Shuyin is what the fayth thought of when they dreamt up Tidus. He was a great Blitzball player like Tidus and when the fayth wanted to bring back Zanarkand they thought of him when dreaming of the city.

There's probably some truth to that, but Shuyin has no apparent affeliation with anyone like Jecht, so I'd view him as more of a template. In other words, Dream Zanarkand wasn't exactly the same as Real Zanarkand.

I was thinking of this when reading this thread.. So is lenne the nobody of yuna or a dream and shyuin really tidus' nobody (summat like tha me thinks) Yes I have been playing alot of kingdom hearts recently. 
Isnt there a thread about this kinda thing already?
Whatever......is this about shuyin being tidus or Just people saying Shuyin is cool or Shuyin is "hot 'n' sexy" or can we get into stuff like tidus vs shuyin or who was stronger.
Shuyin is a darker version of Tidus which is cool it shows the guy as being approachable in terms of anger and rage and selfish desire and the drive to be reunited with his love 1000 years apart.

I thought that was obvious. 
It just happened to be a bit uncanny that Lenne and Yuna were so similar. But yeah, I thought that Tidus was based on Shuyin. 'Cept Shuyin is a bit more man that Tidus.

I'll have to agree with the fact that Shuyin was a "template" for Tidus. The fayth most likely used Shuyin as a model when creating Tidus.
I actually didn't see much of a resemblance between Lenne and Yuna myself at first... O.O but I imagine that's what the creators of the game had intended. But I think that their relation is mere coincidence, seeing as how Yuna isn't a dream.
