Signature Of The Year 2009

Last year you declared that Mitsuki's signature was the best signature out of all our SOTW winners! This year we have more competition and even more entries to choose from. Like normal SOTWs, you can't vote for your own signature.

I voted 112B. There's just something about the red over the black and white and I love the emphasis on the thorns. It's quite lovely.

First off I want to say every last single one of these was awesome and if I could vote for them all I would without hesitation, but alas I cannot.

So I voted for #94, I loved the simplicity of it and I thought the use of effects was brilliant, great job to who ever made it.

Gosh they were such excellent entries!

I had to narrow it down the ones I've copied here and decide out of these ten.

In the end I went with #91.

It's simply gorgeous. Lovely colours and lighting.

It has a nice soft feel about it and the blending is done brilliantly.

The style of it is something that really appeals to me as well.

Great work to all!

Mine is 102. I love Emma Watson and the classic Herminone image works well with the chosen brushes and text. Its nice it see some different colours used instead of girly colours that are usually used with Emma Watson signatures. Lovely.

Hard choice.

In my opinion, 99 and 101 are by far the best ones out of the lot.

101 has great colours and very effective subtle effects. It's very pleasing on the eye and I like how no text was used. It think it would have ruined it. The vertical canvas is the only one on show here and again adds to it's uniqueness.

99 is stunning. I wouldn't even know how to approach making a sig with a building stock. The lighting is beautiful and again, the subtle effect work well, particularly the scan lines. It's so creative which is a major plus considering most of the sigs follow the same pattern of "render slightly to one side, put on some effects and put the text on the opposite side". It breaks the mould.


I had to decide between the two and in the end I chose 101. Dunno why, I think they are equally great but I just had a gut instinct to vote for 101.

Some great entries here though, well done guys!

The second out of these three being the one that inspired me to start GFX myself, is still one of my favourites. The vibrant colours are absolutely gorgeous, not to mention the colours used on this piece. It stands out SO nicely and so bright, it's just the best piece colourwise I've seen in a while.

The first one rather caught my attention 'cause of the colours as well. I like the text and the little circle underneath it.

That said, my vote goes to one I've already voted for once, which is the third. It may not be the 'best' out of all the signatures if someone would look at this with a sharp eye for both text, colour, depth, blending, etc.

But the text, and colour once again in this sig, and the whole image, (even though I'm not hyped about XIII) I love.

I think it's a great signature.
