I was thinking about this a few days ago.
Would the characters from non-voiced Final Fantasies (I-IX) resonate with as many people had they been voiced by an actor?
Its like reading a book and seeing a movie for me. Almost every movie based on a book has let me down in someway because nothing in reality is ever as good as I imagined it. The written word allows my mind to impose my own thoughts, basis, personality and inflection on the dialogue, characters and situations.
So my question is this:
Would the 'annoying' characters of Final Fantasy be less annoying if they weren't voice acted and vice versa?
Would the 'strong' characters be weaker if they weren't voice acted and vice versa?
For example: Would Vanille be as annoying in text as she is in sound? I know that who is doing the voice plays a MASSIVE role in the character - but I think the topic is still very interesting to discuss.
