A simple question. Which of the two your prefer. Reasons why would be nice, but not necessary.

It's a tough call. RE has BOW, Rivalry, atmosphere, ect ect. But SH on the other hand has ambiance like none other. The grisly creatures spawning from hell, a simple town causing such chaos to ones pych.

I would have to go with Silent Hill for the main fact that overall. It seems to be a more intense experience.

OK well ive played all the re games but ive only played silent hill 1 and a bit of 2. In terms of which is scarier, that would definately be silent hill for me. Resident evil had some jumpy moments but compared to silent hill it was a breeze. Re has a great ongoing storyline which i much prefer to that of silent hills, but not having played all silent hills i cant say for definate.
Il have to say Resident evil, as a whole the game series has been to a high standard and the storyline is well thought out. I like silent hill i just havent played enough of them to fully appreciate it yet. If it was which is scarier, i would go for silent hill for definate.

Silent Hill for me. I gave up on the series after playing Silent Hill 3, but the first 2 games are still way more scary than anything released under the Resident Evil franchise. Resident Evil is okay too though. There's some great games in the series as well as some less inspired ones, but overall it just doesn't compare (in my opinion atleast)

Silent Hill for sure. No other game gives you that same intense experience.
I've completed SH1, 2, and still playing 3 and 4. Looking forward to Homecoming.

Resident Evil is an excellent series.. but i'm not a big of the newer installments. I'm a bit old skool.. lol.. I like the original RE better than any of the others. Only one I bothered completing.

I know grown men - who are in the army in Iraq no less - who ran to their parents room after playing Silent Hill. :P Silent Hill 2 is certainly the best in the series, IMO.

I've only finished the first Silent hill game and that was years ago when it first came out. So I don't really know too much about the series. Therefore Resident Evil wins by default. Resident Evil 2 is one of my all time favourite games, I just find the gameplay so bloody addictive and the storyline (while fairly simple) is interesting too.

However, Silent Hill used to scare the shit out of me to the point where I was almost too scared to play it. So it receives points for that. But as I said before, I've only played the first SH game. I might give the others a try though.

Silent Hill easily. I've always been a fan. The story for one, is far more intelligent than RE. And it actually requires you to think.

RE beats it hands down on combat however, but the general gaming mechanics of RE are basically, find item x. Place in item y. It very rarely actually encourages you to think.

Silent Hill is just a better thought out game with an absolute consistently killer soundtrack.

well erm i havent played Silent Hill but i have seen alot the gameplay and i have to say it is very intense even watching it is intense lol
but Resident evil i think is more my kinda of my thing and i love the intensity in it and i love the back story to it xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
so i think ill go with Resident evil

I haven't played the most recent of Silent hill games, but i played the first one and never really liked it, and when it comes to resident Evil i have loved them all [well the ones i have played] so i would have to say Resident Evil is my fav of the two.

The newer ones let me down a bit sa the puzzles on them have been basically non existant, but the fact of all the games have things that tie them together in like a giant storyline is amazing.

Well, Silent Hill always scared the shit out of me, especially when I was younger >.> I wouldn't let my daddy play with the lights out :P Now I've played it alone, and it's still one of the scariest games I know, but I love it know :)

Resident Evil... eh, it's okay. SH is much better for scariness and has a more straight forward plot. RE's plot is sorta... all over. At the beginning it's good, but now we have about 8 million RE characters to think about and characters who were thought to be dead suddenly living. (Wesker, I'm looking at you.)

I like them both, but SH is much better :)
