Chose charmander cos I'm badass like that, not to mention a small fire lizard taking on and beating a giant rock snake makes more sense then the same giant rock snake been taken down by some leaves and bubbles.

Charmander is the Hardest pokemon to Start red with as the first two gym's he is weak against (Ground/Rock and Water) so i admire you courage, catching a Caterpie or a weedle will help you out considerably, considering Beedrill and Butterfree are amazing additions to you team, no matter who your starter Pokemon is.

I tended to Start with Squirtle, but that because i have a personal preference to Water Pokemon, i always started with the water choice, be it Squirtle, Totodile, or Piplup. i just preffer the way their final Evolutions look, Blastoise has two massive cannons on it's back, feriligator is a hard ass looking crocodile, and empoleon is a hard ass Penguin.

Blastoise looked pretty epic alright, and that's exactly what I did took down geodude and a decent chunk of Onix's health with Butterfree's confusion, then charmander just had enough in him to finish Onix off.

cool, you will breeze through The cerulean Gym, and Lt Serge is easy as pie, all you gotta do is catch a digglet (sp) and use that through out the fight as all his attacks are thunder moves, so they don't effect him.

Charmander is always picked, but he is the hardest to train considering the first few Gyms.

Personally, I think you should have gone with Bulbasaur. That Pokemon is da bomb! Strong in all aspects. :P If you start with Bulby and get him at 12, get a Pikachu level it to 11-12 and then a Mankey at level 10-12, you are set to destroy the first few Gyms like a champ.

For Charmy, it would make it easy if you had Pikachu, Pidgey, Mankey and a grass type. :) Pika to use sand attack as well as Pidgey and Mankey and the others to attack with Fire and Grass types. :)

Just my thoughts anyways lol

Dragonnite : An extremely rarely seen marine Pokémon. Its intelligence is said to match that of humans. Dragonite is capable of circling the globe in just sixteen hours. It is a kindhearted POKéMON that leads lost and foundering ships in a storm to the safety of land.

attacks : Wrap Leer Thunder Wave Agility Slam Dragon Rage Hyper Beam

Charmander is the hardest for those first few gyms then hes the best! I always start with a fire pokemon, fire just seems to rape everything but rock and water. The only grass ive ever started with was bulbasaur and Chickorita. ive never used a water, always hated them

I've started playing Pokemon again too, starting from scratch and possibly going through them all if I can be arsed. Started Firered and choose Charmander but when I play Leafgreen I'll choose Bulbasaur. Those two are by far the best options as even though the first parts of the game can be abit harder with Charmander you'll eventually end up with a Charizard. I tend to then replace whatever flying Pokemon I have been using for something more useful as flying isn't a type I rely on much but when needed can be covered with Charizard. And as for Bulbasaur he just annihilates the first part of the game, is pretty useful throughout and much better than most Kanto grass types. And why the fuck have Squirtil when I can have Vaporeon or Lapras later? pffft.

Oh well I meant it more as spam but I'm actually getting really back into pokemon so it's all good

Just entered the moon cave and after catching one Zubat I remember how bloody much I hate them constantly appearing. Hoping to level up my Butterfree some more so misty wont be too bad of a fight, then grind my Rattata and Pidgey a bit.

that and there cry is just so annoying, that high pitch scream. having to hear it over and over makes me dread going in caves....and that bastard geodude.
