Im probably looking more at an RPG than anything, I want summat to get my teeth into. Also prefer ideas for the PS3 - though, I will take ideas along a similar route for the DS and the PSP.

I saw that Dragon Age Origins for like, 8 quid in Game, what's that like?

Also, games like Oblivion. Hate. Too much freedom and I get bored FAR to easy, I need a nice plot to follow with the potential to go off and do my own thing whilst always being able to go back to the story

edit* My pink PSP just arrived :ryan:

IF its a story you want buy heavy rain, its not an rpg but storywise its the best game out there.

Oh god, get Dragon Age Origins :ohoho: or if you feel adventurous and don't mind paying a few more bob you could get the Ultimate edition, from what I gather it comes with all the DLC for Origins and the Awakening expansion which, from what I hear is pretty much a whole other game added in with it. You can even carry your Origins character into Awakening :gasp:

That aside, there's stuff like Star Ocean: The Last Hope, Atelier Rorona, Trinity Universe, Disgaea 3 (if you don't mind a tactical RPG) Agarest: Generations of War (again, if you don't mind tactical RPGs)

Aaaaand what else... *rummages through collection*

White Knight Chronicles is another good one, Resonance of Fate, which is more shooter style RPG, Eternal Sonata and Enchanted Arms :gasp:

The majority there you should be able to find at a decent price nowadays :hmmm:

tactical as in how?

Is heavy rain one of those puzzly efforts lewis? ive not got the pateince for stuff like that, mostly because I cant do them.

Well personally, Disgaea 3 is the better of the two, it's basically moving across blocks on a battlefield, if you've played War of the Lions it's like that essencially but more team based :hmmm:

no theres no puzzle solving involved.
Its like a movie almost although the choices you make in the game will greatly change how it progresses. You may end up getting certain characters killed which will change everything. The story revolves around a serial killer who your trying to catch. You play as 4 characters. The dad whos son has been kidnapped by the killer. A reporter. An fbi agent and a private detective.

Trust me is ace :ryan:

HAAAAAAATE FFT, WoTL etc, so it's a no go for any game like that :wacky:

What is there for the DS and PSP? There any turn based games I could get for the hand helds?

Im so out of the loop, I used to be well up to date on my gaming :sad3:

I'l have a look while Im out, for some reason I was thinking it was like a Broken Sword kind of game, I could never get past that fucking goat

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SV5sRVnGoJ4 Disgaea 3 trailer, just in case :wacky:

As for handhelds... Golden Sun Dark Dawn recently came out on DS which you could go for, there's also The World Ends With You on DS, Pokémon Heartgold/Soulsilver, if you're into them, there's Dragon Quest games if you can track them down, Chrono Trigger etc

As for PSP, there's Valkyrie Profile Lenneth, Tales of Eternia is good if you don't mind the free moving in battle, Mana Khemia: Student Alliance and obviously FF1 and 2 :gasp:

Kelly get Dragon Age.........its good 80 hours plus very good story excellent skill development and Side quests, Create a character functions elves, dwarves, humans Swords armor shields dragons it has everything you need.

Plus it funny as all assholes love:Lew: the ultimate edition is worth the extra Quid as that other guy says........Klo or something.....you get all the download data and a whole other game.

Must have!

is it more plot orientated or like Oblivion? I really disliked that game... whats the battle system like?

It is more plot oriented than Oblivion, and the battle system is quite nifty by comparison too :hmmm: you get 4 party members with you at once and you can do shit like transform into animals, incapacitate mages, get some pretty good AOE spells, it does play out, skill wise like an MMO :hmmm: but it's less of a grindfest.

And there's also specialisations you can learn from characters who have unique abilities by getting a high enough acceptance level with them and asking them to teach you, which also carries over to any other files you have.

Ya, even if you end up not liking it, it's not too much of a hole in your moneys :hmmm:

The other games mentioned aren't too dear nowadays either if you end up picking up another too

good girl Kelly you wont regret it :ryan:

l played it 6 times........the dwarves are fucking awesome and there story is like a complete game in its own right.

You could always try NieR, that's going pretty cheap these days...it's more of an action-adventure than an RPG, but it has an awesome storyline, the best soundtrack in existence, and it's pretty funny at times ♥

Dragon Age is awesome, though. Just bear with it to start with - it takes a little while to get going.

couldnt find Nier, heavy rain was like, 20 notes, dissidia didnt come with the booklet so i refused to have it lol, came away with dragon age in the end

will see how i get on with that, i saw that valkyre profile, wasnt sure if it had been recommended here so i put it back down again, it any good then?

I'm assuming you saw Valkyrie Profile Lenneth? :hmmm:

It is a pretty good game tbh, if you can get through the rage of weapons breaking at random if you go for normal or above, it's about the only thing I can fault it on tbh :hmmm:

I definetely wouldn't recommend Lenneth...to get the most out of it you have to play it on Hard Mode, and weapons break all the time on hard mode. It's frustrating as hell, especially considering you're running against the clock. I've never been keen on games that rushed me ._.

The story is fairly good, though, and once you get started it's quite enjoyable. It's just very difficult to get into :rage:

Dragon Age is a good choice, though. Just never let Alistair out of your party, he's half the game's entertainment. I'd recommend getting Shale early as well, if you got the DLC to go with it. And do the Circle Tower quest first - you get Wynne out of it (well, provided you don't
opt to kill the mages
) and some much needed stat boosts from the Fade...not to mention it's the most annoying quest of the lot, get it done quick :rage:

The Dwarves quest is by FAR the longest/difficult tbh, so getting that last is a good move too :hmph:

Also Martel lies, Morrigan is the most entertainment :ahmed:

Keep them both. It's awesome having them bitch at one another all the time ♥

Also, after you've done Circle Tower, I recommend doing The Nature of the Beast quest second. It has the Elder Tree in it, the single most awesome video game creation ever. Plus it's easy and will get you up a few levels for the irritation that is Paragon of her Kind :hmph:
