seriously, seeing as they're event items that serve a purpose in the storyline, shouldn't they be.....erm i dunno... stronger? they BOTH have a strength of 30. 30!? half the weapons you buy from the shops are stronger! (Rank 6-7)

Na not just that M>II they really cool looking!

I thinl they are not that strong for a reason?

Something to do with there purpose? like there true power can only be used for 1 thing? Destroying the Suncryst at Pharos of Ridorina?

Coz no other sword can break other wise why would you go on those crazy ass adventures if just a useless old Platinum Sword could sever the Cryst?

I dont even like FFXII:lew:

Lol that being the case, they shouldn't even be weapons, they should be in the items section or something, i dont really think there be anyone running around at lvl 40 or 50 using the swords for dmg lol.

Those swords should be like an "ultimate" weapon or something i reckon, instead of the Zodiac/Genji gear.

Yeah the Zodiac weapons were a real let down in the game the Treaty Blade and Sword of kings would have made far better ultimate weapons considering there design and the reasons they are in the game even if there licences cost around 500Lp or more and you had to be a required level to use them let's say by lvl 60 make you work towards being able to wield the weapons this way you could have them as ultimate weapons. All they had to do was get someone to tell you something like "only the strong can truly wield the blades in battle" so you could use them in the quest but not in combat until your character was strong enough. I hated the way you got the Zodiac Spears in that game

I think when I got the swords my players already had stronger weapons so the swords were just dead weight that looked good.

They are weak because you get the both pretty early in the game if I remember, at least one of them anyway. They're also mostly for the looks (imo).

Also, I think you did actually have to hold the item in hand to use it when you needed too, which gave you the feeling you were wielding true power, even though they didn't hit that hard.

I'm guessing it was an attempt to make the gamer feel they were actually doing/winessing the game, as most key items in games you almost NEVER get to see or use yourself.

I was a powerleveler the second time through the game, so my weapons dominated those, still fun to see them in action though.

you not once has to physically wield the sword throughout the entire game, lol.

I just finished my second playthrough (minus Fortress Bahamut, still hunting) and in the cut-scenes Ashe wields both of then hand in hand (2 x 2 handed swords, go figure?)

I thought you had to use one of the swords by equipping it and stepping onto a platform, but it may not be a sword. It was the place right after you first visit Mt. Bur-Omisace that I was thinking of.

(But that cutscene with Ashe is awesome)

GalaxyFlare got it right...or at least that's what I had and most of my friends got from it. They were simply there for the purpose of destroying the crystals and looking pretty neat as well xD

I love FF12.

Now I want to play again :P

Not the sword, a crystal (forget the word! :c) must be equipped. Its the one that takes your magic down to "0" I do believe.
