I think there's just a teeny tiny mix up regarding what's displayed on our post bit with Rep. Rep Power is the factor of which you Rep people, which is determined by your post count, time at the forum, and reputation received.

RepUTATION is the factor of all the Rep you receive from other people.

Correct, no?

So why does the Reputation factor show up as our Rep Power? Because I'm actually sort of intrigued as to what my Rep Power is at this point.

Maybe this is a bug, maybe it's bad coding, I dunno, I'm just curious.

Perhaps it could be fixed with a vb update? :awesome:

You can see your reputation in User Cp.
Rep Power is different.

Well it's pretty much just determined by the rep you receive from others. You only get like 1 point added to your rep power for every year you stay here and 1 point for every 1000 posts or something.

I think your rep power is the amount of rep points you can add to someone's reputation and your reputation is the total amount of rep points you have received.

The number that appears under your your avatar next to "Rep Power" actually is your rep power.

Your reputation is viewable in your UCP. To the right of "Latest Reputation Received" there should be a number, this is your reputation.

Well that's... kinda gay... most forums I was at that had Rep would make it at least somewhat attainable like, a point for every 250 posts or every 3 months...

I think your rep power is the amount of rep points you can add to someone's reputation and your reputation is the total amount of rep points you have received.

That makes sense now that I actually know where my Rep Points are, and how much I have ( 25972, I thank you.)

The number that appears under your your avatar next to "Rep Power" actually is your rep power.

So then how does that go up? That's basically determined by the Rep received from others? Perhaps it needs higher increments between each rep bar, otherwise it's far too easy for everyone to reach full.

Your reputation is viewable in your UCP. To the right of "Latest Reputation Received" there should be a number, this is your reputation.

Thanks!

How come we can't see other people's reputation remarks in other profiles? It may be a hack available for higher vB updates or maybe you guys just haven't enabled it yet, but it's a neat feature to have and to know what makes other people so lulzy.

My rep power is worth either +95 or -95. Example, if someones makes me mad I can take away 95 rep, if they make me happy I give 95 <3

That's rep power

The 93 is the effect it will have on your rep power.
She's wrong though, neg rep is only worth half, because if you neg rep someone you're probably a cunt.
Only you can see your reputation, other people can see your rep power.

....Isn't your rep power 2663?

Now I'm confused! Where did this 95 come from? @_@

Rep power is how many Reputation points you add/subtract to a user's total. So if Ms. Bubblegum gum reps you, it adds 2663 points to your total.

Your Rep Power is determined by a formula having to do with mainly your total points, but some other stuff too.

So in repping you, the process goes: My Rep Power -> your total Reputation Points -> Your Rep Power.

Oh!... Okay, that clears things up a bit though.

But there is a hack out there that allows you to view other people's reputation... Why don't you have it?

Im guessing cause the site does not want to hack into somemone's info Channy. and why do you wanna see rep so bad?

You can see their rep power which more or less amounts to the same thing.

No demand for it. You're the first person that I can recall that ever mentioned wanting to see other people's rep notes.

@Channy - You probably want to know the different reasons why people rep/got repped xD , I think that COULD upset people cuz we get repped sometimes for the funniest/dumbest reasons.

Well that's exactly it! I don't quite understand how it could upset some people rather than generate more lulz.

I guess I'm the only one who's ever requested it because y'all didn't know there was a hack to read people's rep comments. I've found that it usually brings more lulz and good times.

I'm not sure I like that idea, it's almost like going through someone elses PM's the rep was made with only the receiver being intended to see it

there could be nasty/personal stuff

I know it's only a bit of rep, and most of it is fine to be read, but it's still personal and I don't think Id be comfortable with other people suddenly being able the rep I have

Unless there was an option to 'unhide' it I guess

There was a thread for posting the comments in which was entirely optional and people could post the reps that they wanted and not others.

lol, guys. My 2663 isn't how much rep I can give. It's how much rep I have. For example, the amount of rep I either take away or give is 107. Go rep someone. Get their rep number before you rep them, then +rep them and reload the page. It should increase by a certain small amount.

An example is Yuna Ito. Her "rep power" is 2882 I'm going to now rep her and she should get 107 more making it... 2989

the green tells me how much I increased it to. The numbers on the right are what she use to have.

I fail to see how this is difficult to understand.
No, your rep is in your user CP. Your rep power is how many rep points you give to each person. That 107 is the effect it has on the other person's rep power. Not their rep.

not adding on the rep POWER but it will add on the rep POINTS, so if you'd rep me for example my rep POINTS would increase by 2663.....im not sure if its right but your welcome to try :)

I have 15000 rep POINTS atm. - 16264 point(s) total

Thanks for the Reputation Cali Babe. Also you made it public xD. Also I don't really care to read other comments tbh. Its Like Kelly said :hmmm:
