Just curious to what everyones complaints are. I have heard a few but, here you can pout and what not.

Here are some of the complaints I have of this game. I know no game can be perfect, and I am indeed enjoying this game. But here's what I wish had been in this game also. These are complaints so far with about 20 hours of gameplay.

Towns/Exploring/Traveling: I heard there are some you might be able to explore a little later on in this game, but so far I haven't been able to. Also there is nothing you can explore. It's part of what made past FF's such a success for me and I truly do miss it.

Ships: There are no ships that you can travel on and explore the world. This ties in directly with the fact there are limited towns/no towns basically to explore.

MP: This is minor, but this is the first FF game that I have played that doesn't have Mana points/Magic points. Everyone basically has unlimited MP. Not a big issue though, very minor. Just thought I would mention it.

Limit Breaks: There are no limit breaks. Limit breaks have been used in desperate situations to save you, and just look really cool when they are actually used. Each character should have a limit break, one attack that is super strong. I think that makes sense.

Summons: Now I don't have a problem with the summons. The problem is that since you can only control one character in a battle, you can't use any of the other summons for your other characters. Kinda dumb.

Leveling system: I wish they still had levels, just to see how strong your characters are at least, but they way they have designed the game of always switching characters. don't think that made it possible.

Despite all these complaints, which are all obviously in previous FF games, I am still enjoying the game and would recommend it to all. I just wanted to complain...:pikamon:

Oh my god, I'm only 2 hours in but...can people even level up in this game? I've been fighting a bunch of battles so that I can gain exp, but then I realized...nothing was happening.

Screen spikes. They're frequent, barely noticeable, but still annoying as hell.

Hope. Enough said there.

Capped Crystarium levels...that burns. Power-levelling is absolutely impossible because of it...well, you can farm CP to spend later, but the whole thing feels utterly pointless, because the results aren't noticeable...

I have more, but I'll save it for my review. XD

The only complaint I have is that the battle system is kinda like a recycled version of Final Fantasy X-2's battle system.

other than that?

the lack of tits, and Vanille's fail accent.

She kaunt dacide whetha o nawt she wantsa bay ossie o an amerakan heeck :monster:

Right now I am halfway through Chapter 5 and I have a few complaints so far:

+The Soundtrack - So far I have heard quite a few tunes that I really despise - such as the one played at the Vile Peaks and the new victory tune (what is wrong with the traditional one?). I had to mute the TV to make the Vile Peaks more tolerable.

+Capped Crystarium levels - Like what Martel said, it is a shame that you have no real freedom to power-level and the only improvements you have earlier on are just minimal, such as +5 strength. It would be better if everything is there for you like in FFX without the need to unlock more layers the further you advance.

+The lack of exploration - In a flashback you are able to roam around Bodhum beach, but I'd have liked it more if more of the town is open up to explore.

+Eidolons - So far I have only used Odin in battle as well as his Gestalt form, but I'm rather underwhelmed by it. Maybe I was doing it wrong, but Odin didn't seem to do that much to the enemies.

There's probably more as I go along.

- Music - Some of this music is flat-out horrible. Chapter 4 and Chapter 6 come to mind as being extremely annoying for me, at least for music.

- Eidolons - The battles for the Eidolons aren't bad, they're great actually. It's a good change to just trying to fight to kill enemies. However, once you get the Eidolon, I see very little reason to use it. When not in gestalt mode, they are pretty weak, from what I can tell. In Gestalt they're not even that great, although the finishing attack is pretty awesome.

Everything else is pretty awesome so far. Chapter 9 for now, and the end of Chapter 8 had my jaw on the floor, although I'm assuming there's something going on there.

Oh yes - I'm not too keen on the fact that so far the game just dictates who your party leader is. In chapter 5, I wasn't keen on using Hope to begin with. It just felt odd to see Lightning as the AI controlled party member and Hope being the leader. Also I kind of wanted to use Odin a bit more - to see if he is as underwhelming as I think he is.

But Lightning is now the party leader again, so no actual problems now. I just wish you can have a say in who you want to be leader like in the style of FFXII.

Eh... my friend has the game and we had a LAN party yesterday, I couldn't hear any of the music over him playing hardcore punk and metal.

I'm pretty sure you do get to select who is leader at some point in the game, as it's an option in the Paradigms menu. Just that it's not available now. I predict that it'll become available sometime after all of the characters gain their Eidolons.

The summons point you made I totally agree with. (I actually do agree on most of the other ones, but I kinda hate the summons aspect the most :wacky: ).

Also, I never ever found the need to use summons at all. Killing things with summons took way longer than a battle could take if your were playing your regular starting three. And since battles are scored based on a timer...well...

Just because she is from Australia, doesn't mean it's good. Her voice was horrid, I couldn't stand it at all.

Oh I know, but he didn't say the voice was bad, he said the accent was, and I personally think it's a bit silly saying that an Australian can't do an Australian accent.

Only complaint I have about this game was the fact you were limited to 3 characters for a battle and even then only controlled one... however loved the amount of cut scenes a very metal gear solid approach with that if you ask me... makes me happy knowing i watched them all for a change :D

My only real complaint is the horrible villains. In fact, let's go through them.

Jihl Nabaat: Quite sinister, and hunts down l'Cie with a fierce determination. Why so determined?
You never know because she dies HALFWAY THROUGH THE GODDAMN GAME
.

Yaag Rosch: Think Jihl Nabaat, but not quite as bloodthirsty. He simply wants to protect Cocoon. He has a soul. Wait... is he even a true antagonist?
Oh, and dead.

Cid Raines: Cool character, but, again, basically NO background. Similar to Yaag Rosch in that he wants to protect Cocoon.
Oh, but he's a l'Cie whose whole purpose was to guide Lightning & Co. on their quest to destroy Cocoon. Yeah. Then he tries killing you, but in an effort to protect Cocoon.
...Is he a bad guy?
Dead.

Dysley/
Barthandelus
: Not really "sinister", per say, but he has a motive.
Also a fal'Cie, which are essentially the main villains in the story.
A better antagonist than the others, because you actually get to somewhat know him and he's OBVIOUSLY an antagonist.
Oh, and he's dead.

Orphan:
HIS WHOLE PURPOSE IS TO DIE!!!!
However, one of the more creepy FF villains. That wail still haunts me to this day. *shivers*
Oh, and he does end up dying

Anyone notice a pattern with the villains?
