Ok, as you may already know, the RPG Inferno was reset once again which means we are back to square one, a complere fresh start. To honor that idea, the RPG Directors have decided to implement new ideas and concepts in this game as well as changing some of the elements of the game. The prime element we want to change is the World Map. At the moment, we have a fine World Map, still creating a new game in an old map isn't so much of a fresh start, is it? Of course not! Hence, why this Tournament.

Hera are a few suggesttions:
1) The suggested map MUST BE better than the one we are using.
2) It must be between this size parameters between 800px X 400px, or 800px X 500 px.
3) It must have a considerable amount of land (like 1/2 of the map to be water.
4) It is preferible for the mainland to be surrounded by water.
5) Islands and mainlands are highly appealing (hint)
6) It is greatly encouraged if you can edit the map you find, but if you submit one created by another person, always bear in mind that you must share the credit with the original author (if you can't find who he/she is...well...meh....)

Oh and the rewards. A coloured usertitle and the possibility to choose between one of the following:
1) 15,000 Gil
2) Special Attack Type? Spell?
3) Special Area for your Clan (whether it is a RPG Inferno Clan or a GFX Clan) + Special Access Keys (Max 99) for your members (just to keep it members only). The Gatewaye will be an NPC.

A Special Attack Type? Sounds cool, I might give it a go if i can come up with something... What colour will our names change to? Is it a personal choice or something?
 
Properly either Red ,which I doubt, or a colour that is not currently being used by staff. I say it should be a variation of red to signify relation to the Inferno.
 
after looking at the specs for the map, then i believe it might be a good idea to use our planet's world map, considering the distribution of Islands (carribian), vast Ocean and also the considerable amount of land masses (Europe says it all) it is a well balanced map, and would be a good idea.

Maybe some editing as well. No offense, but it could use some. The countries are still there and overall it is just hard to make it look good.

Obviously there would have to be the removal of all the white parts of it, so Editing will be needed, bit it would still make a good map for the RPG
 
There is a limit on the attack type or spell that a member can get, no?
 
If I find a suitable World Map that I think looks good somewhere over the Internet, I may participate, giving credit to the image's creator if I can find out whose it is.

But I am curious, when will the results for this tournament be? Because 1: I'd be nice to know how much time I have to work with. And 2: The RPG will probably be opened up not too long after there is a new world map for it, right...? At least I hope so, it is getting a little ways into the "new year" now, starting to be a stretch to say that after half a week. XD

Not really meaning to sound like I'm complaining, just pointing it out. :P
 
They can change the map after it is started, and I recommend a 2 week period of working on them. This would allow people time to create a good map.
 
Two weeks? ...It is going to be into February before the RPG is opened up, it won't be ready for the "new year!", it will be "happy new...month? LAME!". :P

J/k. I know everyone is working hard at getting the new RPG ready for this fresh start, just hope for it to be playable for as long as possible before it gets restarted again in the new year... >.>

I'll try my best to see if I can get you guys a nice world map, I can't promise anything, but I'd like my starfall spell back, so if I win this, I'd like that as my prize.

If I get a hold of something good, should I post it in here, or PM it to you, Julius?
 
From what I gather, anyone can use something of an other person's work, but giving the credit to the creator if known, and if not, then....well....meh. Right? :lol:

Anyways, I best get started, so just like the last time I gave it my all to win the Starfall spell, I am going to put everything into getting it back, assuming that is an option. Is it?

If not, I'm sure I could think of some other good spell in it's place, but I loved my Starfall spell, it was both stronger and lasted more turns than the Tornado spell...
 
Hey Julius could we use the old map and change the locations of the beginning areas when we get the map?
 
I agree with Kuhn... whoever wins the contest will want a really powerful spell that gives them an unfair advantage. Maybe there's another Castle Oblivion map besides that one which will have your specifications?
Oh, and I think that Starfall should be renamed Meteor (unless there's a Final Fantasy spell named Starfall) as the previous RPG went off of the FF theme. Everything (well almost everything) should be from a FF game.
 
Great job Klonoa! That's absolutely perfect. One of those even looks like the continent from FFIII with the Syrcus Tower on it.
