I'm sure many of us have TV shows we enjoy that are not geared towards us. Maybe they are for a younger audience or an older audience.

What are some of these shows that you enjoy?

Wizards of Waverly Place: This came on when I was watching less and less of the Disney Channel. I was reluctant to watch it at first because the commercials did not appeal to me and the main character seemed like a brat. But recently I heard that this show won an emmy? And many people seemed to enjoy it and I gave it a chance. Now I'm hooked. I like the shows dry humor and some of the plot lines surprised me considering it is a Disney Channel. (Like hell taking over earth) However, Jalex shippers is still too creepy for me!

Phineas and Ferb: When I first saw the previews, I rolled my eyes and expected it to be another crappy Disney cartoon. One day I watched it with my nephews, and cracked up the whole way through.

Avatar The Last Airbender: I had long stopped watching Nickelodeon when this show aired and I originally dismissed it as another typical nicktoon. My sister in laws really seemed to like it and let me borrow their DVDs. It became another show I became hooked on and I'm looking to get the DVD box sets soon.

Here are a few of mine

My Little Pony Friendship is Magic - This show isn't even geared towards my gender and I still love it. I think it's funny, has a good plot, has good voice actors, and good animation.

The Amazing World of Gumball - I think it's funny and the characters are creative. I also like how they are 2D characters in a 3D world.

The Original Pokemon - I've always loved this show and when I got to be around 12 or 13 I hated it but when I decided to play Pearl it got me back into the series and I went back and watched all the old episodes. I can't say I'm a fan of the new episodes though.

From the top of my head:

+ Even Stevens - It was on TV when I was around 9 to 11 years old and I really did get into that show. To an extent nowadays I still watch it now and then for nostalgia and inevitably while it's not having the same impact on me as it did when I was younger, it's an adorable cast - bar Beans of course. That kids continues to scare or irritate the heck out of me depending on the mood.

+ Power Rangers. Well, I loved the old Mighty Morphin to Time Force days and after that it's clearly not the show I was fond of years ago, especially not since Disney strode in and started butchering the franchise with its crappy seasons such as Operation Overdrive ('fess up now, who the fuck wrote that crap?). I do rewatch the old seasons now and again, but at the moment I'm sitting through the latest Samurai series on Youtube to see how Saban is managing, though I'm only seeing just how lazy the writers are. Seriously, I've seen the Sentai series it's based on and the plot is more or less the same, just with caucasian characters and the lack of Japanese feudal terminology. I can also say that the countless other similar Japanese Tokusatsu shows count as well, be it Ultraman or Kamen Rider.

+ Scooby Doo. Aww, I love this show, especially with the whole gang together - and Scrappy-Doo if need be. I didn't like the spinoff ones where it was just Shaggy, Scooby and Scrappy because they were simply wtf-like entirely. I'm typically a fan of the crime-investigation and whodunnit shows and despite Scooby having it on such a simple level that borders on extremely predictable, I can't help but love the show anyway. I love Velma, I really do.

+ Pokémon to a tiny extent. I may watch a random episode now and then for each "generation" and well, nothing much. Same old Team Rocket and a same bunch of kids (one of them is swapped each generation). It's doing a good job of boring me, but I suppose I'm not the target audience and secondly, not a real fan of the franchise now.

+ Digimon. Okay yes, I kind of gave up on Xros Wars until I can get myself motivated to carry on watching, but for now I'm rewatching the 3rd season (Tamers)....in German. I have the whole season in German for some reason and I thought I may as well watch it through in German, have the basic idea of what happens in the series engrained in my mind, then see how much of the German I actually manage to understand. The simple answer to that is...not much. :olivia:

+ Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's in Japanese. I'd rather put up with Youtube's diabolical copyright rules and continuous video uploads downage than watch whatever 4Kids has managed to censor the crap out of now. I quite like this season actually. It's far more enjoyable than the mess that GX seemed to be and despite how ridiculous the anime's concepts are, my suspension of disbelief is maintained long enough for enough enjoyment. The main cast is good, even though I hate how sidelined Aki is nowadays.

Jackie Chan Adventures. :wacky: I can't help it; it's just too funny. I mean, I can still quote some of the lines.

Crazy Guy: Flying Eagle Destroys Minnow!
Toru: Excuse me. What was that last part?
Crazy Guy: I SAID --
*Toru body slams the guy*
Crazy Guy: *on floor, in pain* "What was that last part?" /sarcasm

:wacky: Oh yeah. I thought it would be totally crap, but it was very entertaining.

:hmmm:

I do enjoy watching Dexter's Lab. The old ones not the new ones where Dexter has a different voice. I also liked that new Karate Kid movie with Jackie Chan. I usually stick to nostalgic stuff though. Like the X-Men cartoon, Batman: The Animated Series or the Transformers cartoons. I don't watch much religiously but it is nice to relive some past childhood memories. Have to be careful though. Sometimes shows you used to think were great end up being lame. Like the Ghostbusters cartoon. I tried watching it again on Netflix and that show is horrible. I don't know why I liked it as a kid.

Phineas and Ferb ! When I looked at the animation, I was disgusted by how cheap and lazy it looked. But I started watching the show, and it's so clever. It makes fun of the stereotypes of cartoons and animation, and it's really fun, silly and entertaining. Plus, I love it how they sing songs in each episode. It brings back that early Disney movie feeling, how they would always burst into song. :woo:: It's madly predictable though, but instead of ignoring of how predictable the show is, the programme also makes fun of it's predictably. :britt:

Come Dine With Me - Pretty much geared at old retired people or middle-aged stay at home wives I'm guessing, but I can't get enough of it. Basically four people compete for a thousand pounds by hosting a dinner party each night of the week, then the other contestants secretly rate their dinner party out of ten. The narrator is hilarious and watching the people bitch and try to sabotage each other is great. A surprisingly large number of my friends watch it too actually

I'm a huge fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Which isn't geared towards me at all. I pretty much like all the current pre school shows on Nickelodeon. Team Umizoomi, Wubbzy, Max & Ruby, etc. I fucking love all of it. XD yeah, I'm still really big on pre school shows. I also still watch the old classics from when I was a baby. Especially Blues Clues! :)

There are quite a few. :hmmm:

Batman: The Animated Series
Transformers (The original 80's show, I think all the stuff that came after really sucks.)
Thundercats (Again, the original series)
Scooby-Doo
Danger Mouse

And my favourite claymation program of all time. Trapdoor!

There are probably a good few others, but those are what come to mind right now. :monster:
