Was just woundering if the online gameplay is as good as the 360s in terms of stabability? And is the built in wifi any good? cause im going to be playing my ps3 upstairs on the completely opposite side of the house from my router so im woundering if ill be getting a decent connection. If its anything like my computers built in wireless then i should be fine i think.

I haven't played the 360 online much, so I can't compare... But the service is quite good. I can't see many problems with it.

Yes the PS3 has a wireless adapter built in to it, so you just need to hone it into the wireless network and connect up. Alternatively you can attach it through cable if you wish, but you'd probably need to buy that.

I like the PSN online. It's free, it's easy... And if your system crashes you can retrieve your profile and all downloads.

EDIT - ah you changed the questions before I refreshed the page before posting. :ness:

As for the wifi connection... It can be pretty strong... I have my router upstairs by my computer, and have a PS3 which is downstairs and in a conservatory connect up to it quite easily.

Tbqh, my brother owns a 360 and I've never seen why people view LIVE as being better than PSN, all it means that it has more immature gamers and you have to pay anyway >.>

Like Dan said, it's free which is why it's worth it, far better than paying £50 a year >.> Wifi is pretty much spot on too, my ranges from 80-100% and I rarely ever have any lag issues. Though it would depend on your internet provider as well.

That and the connection strength depends on how far your PS3 is from the router. The closer it is wirelessly the better the connection strength, the farther you are..well you get the idea. Well thats my experience with it anyway, you shouldn't have any problems if you have the connection wired.

The PSN has a few probs, such as randomly logging you out and some other notable errors but its not too bad. I rather have free online play than paying for it on top of paying for the internet service provider as well.

my router is down stairs and im up stairs and my connection is fine. I never lag. The only complaints ie heard about ps is that its a little less userf riendly. Things like accepting game invites are apparently a little more hard to figure out that the x box. Personally i found it no bother but thats a comment i got from a lad at work whos x box daft. A

I use a wireless connection to play online with my Playstation 3, i have the playstation 3 inside my room and my router is in the next room and sometimes i get some lag during the game, but it's nothing major.

Don't have a 360 so can't say if it's any better as far as online goes but I love the Ps3 online :D if I recall my brother Ty said that you have to pay for internet connevtion on the 60 but he could be wrong =P I hardly ever get lag either and my router (i also use a wireless) is downstairs hiding inside of my computer desk thingy XD.

the ps3 does have a better connection, i have both my 360 and ps3 side by side,i experience a lot of lag on MW2 on the 360,but little to none when playing Killzone 2 on the ps3, so ps3 does have a stronger built-in wifi adapter than the one you have to buy for the 360
