that builds interest and awareness that square enix will never die,but i hope they dont abandon final fantasy like how bungie is abandonig halo.

No, Square Enix won't abandon Final Fantasy anytime soon as long as it is such a huge source of money to them. Final Fantasy is one of Square Enix biggest franchises (it was Squaresoft's biggest franchise prior to the merging). The Halo and Bungie thing I don't know about - but Final Fantasy will always be in SE's hands as far as we can tell - bar the few games they may give to other developers to make.
It'll depend on what type of game it is, Final Fantasy XIII didn't take that long to make really, it's the fact they moved it from the PS2 to the PS3 which held it back then it was further held back by the release of the 360 version. On the other hand, if they made the game less linear and maybe added more stuff that people wanted like towns, we could still be waiting another few months for it yet 
Im guessing Final Fantasy XV is gonna take 4-5 years to make because they might want to make a 360 version of it too(maybe) If XIII does succeed on xbox 360 im sure That XV will get a 360 version also. Well maybe a 720 version xD. So I say scrap the VII remake and work on XV now if its gonna be released in the next 4-5 years.
XIII already is a success b4 it even came out lol.if they keep making these rpg games,then they should try working out a program for 2 players,but like to make it good and balanced for the game,i always watch you in ff games and you expect to watch me in XIII.I will.
