Rinoa

I find her to be a quite alrighty character, i like the fact that she had something going on with the silent and lonely guy, squall

In fact, the reason why a lot of ff fan boys like her is becasue they fancy her a little, believe me, i can understand them...:monster:

She reminds me of a girl I know who keeps pushing herself onto one of my closest friends and that friend suddenly likes her after hating that girl. I don't like naming names, but that certain girl has a lot of likeness to Rinoa and that's why I hate Rinoa.

I like her limits and so on though..

People hate Rinoa??

I have never used her in battle, (well not outside of the places where I have to use her :P) and outside of battle she can be a little too random and time wasting, but I don't hate her, she's not my cup of tea but hate is a strong word
 
I liked her very much. She was so charismatic and funny. In some serious situations she just kept that positive aura around.
 
I liked her attitude and the way she acted. She was always positive and kept everyone in a good mood. I didn't use her in battle because she was kind of weak and didn't have very good limit breaks but without her you wouldn't have a final fantasy VIII
 
Why would anyone hate Rinoa?

She was the one that got Squall to open up about himself and his feelings about everything. She also went through a lot of other stuff too like inheriting Edea's sorceress powers, getting possessed by Ultimecia ... I assume that you're getting the picture?
 
I don't really like the girls from FFVIII, but Rinoas My fav..

Just like the way she interacts with squall, even from the early stages of the game, like the dance scene... etc. Makes her a better character then the others.
I do like Quistis early on before most of the other characters join though.
 
Rinoa is defo my favourite! Her soft, honest character has touched Squall's heart.
I Also I think she was way better than Yuna and Aerith. She is the best FF creation!!!!
 
Um... look again if you think she was always in a good mood or upbeat. She could also be spoiled, immature, and naive. However, that doesn't mean she's a bad character - rather that she has a lot more potential for character development. So it makes sense for her to have a shoddy, but somewhat winning (for some people) personality in the beginning.
 
That's what I like about Rinoa. She's realistic in a sense that she's your typical average teenage girl who goes through different kinds of mood swings. She can be sweet, naive, annoying, strong, weak, etc. So yes, definitely had potential for character growth. I still liked her though, right off the bat and throughout the whole game, despite my annoyance that she was always this damsel in distress.
 
I really liked Rinoa. I thought some bits were abit daft like being called ''princess'' but other than that, I thought she was great.

I personally loved rescuing her all the time - it was sweet. Some people just get into scrapes all the time, like me lol, however its my best mate that rescues me not some hunk.....
Anyways, I think she was just meant to be the complete opposite to Squall & I think that worked fabulously....so she had temper tantrums....who didn't over react at 16 & clash with thier parents? Or was that just me....?:monster:
 
I like Rinoa i don't see why people don't like her she is a strong character....I like her

i think Rinoa and squall make a wonderful couple

I didn't like her. I didn't hate her. Like someone said she was an attention whore ( I fucking hate attention whores). She actually reminds me of my mother when she was younger since she looks japanese and her personality. Well me and my mother never got along which is funny because I have a similar personality and traits to Squall.
 
She was a little spunky and had a killer look.
What I dig about her is that she has substance, she's not some ditzy dumb girl chasing after a pretty boy.

Really? Because the entire game seems to contradict what you said. I can sum up Rinoa in two words:

Rinoa is not a ditsy, dumb girl chasing after a pretty boy? Uhh what you described there was the total opposite of Rinoa.

She always chased Squall, and harassed him. Squall wasn't the one who went up to her at the dance forced to her dance. On Disk 2 when she was at Balamb Garden she was demanding Squall to show her around Balamb. Squall didn't want to, but Rinoa forced him. Not to mention also on Disk 2 Rinoa pushed Squall in Fisherman's Horizon. Rinoa was like: "Ehhh! GIMMIE ATTENTION SQUALL!" Rinoa also sat on Squall and molested him inside the Ragnarok. Also all of those times on Disk 1 when Rinoa kept flirting with Squall.

I'm not defending Squall, I don't really care about him as a character. One thing is for sure, Rinoa was a very childish character who kept bugging Squall.
 
every time I look at this thread I still can think nothing but "O_O people hate her?!?" the poster above makes a fair point about her bugging Squall but thats probably because Squall is so inept and handling social situations that he needs to be "coaxed" into things.
 
I didn't mind Rinoa at all. I don't know why she wasted her time trying to get Squall's attention, but I give her kudos for trying and at least being there for him when he did need someone to sort of guide him emotionally.

I used her as one of my main 3 characters too along with Squall and Zell; she was a fairly good fighter.
