We just went to one of these too! :D

Anyway, we went to two different ones. One was pretty bad looking, but the other looked really nice and professional. We got two flat screen HD TVs at this one. Again, for pretty cheap (about $280). They also had plenty of other electronics and DVDs. Which was hella dope.

Have you guys ever been to pawn shop? Ever got a good deal on anything? Tell us. :)

Actually, yes. There's one near me with a lot of video games, and I bought ff7 there for $20. I also saw Persona 3 FES for $10, but I didn't get it.

I think when I was in America I've been to a pawn shop before. I think we were looking for left handed guitars, :wacky: hard as hell to find of course. I think we found a guitar we were considering buying but we ended up not doing it, because it would've meant spending all my money on a guitar that I could save for my trip being there. Yeaaah. Besides, I'dve left the guitar behind at Jeff's house anyway. We stole (got) one from his friend instead and just turned around the strings and played the guitar upside down. Woop. :D

Pawn shops give me that... Criminal kinda feel for some reason. xD

I go to charity stores to get books, i havent really been to one that has anything interesting. Theres an Oxfam book store in the town. Oxfam is a charity for anyone under a rock. Its absolutely amazing what you can get for your money :lew: They're cheapest books are around 50p and not a single book costs more than £2.50. Ive picked up some amazing history books about Ancient Greece, the Romans, the Egyptians and Ancient Scotland.
All these books are as thick as a phone-book and they were all in perfect condition. A total steal for £2.50 each. I havent been in a while but last time i was there i picked up a book called the highland clearances which is about the discrimination of the highlanders after the battle of Culloden.

An even better thing about the shop is that it sells Vinyls :ryan: Yet to find any vinyls that im after but they have some that sell for quite a high amount and they only sell them for 75 pence. I collect vinyls so ive no interest in making a tenner or so off them.

Theres quite a few charity shops around the town but ive not been to many. After my mum passed away we gave all her old clothes away to the CLAN charity shop. They're a charity who help cancer patients. They're excellent and they really treated my mum good. That shop was fairly big and it looked like they had a lot of stuff. Il maybe go down sometime and look through their books and DVD's etc. I must admit i enjoy looking through these shops. Its fun seeing what you can get for cheap.

Never had a need to go to a pawn shop.

The only people I know that go to them use them for hocking their stuff not buying anything from them.

I've never had a need to hock anything because I don't waste my money on shit and I prefer to go to proper stores that give you proper warranties and guarantees and the prices are usually better and you're getting something new as well.

TV's and furniture are usually best bought at a shop that specialises in those things unless you want something vintage or whatever.

I watch Hardcore Pawn and Pawn Stars etc on TV and they really don't appeal to me.
