WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Two teenagers were accused of gang raping a woman and forcing her 12-year-old son to join in the attack, then beating him and pouring cleaning solution into his eyes.

Authorities allege Avion Lawson, 14, and Nathan Walker, 16, were among a group of about 10 masked suspects who forced their way into the woman's apartment in a crime-ridden housing project the night of June 18.

The two were being held without bail Friday on suspicion of armed sexual battery by multiple perpetrators, sexual performance by a child, armed home invasion and aggravated battery. Both were arrested this week, but formal charges had not been filed. Authorities said the two would be charged as adults.

"Any rape case is horrible but this takes it to another level, something you can't think of even in your worst dreams," police spokesman Ted White said.

According to the police report, a man knocked on the woman's door at about 9 p.m. and told her he had a flat tire. The mother and son, whom police have not identified, went outside and were ambushed by a group of gun-wielding suspects.

The victims told police they were forced back into their home and beaten and sexually assaulted. According to authorities, the men raped, sodomized and beat the woman, then forced her son to participate in the assault at gunpoint, making him have sex with his mother in front of them.

The boy was then beaten and had numerous household cleaning liquids poured into his eyes, according to the police report.

The suspects also stole a few hundred dollars worth of cash and jewelry, White said.

White said more arrests were expected, but he would not say whether authorities had identified additional suspects. The teens in custody were not cooperating, but Lawson confessed to taking part in the attack, White said. Walker has denied involvement, White said.

DNA evidence in a condom found in the victims' home linked Lawson to the crime, police said. Investigators also say they found a palm print belonging to Walker at the scene.

The victims did not suffer life-threatening injuries and have been released from the hospital, White said.

"They're going through the county victim services for counseling," he said.

Lawson lived in Dunbar Village, the hardscrabble project where the attack occurred. Walker was apparently visiting a friend there, White said.

Authorities believe the suspects all knew each other from the neighborhood, but they don't think they knew the victims directly.

Prosecutors have 21 days from the time a suspect is arrested to formally file charges. Lawson was arrested Tuesday. Walker was arrested Thursday.

Walker made a first court appearance on Friday, after which his father, also named Nathan Walker, spoke briefly.

"My son has a good heart," the elder Walker said outside court. "I can't believe my son would do something like this. I don't teach my son violence so I don't understand."

Walker's attorney, Robert Gershman, said Friday he intended to enter a not guilty plea on behalf of his client once charges are formally filed. He would not comment further.

A telephone message left at the office of Lawson's public defender was not immediately returned.

I hate stories like this. These men are beyond disgusting and should be given the death penalty IMO. Scum like that dont deserve to live among normal people.

My heart and prayers go out to that poor mother and son and their family. This is something that shouldnt be repeated. Sick bastards.
 
I wish cruel and unusual torture was a method of punishment for asswipes like this. Seriously, the kid is going to be scarred for life. He'll probably become an antisocial emo and kill himself. If not him first, then the mother. Bastards like this don't deserve to live.

IMO, they should be stoned to death. Or like, strapped down and getting shot somewhere that would really hurt, like in the fucking kneecap. And then every 10 minutes someone would come back and shoot them again. And if they passed out, they could wait for them to wake up again and impale them with a great big 2x4 and stick them with a bunch of sewing needles. :monster:
 
What in God's name was in those people's heads?? I say a slow and painful death. Or something like an acid bath every one hour so that they could feel the way they will burn in Hell.

No what we do is chemical castration, and keep the bastards alive forver rotting in jail on scarps. For meals they can lick the sucm off of the prison shower floors cause thats what they deserve to eat sucm thats slightly better then them. All the while they dont have what makes them think they are actually men.
 
They're still people, no matter how disgusting that crap is. That is horrible though but they'll get what's coming to them. Shit like that spirals out of control though with bad crowds, big crowds, drugs and alcohol. I'm sure all of those factors played a heavy role in what occurred there. Honestly on an individual basis none of them are as horrific as it seems like they are. I'm not defending what they did but I don't believe anyone is more or less than anyone else, no matter what they do. We're all in the same boat and we're all capable of things like this if the circumstances are right and we're too weak to overcome them.
 
