Alas, disturbing links always tempt. Like I was tempted to click and read that MCR fanfic on DA even though I knew it would be shit...Actually I didn't click it, but usually curiousity would overcome in that scenario.

That reminds me I totally found a funny picture on DA today that makes it all too clear why girls keep going to see the Twilight films. I'll bury it out when I can be arsed.

Makes quite a lot of sense, imo.

I do find it quite pathetic that people let it ruin all vampire films for them. Foo's need to be stronger minded. I mean, if this was the case, I would of let a LOT of fan fic I've read ruin vampires for me loooong before I even heard of Twilight. I hate my curiousity. :sad3:
 
It's pretty much just Stephanie Meyer's escapist fantasy. Bella's a huge Mary Sue. Really really awful as a character. I do like True Blood though. It's much better.

Actually, it didn't ruin vampire movies for everyone to the point where they can't watch a good one, just by association. It, in turn, ruined vampire movies as a whole. Hollywood will never make a good one again. There are no more good ones. :sad3:

But I'll be damned if I don't sit back and enjoy Dracula, or Interview with a Vampire just because Twilight is shittastic. :hmph:
 
Interview with a Vampire is an amazing film. And Dracula scared the shit out of me when I first watched it.

Alas, even vampires too, ya can't let it ruin it, you gotta be stronger than the Twilight effect as I shall dub it.

No, no, no, no, no. You're not getting me here.

If a vampire movie came out tomorrow, that looked good, I would go see it. If I enjoyed it, I would tell everyone that I did. Thus, not letting Twilight ruin vampires for me.

However, Twilight has ruined vampires, because it has killed the image for most people. Which is why Hollywood, or any movie producer period, will not make a good Vampire movie ever again. It's not that I'm letting it ruin vampires for me, it's the producers who are ruining for me, because they forgot how to make good vampire flicks.

In fact, they just forgot how to make good movies in general. :sad3:
 
Interview with a Vampire was fantastic. So was Dracula. Yeah, the new thing seems to be sparkly vampires which are not close to any sort of vampire lore I've ever read.
 
This new Vampires = Sex thing is ridiculous, Vampires are meant to be scary. They want to suck your blood, not suck you off.

And tbh, I do agree that the Hollywood film industry is naffin' up a bit. I've preffered the less mainstream route lately when it comes to films. Alas, with Indie films, I've concurred they can either be REALLY good, or REALLY shit.
 
Two pages late, but I'm STILL outside of Azalea. Leveling pokemon/had to do Slowpoke Well/lost my game/been busy :sad:

Also, TrueBlood <3 (or at least the books. The books are good. though they do use vampires = sex. But they're still good. Quite a bit of gore. :wacky: )

I like an edge of seduction to my vampires, rather than this complete monstrosity. But it has to be a dangerous attraction. Something with real, immediate consequence.

I mean, really, I loved the Barlow in the book version of Salem's Lot, while the wild, animal-like monster in the film version didn't hold any appeal for me. It was just this base, bloodsucking wild animal rather than a seductive, dangerous, cunning man, who just so happened to be able to drink your blood.
