Here's the trailer for the Movie 'Percy Jackson and the Olympians The Lighting Thief'
It was released on February 15, 2010 (USA)
Have you seen the movie? Are you interested in this movie?

I personally was always into mythology and things of that sort when I was younger so, this movie has interested me :hmmm: Plus the Harry Potty movie(s) werent bad either so it'll be interesting to see how this movie plays out.

I love Greek Mythology, but I'm not sure if I'll go and see this. The Harry Potter style of movie isn't really my thing, and I don't tend to like school-based teenager type movies like that much.

That said, I am fond of the concept of the Olympian gods existing the modern world, and I'm happy to see any version of that hit the screens, though I'd have rather someone had done a movie for Marvel's Hercules. :D

Meh I'm not too fussed over this movie.

The actors/actresses seem a bit too try hardish and just don't seem convincing enough for me to go and see it at the cinema.

I may hire it out once it's on DVD, but from the trailers I've seen I'm not really that interested.

Who knows, my mind may change after watching it.

I usually can't stand those school-teenager movies myself, but this movie was actually really pretty good. Other than having one of those cheesy moments where he walks into a new place, zooms in on some "hot" girl, and suddenly she's the love interest, the story was decent, and the way the Greek mythology was worked into the real world was very interesting. Plus his best friend/sidekick was funny as hell :D

As far as the Harry Potter style--Chris Columbus only directed the first two, and while those were decidedly less flashy than the later ones, he seems to have changed his style somewhat in this one--the action scenes were really good and the special effects were top-notch. :) It's not Lord of the Rings or anything, but I'd recommend seeing it if you're into fantasy and looking for something to do.
