Watching Dave has revived my love of this show

There are so many lulzworthy bits it's ridiculous. I love Kryton and his stupid girly cry :wacky: 'Ah Smug mode' is one of my favourite lines ever. And the cat saying fiiiish, theres a video already of that somewhere round here and it's epic

I think Kochanski or however the hell you spell it kinda ruined it a little altho I guess they needed to replace Chris Barrie & he was a hard act to follow.

I've never heard of this show, but that clip is greatness! I was so confused, yet so entertained...

Red Dwarf is pure win! I however keep forgetting what day its on 'cos I'm such a bloody smeg head :(
 
The first six series are excellent, the last two though saw the whole thing lose its way a bit. Losing Rimmer in Series 7 was a big blow (and even in Series 8 when he reappeared the whole 'resurrect everyone on the ship' thing seemed to disrupt what made the show great to start with).

I feel a bit sorry for Chloe Annett who played Kochanski, her character just didn't fit into the show (and who could decently replace Rimmer?) and she copped a lot of the blame for it. You wonder how they thought her character would ever work.


But there's a lot of gold in those first six series with Rimmer, Lister, Cat, Kryten and Holly. The 'backwards' episode, the Polymorph, Back to Reality, Quarantine (and Mr Flibble!)...not often you get decent British sci-fi-related shows (Doctor Who aside).

I only remember the odd clip past series 3, since I didn't watch it as much in my youth. If I could find the rest of the damn DVDs in shops I'd know more.

The one part in all of RD were Rimmer was actually not a complete smeg head.

My boyfriend has met al the cast, Ive just met Rimmer and Lister. My ex's dad was a cameraman on the first series and I stroked Rimmers H ^_^

Mr Flibble is such a coolio episode. But Cat has to be my fav character, hes shexy!

So, the new 3 part Red Dwarf starts tonight! Anyone excited, or do you think it'l be a big fat let down? Aparently they find some thingy in the water tank, and from what Ive seen on the ads, the star bug is a fuckign smart car xDD

I'l be tuning in anyway.....I hope Rimmer comes back and Kochansky has just.....mysteriously dissapeared

I never read into whats going on coz I dont wanna ruin it for myself so use spoilers if you know something I dont fools!
 
It'll be explained in the first episode what's happened with Kochanski and Holly. Rimmer is back as a hologram and the new episodes are based 9 years after the last series. From what I've read the first episode is an old-school monster-of-the-week like from before and the other two will be more about getting back to Earth.
