which do you prefer up close and personal swords or out of harms way guns?

If I can keep my distance, I'd pick a groovy-looking gun any day of the week. Yazoo's gun, for example, would be an instant winner.
However in terms of general gaming, I'm all for the sword. There's always so much unnecessary imagination put into their development, I can't help but love 'em.

I say swords, but nothing too ornate, it has to have practical uses. N really really big. One where people wonder how you can lift somat that big.

in the FF game series i prefer swords, they make the game seem more fantasy

Swords are more romantic and can have more imagination put into them. but in terms of fighting for my life....gun.....
Swords > Guns.
I prefer them in a fantasy game. Nothing ridiculous (Buster Sword, Sephiroth's Masamune or the Gunblade), just something practical and that get's the job done. Nothing TOO fancy, but a little bit of imagination wouldn't be too bad
