Coming from the guy that said people are voting for their friends.

I never said people were voting for their friends. What I said was, sometimes, I disagree with the judging and wonder if people are biased or vote based on things other than who made the best artwork. Have you ever watched american idol & disagreed with the judges and thought there might be ulterior reasons for calls they made? Thinking those types of things may be somewhat normal anytime judging or human interpretation of something is involved. -shrug-What you may be missing is, I never specifically accused anyone of cheating or actually said that I thought it was actually happening. All I said is that sometimes I got the feeling it might be happening.
I might compare it to you thinking I might be fapping to pictures I mistakenly thought were your sister(did you ever think I might be offended by that?
) and DBT thinking I might be 12 years old. There were people online who were convinced I was female gendered. Can you imagine that? 
People think and say all forms of things. I couldn't make up this stuff if I tried..Nonetheless, I agree. Mature adults don't make accusations of others.

What is interesting about this is no money and nothing other than pride is involved & how things can get blown out of proportion so easily and personal. Its like a nicer, friendlier and more functional microcosm of US politics, one might think.
How come the sotw numbering has started again from 0? And how do you view the history now?

Apparantly 'cause of the update there is no more SOTW history box. I was about to PM the techies + admins about this, or just suggest it in the bugs & fixes thread. I'd also like the displayer box to be fixed.
The counter started back at 1 'cause the sotw and aotw weren't in sync, and we figured seeing it was a fresh start with the forums, we could do the same with the SOTW. Specially seeing the history box wasn't/isn't there.

Jay and I have been talking about a displayer thread. Although quite the hassle to keep updated, (links, etc) it might be something worthwhile if the SOTW history can't be put back up. 
Just needs dedicated people to keep it up, me thinks. Else it'll be lost somewhere along #30 while we're already at #90 for example.

It sucks aswell because. First il say i know im not around much anymore and i havent been active in GFX for about 2 years now but when i look at sotw nowadays its dead. You get a couple of entries and thats it. Back in the day you were competing against about 6 other people. Sometimes more. Its just a shame all those previous wins cant be seen anymore. They should be showcased proudly as it was one of the biggest factors in the forums large activity over the years. The numbers being reset makes it seem like they never existed, even though most of us know this isnt the case. Still...why not just continue the correct numbering?
I dont care much about making things anymore but i have to say when i was doing it daily i was damn proud of my sotw wins and i was proud of my friends entries when they won.
I guess it just annoys me a little to see how its all been washed away almost. The sotw box looks like crap now aswell. Am i the only one who thinks this? The zoomed in snap is just ugly. The forums new features are cool and the skin etc is decent but the sotw stuff is a massive let down

I definitely see your point with the SOTW history box. I definitely am all for new features on the site and all that cool stuff, but had I known the History box was going to be swiped, or that it couldn't be brought back, I would've suggested something like saving the history to at least display in a thread, if nothing else.

What were we at though? 120 ish or something? Its not gunna get that ridiculous number wise? I mean its still gunna be 3 digits. The forums never gunna last til the 1000s At least newer people can say oh this sites had sotw going for a long time now and dont think its just this new thing.

True. Definitely agree with that people can see it's been going for so long, but it'd be dumb to have the numbers going without any history. I mean sure, we will know that it's been going for longer, but we'll know the same thing now. I just wish I could do something for the history.

All-in-all, I think the whole reset of the SOTW/AOTW should have never happened. Seriously. I am in agreement with Lew. The way we showcase the winners is kinda shit. Nothing wrong with the way it was. As for the lack of entries, people get busy, people lose interest, or people just don't care for the themes. Who knows, it might be a combo of all three. *shrugs*

And yeah, as far as themes go though, people suggest, I'll use the theme and they don't enter. It's like... uh... there's only so much I can do. =[

If the threads are still archived which i dont know if they are i suppose it would be possible to dig out the winning entries. Assuming they would still even be saved? People delete them off tinypic or whatever and they dissapear from threads. The effort it would take though to get them all would be massive. Seriously i wouldnt even wanna think about having to do that.
Also youd need to have the history thread (assuming itd be a thread) somewhere people can easily spot so they can go have a look. Then the numbering could go back to normal. Newer members wont be inclined to look for old sotw wins when they think its only been going on for a few weeks? Get what i mean?

Going off of what Lew said, the threads are archived, yes? Then perhaps someone who is very dedicated and equally bored, perhaps they can go to each individual thread, save the winning entries, and upload them to a single album where it showcases them. Probably not EXACTLY the way the history showed it, but could be a start.

Six Several of us could go through past SOTWs, save them, and upload them to a Final Fantasy Forums Photobucket album. Each member could be responsible for, say, 30 past SOTWs. I don't mind helping out with that.

Storage isn't expensive.
Whats expensive is bandwidth and RAM / cpu cycles.
I have a free host offering 5.5 gb storage space and 200 GB bandwidth / month.
The difficult thing is finding someone to organize and format everything & upload the images, etc.
Blah, blah, blah- I blah.
Jay and I will be taking turns with the S/AOTW, is why the new guidelines aren't up yet. It's Jay's turn so I won't be posting them this week. =] Just a heads up.
