Yeah, as soon as we reach the city, I would like to check up the Colosseum. They say there's a tournament being hosted by an old lord. A good amount of money will be given to the winner. Anyone interested? HA! We will see who will win!"

Cairn said moments before holding firmly the reins and making his horse rush at top speed. Cairn was riding on a white stallion, with the forehead shielded by an armor made for the horse, a mane as soft as silk and as white as the brightest of stars, and finally with such black, pure, deep eyes staring at the horizon that could pierce through the blackest of armors born out of injustice and blindness. It would at least take them 2 days to arrive to the city, and who knows what lies on their path to pursue their destiny.

Zeria ran out to follow Arth, but they'd already started off.

"Damnit! Nobody ever waits for me! There's no way I'll be able to keep up like this!"

She took off running after. If she could at least slow them down for a moment, she could enter one of their shadows and move along with them. Her eyes turned forest green.

"Natura, artis magistra!"

Vines would begin lashing up in front of the warriors, and the earth would start blockading them. Now, there was a barrier of vines, with roses blooming up and down them...

OOC: I don't know if it is too late to jump in here, and I don't know if it is even worth starting in a specific town, but I will start where you guys left off...

*Necro Cloud was waiting for unsuspecting travelers to come by, so that he could hit them with a surprise attack and steal their money. He then saw people on horses heading in his direction, he readied his swords and used his special attack....*

GETSUGA TENSHO!.....

OOC @ Dark Lusi: aren't you Crane in this RP?
-------------------------------
Jonad had mounted the given horse, he had slight problems, since it had been a while since he rode.
Nonetheless, he managed to get the horse to listen.

shortly after departure, a wall of blooming vines where ahead. He forced the horse to a stop, and wondered what went on here.

He ignored it for now, perhaps ask his companions later.
He was slowed to a full stop for a few seconds, and had to slowly walk around it, he didn't really want the horse to damage itself.

As he went around, he again set speed to catch up with the others.

OOC @Zeria: that should be enough time your need to enter my shadow ^^

Zeria took the perfect opportunity to race forward and leapt through.

"Pulvis et umbra sumus!"

She merged with the shadow of the man and focused hard, maintaining herself within that shadow. She hope that she'd have enough strength to hold out. Surely they would have to rest at some point, in which she would leave the shadow and rest as well. Had anyone heard her voice call out the words to activate her spell? She hoped not, or if one of them knew the spell, she'd be caught. Especially now because the man's shadow took on her figure...

The road they've been taking to reach the city of Palacius was mysteriously blocked by a barricade that seemed to sprout from the ground as by magic, aligned to the attribute of "nature" which was a combination of the elements "earth" and "wind". Fortunately for Cairn, his weapon was currently holding within its enchanted orb the elemental power of "fire", thus granting him the ability to use his arsenal of fire based spells. Cairn restrained his force from advancing and subsequently sheathed his mighty sword as he prepared to cast one of his enchantments. "Flamma Incantamentum!! Taste the might of the Flaming Edge!"" Cairn gathers heat around him to summon flames to surround his sword, thus increasing the sword's strength and range from its normal length to 3 inches more. The sword is engulfed with a burst of fire that leaves a trail of flames with each swing. His sword blazing as a ferocious inferno, it only took a swing of his sword to ignite a burst of flames around the barrier of vines and flowers, scorching them almost instantly. Thus done, Cairn dispelled his enchantment and the fires around the edge of his blade faded as the wind carried the ashes that were all that was left of the once mighty barrier. As he saw that others were catching up, Cairn gave the command to keep moving forward to reach the base of Mt. Saer, that was just an hours away on horseback. "We got to keep moving! If we are pursued by someone , probably bandits from the nearby areas. We must not give them a chance to catch us! Let's go!!!" Cairn held the reins tightly as he moved them swiftly giving the order to advance to his horse.

Hejaloki and Julius was in the chapel vault.

A Vault filled with ancient artifacts and priceless treasures. Hejaloki was looking for an old medallion he use to wear long ago. It was forged from the power of holy.

Julius was standing guard at the vault door.

"I know it has to be here." Hejaloki said to himself.

He stroked his beard and using his magic to move objects around.

There was a good bit of priceless treasures to look through. Then he caught a glint out of the corner of his eye. He turned and look and there it was. A simple silver ring with a blue sapphire in the middle of it. Hejaloki picks it up and puts it on. Covering it with his beard.

"Time to go back to the chapel hall and try to convince the mortals, of future dangers."
