Well from what I played of the game and saw in the movie, I think Tifa and Cloud would eventually get together. I think Aerith was in love with Cloud in away, but not as much as she was with Zack. She Tamed Zack... I say this because I remember in the game that, ether Aerith or his mum say he was a "lady's man" and like to mess around. Aerith thought Zack had run off with another woman as well. I remember another part that might not seem much too. When you go on a date with Aerith, she said she want to get to know the real you and Cloud asks what does she mean he is the real him and she said never mind. I think she sensed Zack in him (from the fusion) and wanted to know the real part... Not the Zack mixed part.
I think given the chance I think Cloud and Aerith would be together and would be a nice couple. But Aerith has been reunited with her first love Zack, and they make a nice couple too.
To me the film was about letting go... Let go of those you have lost and not feeling guilt for your last actions while they were alive...

I can relate to this because, when my nan was in hospital I had a very short visit. When I hugged her then little did I know it would be my last time. I whispered to her "You'll get better I know you will and when get out I'll promise I'll visit you.". I was going to visit her again in a week or so time when it was going to be her birthday, but she had a seizure and had to be sedated because she didn't know who anyone was or where she was. My mum called me and told me, that they didn't know if she was going to make it and I was lucky enough to get my mum to pass on a message to her that I was sorry and I loved her... That was last April and it still hurts me that I couldn't keep the promise of seeing her.

Well, first off, you can't see the ring that well in the picture. Heck, it could be a skull. And second, consider Cloud's theme. His theme consists of wolves. The wolf shown in the movie. His bike is named Fenrir, which is, in Norse mythology, the wolf that will swallow the world at the end of Ragnarok. A wolf ring fits right into the mix. And since Tifa doesn't seem to be the one to wear much of any jewelery, much less rings, she wears this wolf ring. Where would she aquire such an ring? Cloud. Which would explain why she wears it all the time.

and yeah it's not a war, but in some places it sure seems like it, lol.

Ah, yes a much better picture indeed. And yes, now that I can see it more clearly, it is a wolf ring. And I'm not in denial; I'm in Michigan, not Eygpt. All I'm saying is that, nonetheless, Tifa is wearing a ring of Cloud's, or as you state here, from Cloud. But the meaning remains the same. He is obviously close to her. As he is to Aeris. Is there a difference? Maybe, but there is not any solid enough evidence shown in the movie to make such a conclusion.
Now, if he had gotten Tifa red roses twice every week, then that would be a much different story. But he didn't. No solid proof for either Tifa Or Aeris. And as the rings seemed to be spread amongst the characters, I have only to say that it is a continuation of the main characters theme. As red ribbons are worn because of Aeris, wolf rings are worn because of Cloud. Keep in mind this is a decision of the creators, as it is not, realistically, something the characters themselves would do.

Yes, I know she wears earrings. But please, consider her job and her fighting style. She is a bartender. She would be constantly washing dishes and cooking, ect. As a rule, you don't wear just any junk ring while washing dishes. Also, she is a martial artist. Fists and feet, punching and kicking. It's rather painful when you punch someone while wearing a ring. The only reason why she would wear a ring would be for some good reason, or there is an emotional attachment to it.

The whole point of the movie is to let her go, which he does. And he wasn't the only one wearing a red ribbon. If you watch carefully you will see: everyone of the original party was wearing one. It isn't just Cloud. And, once again, evidence that he 'refused' to let her go.

I can't tell you how many CloTi's have tried to rip me a new asshole just because I'm a Clerith. I feel that all of us here should respect one another's opinions on the matter at hand and not try and force our views down one another's throat. (this isn't directed at just one person, it's for anybody who reads this) We all have our own pairing we enjoy shipping, so why ruin it for others, agreed?

As for the flashback in the movie when Sephiroth stabs Cloud in the shoulder, he does infact see Aerith first. That is a fact and I can take an individual screenshot in order for this if you don't believe it, so Aeris is infact correct on this matter.

Aerith was in even greater pain when she thought about Cloud.
She also had good feelings towards him. At first, she thought he somehow had some similarities to her first love. Even so, his looks, voice and personality weren't similar and he also made her think of him as a mysterious person... But it soon didn't matter. She loved him much more than her first love. Cloud was her hero and he couldn’t get away from danger. She saw him as someone full of confidence, cool and had the impression that he would disappear in an instant if she took her eyes off him. She wanted to stay by his side forever if she could. She really wanted to.

When she left her companions and headed for the Forgotten City, Cloud's heart was like an egg that was on the verge of cracking open. It wasn’t going to crack open like the way an egg hatched but, as if only the yolk was going to seep out of it. It was as if his mind was going to shatter. She wanted to comfort him. But anyway, I'll say it again; the reason why Aeris came to mind first was that she just cured him of a fatal wasting disease. Cloud had spent quite some time angsting over this, and was one reason as to why he began to distance himself from others and why he thought Aeris blamed him for her death. So the sudden clearing of this problem clears away a lot of things and would tend to stay in mind for a short time afterwards. When thinking of all the things he loves the most, Aeris would of course be in there, unsurprisingly the first thing thought of, for she had basically solved nearly all of his problems right there in the moment he was cured. So just because he thought of her first doesn't neccessarily mean it was because he loved her so much. Indeed she was a close friend, but it was not because he loved her, or by happening to think of her first, mean that he loved her an not Tifa.

Actually NO it wasnt Aeris who cured him of the geostigma. if you re-watch the movie it is through Kadaj's Actions that Clouds geostigma is cured. He blasts the hole in the floor of the church - from which the healing water arises which cures the stigma.

So it was Kadaj Not Aeris Who cured Clouds geostigma.

Also Aeris comes to Clouds mind 3 times while tifa only comes to clouds mind twice. i think that this shows he cares for her more than tifa. and i think the order of the persons showing are :

Person he loves - Aeris
Old Best Friend - Zack
New Best Friend - Tifa

Also i think that the last scene between Cloud And Aeris was important - it showed that once again Aeris Shows cloud to open his emotions and be happy - which is more than Tifa did.

Also i know its not related to the movie but - There are 6 amano drawings of Cloud and Aeris together While there are None of Cloud and Tifa together. I think that this is significantly important as Every FF couple has been drawn together in Amano art by the creators. And i think that CloudxAeris is shown more throughout the FF7 universe than CloudxTifa.

No, all it it did was her saying that things are fine and he didn't have any reason to angst anymore. And Tifa did a hell of a lot more (just wtf is a dead chick goin' to do?) than you give her credit for. She really made Cloud pull his head out of his ass, if you know what I mean. But Aeris had to convince him that she never blamed him, blah, blah, blah, you know the story. Tifa and Aeris both helped Cloud equally, neither gains more points than the other.

I agree 100% with Rhea. NO COUPLE of this game WILL EVER BE canon, end of discussion. Nomura and Nojima both have stated that they want to leave it open to the fans so they can ship whichever pair they want. They aren't going to put one with the other and that's that.