Someone posted this story up on another forum I visit not too long ago. All I want to know is what causes a group of people to wake up one morning and decide to rape the shit out of some mother and son? How does that even sound like a good idea? And even if it's a spur of the moment thing, who the fuck agrees it's a good idea to make the son fuck the mother? How the hell do you even broach that one? Which one of the little fuckers suddenly says "Hey guys...this one's a little far out there but bear with me..."

The hell do you mean "men"? They were twisted adolescents, and even if they had been full grown adults the term "men" wouldn't apply to them. And what the hell do you expect? It was committed by a bunch of black teens in a ghetto, black neighborhood.

That's just sad. They wanted a better life, and what are they met with in "the home of the free"? A gang rape by fucking black gangsters. Gotta love black culture that stems from ghettos. No more jazz and blues coming out of impoverished neighborhoods. Nope. Now we have gangsters.

Gah, i deeply apologize, that really did come out bad >__< I have nothing against blacks, honestly. It just seems that most of the news we find coming out of ghettos is just violence perpetrated by blacks, and i don't really understand it. Seemed a couple decades ago they were just trying to better themselves and not making music that idolized violence and belittled women. I dont know why it's gone downhill, although it's probably got something to do with the fact that we don't exactly spend our tax money on useful things, like bettering neighborhoods so impoverished black kids (or mexicans in barios) can make something of themselves and have better influences than gangsters

America is supposed to be such a great country, where anyone can come to and get a better life, but we have so much crime and poverty and we really don't do anything to help that. We just ignore it and let it fester and grow worse. I don't blame it on the blacks, or mexicans, or whoever else. They don't have genes that make them more prone to violence, it's simply the environments they live in. And while something as simple as that could be fixed, it's not. So that only leads to violence getting worse, and then situations like these happen to poor immigrants.

Although, in this case, i would say these specific kids had some serious mental issues, cuz no violent rap that i've heard even comes close to what they did. And i'm sorry about the profanity too, i'll try to tone it down.
 
I always have mixed feelings when I read stuff like this...on one hand, I get very very angry, and start thinking stuff like "they deserve to die, death is too good for them, they should be horrifically tortured first, and blah blah blah.."

Then on the other hand, I remember "these are human beings too, with rights just like everyone else...."

But then again, I think "but what kind of human being worth his weight would do something like this? Or even consider actually doing something like this?"

And then it leads me back to the whole "they deserve to die" mindset.

In the end though, I feel more depressed then angry, because as sad as it is to say, no matter what happens to these kids (assuming they even find all of them, which is unlikely in the first place) it will not be justice in any sense at all. The mother and her child will still be scarred for life, and the child will most likely grow up to hate the world, and either become a killer/rapist himself, or just commit suicide after his mother does (which is very likely).

I usually agree with the quote "everybody deserves a second chance", but it's people like this that really make me question that philosophy

This is a pretty horrible story. Why...if something like that happened between me and (let's say my father), I think I would never talk to my own dad again. The kind of thing that emotionally tears a family apart. That's a shame.

I...don't know what to say about "should they live or should they die". It's a very opinionated matter. Some would agree, and some would disagree. Sometimes I think that we should actually use the "eye for an eye" form of punishment here in America, but...that's just MY humble opinion.

Blaaarg >_< I'm not racist, that just came out very very badly. It could just as easily have been whites or asians...except, lets face it, it's mostly blacks who live in ghettos and...well, it might not be mostly blacks who commit crimes, but it seems to be that you usually only hear about blacks committing them.

Alot of situations like what happened to those poor immigrants (and alot of crime in general) could be avoided if we put some actual effort into rebuilding neighborhoods instead of the few sporadic groups that go around and rebuild a couple at a time. The whole thing begs to ask "what leads to crime in ghettos?" and it's pretty much because they're low income parts of society with little else to turn to for income/possessions except crime. Then of course in the south you have the whole white trash/redneck thing to deal with too <.<

Now as for why these kids did that horrible stuff to the mother and son....i really have no idea. I think living in an impoverished community with druggie fathers (or no fathers) and only gangsters to look up to definitely plays a huge influence in black crime....but i don't think it would inspire what they did, that's just plain mental issues.

