I'm a huge fan of the Persona series. It's easily my favorite RPG out there behind the FFs. And it used to be not popular, like, at all. But recently, it's popularity and fan base has been growing rapidly, and it's gotten me excited.

So- anyone here an avid Persona fan? If so, what's your favorite Persona title, character, etc. and why?

And if you're a fan of any of the Shin Megami Tensei games or other various spin-offs, that's cool too.

As of right now, my favorite has to be Persona 3 with its awesome blend of characters, story, gameplay, and day-life/night-life elements. I just love that crazy balance of going to school and then demon fighting.
Plus, I love the characters for the most part. Mitsuru's probably my favorite after beating the game.

I've started playing Persona 4, but only a little bit. I'm trying to wait until I go back home to Cali to really get into it. So far, though, I'm beginning to love it just as much as 3, if not more. So we'll see how it goes. ^_^
 
I really like what I've played of Persona 3 so far, I like the way it encourages various social interactions to pass the time and improve your stats. And it looks stunning, some great artwork.

I can't wait for Persona 4 to come out in the UK, heard great things about it.
 
Omg I really love the Persona series I am still awaiting to buy Persona 4 I want it so badly!!! I just have to buy number 4!! Yeah the others were pretty good though. I need to get my hands on 4.
 
I couldn't find it anywhere near here to buy it so I thought of downloading it and it was problematic.I believe I'm gonna like it but first I'm gonna play it.I really like the characters' designs.
 
I Have only played Persona 3 and 4. I loved them both so much, the characters are people you can really relate too. The random encounters actually require strategy instead of "Attack! Attack! Attack!" I am currently saving up to get Persona 1 off of eBay and then Persona 2.

It's an amazing series and really unique.
My favorite game so far is Persona 4. It has a cheerier feeling over Persona 3. Which is understandable since its main theme is Yellow when Persona 3's is Blue.

I really like how everything that happens is symbolic of something and the setting of Modern day that still involves ancient mythology.
It's a great series and everyone needs to check it out.

My Fav Character is Junpei from Persona 3. I think his Development was the greatest out of any character from P3 or P4.
 
Me I love the Persona games, I just finished the FES version of 3 recently.

Can't wait for 4 to be released in Europe so I can finally play that.
 
I adore Persona lol. I became hooked with Persona 2 and played the Devil Summoner games. But Persona 3 and 4 are just amazing for me. They rank high in my top 10 RPGs ever, I cant fault them. They are incredible and just so nice to play something so refreshing like them.
 
I played the original Persona when I was younger, and it went right over my head. I liked Persona 2, and I've looked for both at gaming stores without much luck. Might have to scour eBay for a copy.

Honestly, didn't even know there was a Persona 3 or 4. I might have to look into those as well.
 
Persona is a great JRPG series that has been made by Shin Megami Tensei and produced by Atlus. It's relatively unknown, but it's really a diamond in the rough, and 3 and 4 on the PS2 are among the best games I have ever played. You can socialise with friends for rewards, as well as the typical RPG fighting aspect, and the game has a very deep storyline with themes about the mind and it's influence on the world around you prominent throughout.

Has anyone played this fantastic series, and did you enjoy it?

Look into them hun if you can. Its difficult to get them now in shops, so onlines your best bet. Also Persona 3 Portable is out in the States now, waiting for my copy to arrive :mad: But yeah, 3 and 4 are amazing.
 
I'm a newbie, I started with the PS2 games *hides* I enjoyed them both a lot, I think I may like Persona 4 slightly better but I am quickly getting swayed by Persona 3 Portable. This is my second time buying the game. Even though there are no more anime cutscenes and it is all visual novel based, I think the extras are well worth it. Playing as the female MC really adds even more replay value to that one game especially since personality wise she is different from the male MC. This game is so worth a second purchase.

I'm loving the FMC's version so much. The new music is so stellar, and the guys S.Links are so cute. Theodore especially. I just wanna eat him up xD

In general, they managed to convey this PS2 game very well on the PSP. There are obvious differences, but nothing that particularly irked me.

Anyone else?
 
The female MC overall has a better exclusive music selection in my opinion. I really enjoy "Wiping All Out" the most so far but "Time" is also really good as well. Seriously, for those who have played P3, it is well worth it to buy P3P. Like I said, it is a completely new experience.
 
Im annoyed as getting hold of the guy who is selling it is avoiding my messages. I can understand its coming from the States, but Ive gotten stuff from Hong Kong in like 3 days! Hope I at least get the Junpei hat!!!


Oh and also I
want to get with Shinjiro with my female character. But he dies in Persona 3, so would he end up dying even if we started dating???

And yeah, this will be my thirs copy of the game XD

Yep, I bought this game for the 3rd time as well. Actually, I sold my original P3 game to buy P3:FES, so I only own two copies :hmmm:
 
Like SS, Persona 3 PSP will be my third copy of Persona 3 xD I already have Persona 3 and Persona 3 : FES... however, being able to control all the characters in battle, and the game being portable... too good to miss xD

I've never actually completed Persona 3, so this time I really want to get through it. It's a brilliantly fun game, but I always get side-tracked and drop it for ages ><

I've been playing Persona 4 recently though, and loving the game. I'm up to the Secret Laboratory at the moment, and the plot has me hooked. The plot twists really are excellent. I'm hoping I can finish Persona 4 before my copy of P3P arrives. xD

I'm going spare at the moment, trying to find a copy of Persona 1 on PSP online. I had found one on ebay last night, but when I checked it again this morning it had already been sold :rage:

@ Stevie Nicks: Persona PSP is so-so. Its not the best Persona game, but sorting out the pain in the arse map helped a bloody lot. Its my least fav of the series. I got mine for bout £25 at start of year, hopefully youll get a copy.
 
@Mark: If you're at the laboratory dungeon (Naoto's, right?) I think you still have a long way 'til you finish the game. You could probably finish the game with the first bad ending, but if you wanna go for the true ending, it should take a while xD

One of the things I loved about Persona 4 was that while each character had a complex of sort, it was deeper than what it appears on the surface. Like Kanji for example. I know everybody automatically says "oh, he's a sexually confused", but it really isn't about that. It's more about his gender identity. Mean looking biker dude...likes to make clothes and cook xD

Persona 1 on the PSP was the first time I played that game, and I guess I'm just too used to the more pleasant interface and battle system of P3 and P4, but I found the game really difficult and not as interesting as P3/P4. I ended up dropping it. I'll get back to it...eventually >_>

But I do hope Atlus makes P2 PSP port/remake. Hell, release BOTH P2 games, please! xD
 
Oh I <3 Kanji, hes one of my fav Persona characters. Apprantly he was meant to seem confused about his sexuality due to Naoto. But of course that gets sorted. I mean, theres a scene where the girls are in bikinis and Kanji is blushing like crazy. So he isnt gay, just not sure.
