red XIII was always my favorite character in ff7 I always had him in my party no matter what. He is a strong character and just sick looking.. but when I saw the way he looked in the movie and the way his voice sounded I was like wow... He didn't have any great parts either:mad2:.

For the few moments we actually saw him in the movie, I thought he looked pretty good. I even liked his voice (which is a shame since he had one fucking line)

Red wasn't my favorite character, but I did really like him, and used him often. He got jipped in DoC even more, didn't even have a single line.

Mostly due to technical reasons I heard, and time restraint =o

When it comes to FFVII: AC and FFVII: DoC Cait Sith's scottish accent wins all. I mean who would have expected it? Be honest now....

Yeah, I was hoping for more Red XIII too. I didn't mind his voice that much, it was alright; not the best, but not terrible. I wish Vincent had more screen time as well.

Just because we never expected it doesn't make it any better, it was still shit.

They should have really named the movie "The Cloud Strife Show" or showed it as a PPV event with Cloud v Sephy as the main event since that's basically all it was.

I thought his voice was a bit weird at first too, but now it seems to fit
He wasn't featured too much because it would've been difficult to code his fur into so many scenes. That's all o.o

I agree Red did look awesome. And I really wish there was more of him. I would like to see his own movie. Cat sith was a shocker but I still dont like Cat-sith no matter what his voice is.

i wasnt just dissapointed with the lack of Red XIII i was dissapointed with the lack of all the other members of AVALANCHE - Except Cloud Tifa Aerith and Vincent - they had more screen time than anyone else.

Yeah I just remembered the part where they were fighting the weapon.. yuffie watches as Red gets blasted into the sky by weapons beam lol.. I wanted to see him own :(

Edit- I thought they made a huge clown out of red XIII

Technically, he has two, but his line in the Shera is normally overlooked (right after Cait Sith tells Yuffie to calm down).
Is that him speaking? I was always told it was Cid, cause it sure doesn't sound like him to me in the Shera.

At first, that's what I thought, but replay that part and once you know that it is Nanaki, you can tell
I'm hoping that Nanaki will get his own part of the compilation dedicated to him. It seems to me that he's been dogged (no pun intended) by lazy programmers. So what if the fur will 'take a long time to code'? No one's rushing you. I think a story of him would be interesting

I wish Red XIII had a bigger part too. He was one of my favorite characters in the game. They could have had him there with Vincent in the Forgetten city. Red XIII talking to Cloud about sin and Aerith would have been in character, probably more so than Vincent. And it would have been cool to see Red save Cloud and help fight off Loz, Yazoo, and Kadaaj.

It would also have been dark so they could have let some of the animation slide if they were so worried about it.

I agree that Red XIII (or Nanaki) should have had more parts. They could have at least shown him do a few more cool fighting moves.

-Red was actually one of the characters that I used most frequently.

I am in the same boat as you Mr. Thread Starter. Red XIII is my favorite character in Final Fantasy VII as well and I was continually waiting for him to make at least mroe than 1 comment in the game. All you hear is a quick one-liner at the end when everyone else is hott'n and hollur'n junk as well...

I found the visualization of him to be great... just not his performance. He can't even fight for crying out loud. Just nibbles at Bahamut Sin's face a bit before being flung off. And his non-existent (barely) dialog was most frustrating.

I'm still bewildered as to why they didn't have him saying much.

Probably because had they just put in a voice, people would've got confused, thinking it was a weird narrative or something. So to avoid this, they would've had to show Nanaki in more scenes and we already have the reason why there weren't too many of those

Yeah, I wish that Red XIII had more of a part, too. In FFVII, I thought he was a really good character even though he was some kind of tiger (or whatever)

Since you see him on top of Midgar 500 years after the events of FFVII, there's a chance that he'll have a title dealing in that era.

Anyone could have made this post about almost any character in the movie.. Why? Because Square COMPLETELY based the success of this movie off of the Cloud and Sephiroth fanboys.
