Seymour

His voice annoyed me. When he fisrt opened his gob I was like wot. The there were the 50 million fights against him, everywhere I went he was THERE. Ugh, and what was with that hair

I don't think he would have annoyed me half as much if it wasn't for that awful voice

To me he was just a passing moment. Mainly because I over level before the fights and I know a few things.
Now about his voice I hated it along with his lines.

If :monster: had a sex change he would be Seymour.

I was not a fan of Seymour's character. His backstory piqued when you learned his history with his mother. That wasn't very exciting though. I thought his boss battles were interesting and innovative without being too easy or hard. I wouldn't have minded him as a shallow villain but the attempt to give him character wasn't done as well as it should have been.

no no no no no i disagree with you all. Seymours my favourite ff villain ever, it was because he was annoying he was so great. At the wedding when hes trying to marry yuna you just want to jump into the game and hit im. My favourite type of villain is the one who really gets your blood boiling and seymour did that in almost every scene.

I thought Seymour was a very interesting component of the story, especially considering that he is a recurring boss like the Turks from VII, and (therefore) he could easily have been removed from the game completely without it having an effect on the overarching plot. His voice didn't bother me. He was interesting because he introduced the idea of death being a release from suffering, which was one of the arguments Yunalesca used, and an argument that attempts to justify Sin's existence. The marriage story also allowed Yuna to wrestle with the concept of duty versus individual happiness, and the fact that she chooses duty every time is typical not just of her, but of the prevailing mindsets in Spira in general. So, despite the outlandish hairdo, I think Seymour was an important element of the game.

I thought that Seymour was kind of a stupid person. He was obsessed with death because his mom bought the farm, that sounds a hell of a lot more like he was in love with his mom. I felt that his part in the story was to give the player someone to piss the player off to no end with his bad voice acting, weird ultra hard looking hair, and weird looking chest and his low cut shirts.

I felt that the fights against him were incrediably one-sided unles you moved like another 50 spots along the Sphere Grid before every fight. It was like everytime i went against him, i would use the most powerful spells i had, backed with a massive MAG ATK, and it still only dented him, if even that, it was aggrivating to no end.

Also, i think that secretly, he was molested by a priest or something, which would explain his killing of Yevon priests and a desire to be inside of Yu Yevon.

that sounds a hell of a lot more like he was in love with his mom.

Considering that his mother was the only person to ever show him love, it wouldn't surprise me if Seymour suffered from an Oedipus complex, really.

I liked Seymour as a villain. He was unique, and I think he wanted to save Spira - more like an anti-hero lately.

I don't get why people complain that his battles where hard, sometimes you can't please people. If he was easier people would complain he was "too easy." I saw Seymour as a way to mark your progress, if you couldn't defeat Seymour, you needed to level up more - if you could, you're doing fine.

And, I agree with the comments that his voice was awful. He probably only wanted to marry Yuna for her shoes with that voice :wacky:

I do like his hair though. I could play with it for hours. xD

God, how gross is that. The weird part is that he actually was banished by his father, very similarity to Oedipus, only to come back and kill him years later. I have no idea what him and his mother might have done together while locked away in Baaj temple... but that's just creepy.

Cloud had Sephiroth, Squall had Seifer, Cecil had Kain (or Golbez, depending how you look at it). Tidus needed someone, so Seymour was the closest he had to a "rivalish" character.

I totally agree with you.

I though his voice was great. I was so villainous. Some of the lines he said were sick (in a good way :P) Over all I though he was a good villain... perhaps even better than Sephiroth.

lets not say anything too over the top now. Sephiroth had an actual story and a thirst for power, Seymour just had a hard on for dead things and summoner broads. i know its your opinion, but lets not compare the evil genius of destroying all of humanity to become a god, to a dude trying to destroy all of humanity to become a giant fish-monster.

i didn't like anything about seymour
he just didn't sit well with me
plus i had a hell of a time beating him most the time

Yeah but i felt no hatred towards the guy at all, unlike seymour who i just wanted to see get the shit kicked outta. Another good example of bad guys like this would be zorn and thorn you just wanted to kill them.
For me thats why seymour is my favourite bad guy, i dont care about his back story i just wanna waste the guy.

Seymour didn't want to destroy humanity in order to become Sin. He wanted to become Sin in order to destroy humanity, and he wanted to do that, ostensibly, because he believed that it would end all of the world's pain. I don't think Sephiroth ever explained his motives as clearly as Seymour: "I will become Sin... I will destroy Spira, I will save it" compared with Sephiroth's vague desire of vengeance for what humanity did to the Ancients.

Seymour is annoying especially his VOICE!!! also his fights.

I liked Seymour, everything about him besides his hair was pretty good. I liked his back story, personality and intentions, and I found his boss fights very enjoyable.

His voice acting was pretty strange but now that I think about it, I think it fits his character well. His design was very interesting as well, the only thing that really bugged me about him was his hair. But all in all he was a great villain.

If you wanna talk Oedipus, look no further than Tidus :monster:

Seymour was a tool and was not a very good b-plot with sin he sucked donkey ass
and too much of a girly man to be a decent bad guy....anima was pretty cool though huh?

Seymour was very annoying. I did want to punch him in the face(except he isn't real) but he was a functional character and fairly important to the storyline. I didn't like the character but I wouldn't change him. He's good for the role that he plays.
