Is there anyone else who should be the main character of the story besides Tidus? There are six other playable characters in the game(a summoner and her guardians). But who do you think should also be the main character of the story?

Duh... Yuna.

I mean, she's like the essential thing in the pilgrimage. Without her, the pilgrimage is pointless as she is the only one with summoning power.

Maybe Auron can be a main character too, by showing the story in his point of view, from the point of his
death to his eventual sending
. In the game, we don't see much of what he is actually thinking. If the game were to tell the story in his view, I am quite sure it will be interesting.

Nah....even though it would be an obvious choice choosing Yuna being the main character instead of Tidus.......I don't think it would be good for the story.

I'm certainly not a fan of him,but Tidus for most parts of the game is clueless :wacky: and doesn't know whats going on which leads to the story being told more in his view.
Anyway if he wasn't the main character and it was somneone else we wouldn't really care about him........and have no clue of what zanrakand is and such.

Auron is also another person but he offers more on the battlefield rather than on story progression(keeps quite).......but he could be useful main character in a prequel :hmmm: but like HELLL there would be one!

I think Tidus was good for the main character. Maybe it is because we're already use to using Tidus, but it might make things weird.
However if I had to choose I would probably say Auron would be the best choice. He's so different from all the other characters, his perspective would be rather interesting to play from.

Well Yuna should have been the due to the fact that she was a summoner that could obtain the final aeon and defeat Sin, but her using the final aeon would have made a very sad ending to the game

Tidus is a bit stupid at times as he never really thinks when he does stuff but the story was told great from his point of view as a was a very different place from his home and everything was new to him so he had to ask and question things, so you got to learn about things at the same time as Tidus was learning about them which was great

Auron did play a major part with Yuna's father Braska in the events ten years before against Sin and he does know a lot about Sin and how to fight monsters but he is far to quite to be the main character

I know Auron is quiet but it is obvious that he does a lot of thinking. I'm sure we would have gotten to know how thoughts and though process which I find to be very interesting. And he has his moments of...outbursts for lack of a better word :P

Well let see...

Rikku is Al Bhed... not much of a story there for the most part...
Yuna was a summoner who know she was going die if she got to zanrakand and was always smiling and had lots of friends...and who people tried to use...
Seymore Guado... Now a villian could be intresting to control... learn about his past more... his summoner journey...how/why he didnt kill sin or call the final Aeon, cause from what I have gathered he did make it to Zanarkand... and his mom was willing to be a final Aeon... So Idk how/why he failed.
Auron...He was unsent... and was a guardian for Yuna's father... went to the "dream Zanarkand" how sin got there....is way beyond me....
You have Wakka or Lulu...lets admit it...minus living on Besaid with Yuna...they dont have much of a story.... minus with Wakka's brother...
Kimahri Ronso... The one who never talks.....enough said...

So I guess either Yuna or if Square desided to make a twist to the main series and make you a villian and you could play as Seymore.... those two are the only Logical choices minus Tidus...

I mean this in a kind of positive and negative way......but Auron is too cool he's just more focused on getting the task done, rather than stopping and reminiscing on the story. He already knows whats going on and you could say knows whats gonna happen.....Also his attitude never really develops.....he stays straight-minded throughout the game.

You could say Squall is extremly quiet too, more so than Auron.......But if ya ask me who's portrays the story more as a main character Squall or Tidus it would definately have to be Tidus.

I would argue that Yuna is the main character of the story, while Tidus is the main character of the game, if that makes any sense.

The story revolves around Yuna, and is structured around her decisions. The game is based around Tidus and we see the things through his POV, but his effect on the story isn't nearly as large as Yuna. It's her pilgrimage, she's the one who decides to turn against Yevon, yadadada.

So I would say that Tidus isn't even the main character of the story, but rather of the game.

Nah Tidus was perfect for the lead.

His Naivety was a great proponent to explain the workings of the world of Spira, Not knowing allowed a unique perspective to form and from that perspective was born the belief that they way Spira functioned was wrong.

And Tidus had the guts to do something about it!

I personally saw Yuna as the main charecter, considering she's going through the journey on a more emotion level, rather than Tidus making it slightly more personal.
Though I would say that all of them do play an important part-- But seeing as if Yuna didn't decide to be a summoner anyway, then the story would have neever been the amazing storyline it became, it would have become another shambles like FF12 or something.

But on a serious note, considering Yuna is the one willing to sacrifice her life and such, I'd say it's her.

Video game players are, unaccountably, obsessed with the notion of main characters. It's not always so clear;there are different standards, such as POV,influence, being the focus of the story, etc.

The game is through Tidus's POV,although admittedly he's not the most influential character in the story;don't forget, though, that without him,Yuna likely wouldn't have figured out the truth behind Yevon and the cycle would have continued.

Yuna is the focus of the story, and the one who does ultimately make the descion to rebel against Yevon,but...

Auron seems like the most influential character to me.He learned of the truth behind Yevon, entrusted Yuna to Kimahri, took care of Tidus for ten years, then guided the two of them carefully to keep Braska and all the other high summoner's stories from repeating again.

His lines don't hurt,either;

"Your pain shall be two-fold!"

"Die and be free of pain or live and fight you sorrows!"

:O Whoa.
