Right, finished this game a number of times and I keep thinking the same thing, if you haven't finished it, don't read any further.


At the end of the game, when the island blows up and Leon escapes with Ashely, what happens to the merchant guy? Like, he obviously had the weapons to survive and handle himself against the Los Illuminados and stuff, but Leon must be a bit of twat, just leaving the guy who basically gave him the firepower to get through his mission. Poor fella. The island blows up, you don't see the merchant escape.....so does that mean the dude got blown up too?


Anyone else thought of this?

(Yes I know I'm reading into it a little much. But the merchant is cool "WEEELLLCOME stranger!" lol)
 
Lol,i needed that merchant.Made me feel like i am not the only one in deep shit :)Hmm,most-likely he did get away just after the moment when he last sodl you guns.Lols actually game maders think that gamers dont wonder about things like that,they just enjoy a gun seller,and most do not think,but i and seems like you are the ones who wonder about things like that.Think what you want,i think that he got away with private boat ;)
 
Either he escaped before the DMC rip-off ending, or he ressurected himself AGAIN. God knows how many times I've shot, knifed, mined, rocket launched the bugger. He just kept coming back! :gasp:

And here I was thinking I was the only one who malciously killed him for being annoying. LOL:wacky:

I just assumed the merchant teleported his way outta danger. He must be able to teleport. Can't think of another way he'd be able to get ahead of Leon so quickly time and time again. Good way of getting away from all the mutants along the way, too. He's packing some heat, but that dude'd get eaten alive if he didn't have a good way of escaping.
 
Ahh christ, my sides hurt! That video was excellent :highfive:Oh, and i agree with the teleport thing. IIRC, on a Resi Evil forum someone had his backstory and he was infected with the plagas but was like Typhoid Mary so could keep them under control.
 
Thats lame. I think I'd like him just being a local that managed to either avoid getting the Plagas or have it removed before it developed.
 
He probably escaped the island in the same way he got there.but then again everyone could just be reading into this far too much. he was kind of immortal as if you shot him he would skip a showing then appear the next time.

my theory was that he was a robot, thats why he only had those few sayings, it was all he was programmed to say, and that would also explain the fact of when you shot him he would come back to life.
 
Aww man, I hope he escaped in some way. He was way too epic to just be left to die. My Mom has purposely killed that poor guy so many times. :( He at least deserved to survive the end of the game. Anyway, he's one of the most memorable video game characters ever to me. I don't know why.... But I really liked him.
