Well Ive just got past the lake scene after defeating Seymour Nateus and as I was watching the scene I noticed a few interesting things.

One was that when they were 'swimming' underwater, you could see a ring on Yunas hand...now I couldnt tell which hand it was on, but it certainly looked like the wedding finger...Why would Yuna still be wearing a ring from her wedding? (Thats IF they exchanged rings prior or as they were getting married (before Tidus and the gang arrived) Could anyone help with this?

Also, the subtitle text seems to 'float' and disperse rather strangely in this whole scene. It only happens every few lines, but I was wonder if this had something to do with all the graphics in this cut scene? Or maybe it was just an added effect?

On a final note, I kinda cried! Yeah, I know...But it feels to me as if you can really see how they feel about each other, even without seeing much interaction. The way Tidus talks about Zanarkand and the sunrise and such,...its really beautiful <3

Anyone else have any opinions or anything to say about this scene?

this scene has got to be one of my top cutscene in gaming... best love scene i ever seen

i agree with you on the lines.. some of the things tidus says during the scene is sooo sweet, it makes me wana cry... and wana see the scene again.. and the underwater bit at the end... it makes me wana cry again :')

on the ring note... they do finish the wedding.. if you remember
seymour kisses yuna after tidus and the others raid the wedding
during the wedding scene soo i can see the point of yuna still wearing the ring.... but i never noticed it :)

Yes. go buy the Movie sphere for this Scene in Luca and check again.......but dont cry this time:sad3:

It is a brilliant scene it lacks nothing it shouldn't, the scene finally establishes the feelings Yuna and Tidus feel for each other, the technical specification for the time were amazing and the liquid definition is/was very well done.

Um you can swim underwater.
Its not all that hard.

did'nt even know that you could do that loool :D sooo gonna watch out for that ring :D

and yh i know you can swim underwater but what makes me laugh is that there cloths are not wet afterwards :/

Omg when I first watched this scene while a friend played through it I thought it was so lame and tacky! I laughed at it.
Then when I played it through myself because i had gotten used to the characters and felt for them I found this scene to be one of the most amazing things i have ever seen!!

I never actually noticed the ring though, I was too busy swooning over the cuteness!

yep got to admit... this couscene is sooo cute :D

EDIT: OMG i need to learn to watch cutscenes in more details... i just rewatched the scene and she is wearing a ring :O took me a long time to notice but it right didn't notice until
Tidus and Yuna started kissing underwater
god that is sooo epic but omg yuna cheated on seymour

HAHA@ "Yuna cheated on Seymour"! xD But then...does is count as cheating if the person is dead anyway? :P

I was also wondering why their clothes werent wet after, and why Tidus would just walk in the water with all his clothes on, but the scene is too amazing to let them small things bother me much :P

I used quote tags on swimming, cos it looked like they were kinda drifting more than anything ^^

Dude its Spira:srsly:

There clothes are designed to be wet:lew: dont you know that?
its not cheating unless you love the Person, and Yunie clearly had no affection for the Guado douchbag, mainly objection and despisement.

All in all a very tender scene:ryan:

Haha yeah, I guess their clothes are designed to withstand the wet! I would say with the exclusion of Tidus, but then again, he is a blitzball champ :P

You're touching on ethics there, with regards to cheating. But then again, it depends how you define love etc. But I wont derail my own thread. Just a thought :)

Even though I liked other aspects of the story better than Tidus/Yuna, I did think this scene was very well done, and quite refreshing considering most of the couples in the previous FFs never shared kisses onscreen :hmmm:

hmmm now that i think about it, this was the first ff to have a kissing scene.... but i think this scene could be a bit better if the whole scene was in CGI :D

For the ring on Yuna's hand, she actually wears a few accessories. It's one of the first things I noticed when I realized FFX had pretty good graphics. She does already have at least one ring and some bracelets. I don't think the ring was from Seymour.

I was going to point out what Fusionist did...that I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure Yuna wore her own ring throughout the whole game. I don't even think rings were exchanged at the wedding, although they may have been, who knows.

Actually...
I think the first FF to have a kissing scene (that I know of) was FFVIII...after all of the credits had ended. Squall pulls Rinoa into a kiss on the balcony. I can't recall about FFI-VI, though...

I think you can see the ring during the whistling scene in Luca as well as the talk in the Mi'ihen Highroad during the sunset.

The best time to see it (before she even met Seymour) was on the boat to Kilika, as well as the first time they talked. She might possibly have two rings. I think I saw one on her pinkie finger once.

If Seymour did have a ring for her, I doubt he even had enough time to put it on her finger for the ceremony assuming they even had that tradition in Spira, given the airship showed up before they could even finish walking the aisle. Everyone's opening fire to shoot it down.

I guess gunfire and pyreflies is better than throwing rice? :busta:

I'm not going to bother spoiler tagging it considering it happened before the Lake scene, which is the title of this thread.
