Hello Team

Is there a way to disable quote notifications? I don't enjoy looking at my top right of screen and seeing there is a notification, getting all excited thinking I am popular and might have a VM only to find out that it is just someone saying "lol" while quoting me :(

Can we turn it off? Or will I have to man up and accept this as a regular part of my life now?

Thank you in advanced for the help you will provide me <3

Man up. Grow some hair on your chest, etc. :dave:

That is a good question though. I don't really see any purpose in these quote notifications. It could be a default setting with the newer version of VB that got turned on after the server move. :hmmm:

Yeah, these quote things are even more shithouse than someone of the other things you've come up with. Why is there a notification of a PM? You get a big envelope thing popping up anyway.

no :rage:

It's good. It allows people to know when someone quotes you, meaning you didn't just waste your time in posting. It's a very very handy thing to have. :ryan: i love it.

:hmmm: well maybe there is a way for people to turn it on or off if they like. So people who like it can keep it and people who don't like it can get rid of it?

I second every part of that.

It has a definite use in serious conversations, and allows you to see when people are actually responding to you. I quite like it, and hope that it won't be removed totally.

If they quote you, they are definitely responding to you. Unless you are unusually distracted and somehow fail to notice the whole quote and your name next to it, it serves absolutely no purpose, other than another annoying notification.
Most people read the threads they post in anyway.
And you have to click on the notification even if you have read the post in which you were quoted.