As for should they live or die...that's a tough one. As i said, they probably have severe mental issues, so they may or may not be curable with therapy and rehab. If they're curable, and it really is mental problems, then they still might have a chance to become productive members of society. If they're not curable...they'll likely spend the remainder of their time in a prison or a mental hospital, which is a waste of taxpayers' money. But if you look at it in that light, it's almost as if you're comparing them to animals at a shelter that should be put down because they're not going to be adopted. I suppose letting them live would be the more humane thing to do.

I honestly think that any form of mental trauma or derangement is curable in some way shape or form. As for having the proper knowledge and understanding to cure something like that? As we all know, humans use less than 10% (or arguably 2%) of their brains. Finding a cure would be just as hard as finding a means of using the rest of your brain space.
Humans are programmable; most (mammals let's say) are. You can teach a person to believe anything. You can persuade, force, or brainwash a person into having any belief or realization that you want them to have. I think it's just as easy to brainwash a person out of mental trauma as it is to pressure them into it.
These kids are curable methinks.
 
I hope to god they're curable...but your post begs to ask, wtf would brainwash them into doing what they did? O_O Crummy societies lead to crime, sure, but not sick stuff like that.
 
You know something, I think it's mostly an influential thing. How many kids do you know that are truely F'd up in the head? There are a select few weirdos here and there who want you to believe that they're sadistic, but...you have to experience some kind of trauma or have some form of wrongful influence earlier on in life to think that this kind of thing is logical.

Obviously, a 30 year old man who lead a perfectly normal life with a perfectly nice family, and normal events is less likely to have a sadistic idea like this one pop into his head on a random day.

This mentality has to develop over time. You and I can sit here and think "what would it be like if I raped and murdered another person". You can think about it without having a desire to do it though. A person can even persuade them self to have ideas and intentions like this by repetitively envisioning it on a constant basis.
Normally though, it would be unusual I think to develop sadistic thoughts like this without some form of motivation.

In this situation, I think the event was lead by a ring leader. Like I said...there are those of use who want to be seen as sadistic or scary...and when someone walks along who has the motivation to act on "real" intentions, the rest will follow just for the pleasure of being involved, without the pressure of being in charge.
 
So then...what would the motivation be? To teach foreigners not to come into their neighborhood? o_O

I don't know...i have a hard time thinking that anyone would persuade themselves to have ideas like that. I suppose you cant really know for sure...i'm sure whatever psychologist questions them will figure it out, but i doubt their motives (at least in detail) would be told to the public...
 
In cases like these one i think they should be treated as the scum they are and not human beings...

I mean you´re going to have a traumatized 12 year old boy for the rest of his life, you´re going to have a traumatized woman for having forced sex with her son, while those bastards stood there watching after they had raped the woman and if that was not enough they still beat up the kid...how can you even call them human beings?

The solution to me would be simple first they should be tortured and then they should be sentance to death!!!
 
Don't forget the cleaners they poured in the poor kid's eyes....

The death penalty does have one huge advantage: it would help deter crime like that by saying "hey, you do this kinda crap and you're gonna die."

Not to mention the whole justice system is messed up. People commit crimes and they get thrown in prison. Wow. That's such a punishment. So they may be forced to toss someone's salad, big deal. They get free food, free TV, and free health care. That's not much incentive to stay away from crime.

IMO, we should go back to things like public executions and dungeons. That may sound barbaric, but think about it for a sec. With public executions, both upstanding citizens and would-be criminals will get to see first hand what happens if you break the law, that would be a pretty big deterrent. With dungeons, the thought of hanging from a wall in shackles with rats gnawing at your emaciated body is much more unsettling than having a bed and TV and whatever medicine you need.

It might not be nice and sweet and humane, but these are criminals we're dealing with, and it would see a huge decrease in crime. And then our jails and prisons could just be used for lesser criminals, like ones who have stolen out of survival or did a bit of drunk driving.
